A Candid Conversation

*At 5pm*

I patiently waited for Aryan in the canteen, and he finally arrived on the dot. He waved and approached my table, apologizing, "Sorry for being late."

I replied, "It's alright. I came early."

With a subtle signal to one of the waiters, I hinted for the canteen to be cleared. Turning my attention back to Aryan, I inquired, "Now, what do you want to talk about?"

Aryan responded, "Don't you think we haven't spent much time together or had a normal conversation lately?"

I acknowledged, "And I understand the current state of our company."

Aryan explained, "I know you have a lot on your plate. But amidst all this, we still have our personal lives. My life isn't like yours. It's new for me to adjust to everything."

I responded firmly, "Sonakshi Mehrotra's life was never ordinary. I didn't work hard to have a 9-5 life. You should have known that my life would never be normal. You should've realized before falling in love with me that I'd never lead a typical life like other girls. If you have a problem with this, I'd suggest you find someone else. My business will always come first. It's my top priority. So, if you can't accept that, you should choose your dream girl."

Aryan questioned, "Do you really love me?"

I affirmed, "Yes, I do, but Aryan, if these issues persist, I don't think our relationship can survive."

Aryan changed the topic, "I need to discuss something else."

I inquired, "What is it?"

Aryan probed, "What's your relationship with Rohan?"I questioned, "What do you mean?"Aryan continued, "Does Rohan love you?"I was taken aback, "What are you even talking about?"

Aryan explained, "I saw him kiss you."

I clarified, "Rohan is not just my secretary; he's my friend, even more than a friend. It was an emotional moment, and we didn't even realize it. It's a friend thing, and you're questioning my integrity."

Anger building up, I grabbed my purse, and firmly stated, "Okay, Aryan, let's end this conversation here. You're going off track."

Aryan responded, "No, I'm not questioning you. I know you, but I don't trust him."

I said, "I understand that jealousy can arise in a relationship, but questioning my character is absurd. I think we should end it here, or we might as well end the relationship right now. Please, for my sake, don't say anything."

Aryan reluctantly agreed, "Okay."

I stood up, and he hugged and kissed me, apologizing, "Sorry for being rude. I'll try to understand your perspective."

I looked at him and sincerely said, "Thank you. I love you."
