Second Chances 1.53

After wandering through the obsidian stone ruins and only finding debris, Viggo, Ana, and Sakura plunged into the pool. Then they saw that, under the water, under a pile of rubble, there was a kind of cave. Viggo was the first to dive through the rocky-walled cave. At the same time, he realized that it continued ten meters until he found a kind of ramp that ascended. Viggo kept swimming until he could put his feet on the ramp and began to emerge. Once he got out of the water he stumbled upon a long corridor of walls, floor and ceiling made of obsidian stone. The place was quite dark, and the walls were missing some pieces of wall that now obstructed the way. However, despite how it was and the age it was projected, it still seemed a firm construction. Viggo advanced generating splashes in the water until he stepped on dry land. He advanced down the hall as water fell from his body. Then he saw at the end of the corridor a large door made of stone and to his left a rectangular totem. Viggo heard the noise of someone emerging from the water and taking a big breath. He turned his face and saw Sakura in the water. Red clothes were glued to her body as she ran her hands over her face to remove the water. Viggo smiled, as he saw those prominent mounds outlined in cloth. At the same time, her nipples would get hard sticking out over those mounds. Then he looked forward in disguise and continued to move down the hall, while listening to another person emerge from the water. It must have been Ana, he thought.

-What is this place?- asked Sakura, echoing through the corridor.

-I don't know- Ana said in a voice full of amazement as she raised her face to look at the building.

Viggo didn't know either, so continue to advance to the totem pole. This was two meters high, rectangular in appearance. On the face facing the corridor, they had engraved the figure of a disc about 30 cm in diameter. At the same time, at the top someone had left wildflowers as an ornament, next to two aromatic candles. The wicks were still lit, but despite that, instinct told Viggo that they were alone. Whoever lit the candles, was already gone.

Viggo looked at the front and inspected the big door. It must have been about 4 meters high by 5 meters wide. It looked solid, but something had hit it so hard that, at the junction of the two sides of the door, a piece of rock 1 meter high by sixty cms wide was missing. The crack had the perfect space for Viggo to pass crouched and sideways.

Viggo was going to approach to look through the crack and see what was on the other side. However, he hears a beastly roar like that made by the mighty ogres in their master's world. So, he unconsciously took two steps back.

Viggo smiled excitedly and grabbed the axe with both hands. Then he began to move towards the crack. However, before he could arrive, two pairs of hands took him by one arm each and pulled him back.

As he stepped back, Viggo looked sideways and saw Sakura and Ana with faces full of anguish pulling him away from the door.

-Don't go- Sakura said, her eyes wet from the tears that poked out at the corner of her eyes.

-Yes, don't go- Ana said -we can, we can...- try to continue what she was going to say, but her mouth began to shiver.

For his part, Viggo stopped his retreat, but neither Ana nor Sakura let go of his arms. Viggo turned to look at them and they hugged him by the waist.

-I don't know what's there, but it's not human- Sakura said.

Ana nodded as she hid her face in Viggo's chest.

-I know it's not human- Viggo said in a soft voice that appeased doubts and fears. Both girls raised their faces and looked at his face. Viggo smiled with total naturalness and gave them that tranquillity that they needed so much at this time.

-Don't worry- continued Viggo, gave a brief kiss on the lips to Sakura and another to Ana and looked them in the eye -I've faced things like that when I was younger. I know because of the noise it makes it seems intimidating, but believe me, I can beat it-

-Do you promise?- asked Ana, her eyes covered with tears.

-I promise for my life and that of my family. Now you are also my family, so in no way would I put you at risk or leave you to your fate-

Ana nodded and Viggo smiled. Then they exchanged kisses and they finally let go. Once free, Viggo turned his back to them and began to walk towards the door holding his axe in his left hand. Arriving at the crack, he first passed his head and looked inside.

The place looked like a spacious room with the dimensions of a dome. Ten meters high by Fifty meters in diameter. The stalactites were scattered both on the ceiling and on the floor. However, some of the walls had pieces of cracked obsidian stone. In the center of the roof of the cave was a hole through which daylight filtered and showed in the background a large humanoid figure, almost as large as a troll. Viggo swallows' saliva thinking of the monster with large horns on the sides of his head and a huge totem almost as big as him, on his left shoulder.

However, and despite the reservations, Viggo finished passing his body through the crack and went inside the great cave. Different from that time when he fought alongside his master against a troll, he was now stronger and more well-versed in combat. He had his axe and all his experiences fighting in Muspelheim.

-"Prepare yourself"- Viggo heard his master say in his thick, strict voice.

Unconsciously, Viggo took the axe with both hands and roared -I'm ready!-. Then the creature heard it and began to move generating telluric movements throughout the surface. Sediment fell from the ceiling and the stalactites trembled. The creature was illuminated by the light filtering through the ceiling and a huge orange-skinned humanoid body could be seen. In his head he had only one eye, which emitted a golden glow. On the other hand, instead of waiting for the big cyclope to come for him, Viggo ran in his direction.

-AAAAAAAAH- roared the cyclope opening his huge mouth, with an expression of fury. However, such a roar was of little use to him, Viggo ran to meet him and when he was three meters away, the cyclope raised his right arm, almost as thick as the torso of an adult, and discharged him against Viggo. The latter jumped to the side, took the axe, and threw a horizontal cut that opened his biceps. The cyclopes roared with pain and the blood emanated from the wound. He stepped back a step while covering the arm wound with his other hand. Viggo took advantage of running to the right leg. Once he arrived, he took the axe with both hands and gave another powerful cut. However, different from before, at the time of cutting, the axe was embedded in the kneecap. Viggo pulled the axe to let it loose, but it was useless. At the same time, he felt something coming to his body and jumped back. Then he saw a huge orange fist pass in front of him.

Viggo was one meter away from the cyclops and he raised his left arm to continue the attack. Then he punched and Viggo had to bend down to dodge the blow. The cyclopes continued to give another punch with his right arm at the same time as he advanced. In this way, he continues to alternate between one fist and the other and the only thing Viggo could do was back up and dodge. Then the cyclopes tired of chasing him raised both arms and discharged them against Viggo. The latter saw an opportunity, stepped forward, passed through the middle of both arms without taking damage and jumped raised his right elbow to connect a powerful blow in the jaw of the cyclops. With the force of the advance in opposition to both bodies, the damage was massive, and a cyclopes tusk flew through the air as the body fell sideways.

Seeing the fallen cyclops, Viggo ran to the right knee and slapped the axe knob, it is loosening and Viggo took it by the handle and took it out in one fell swoop. At the same time, the cyclops threw a kick with his other leg, which reached Viggo and threw him ten meters away, crashing into the stalactites emerging from the ground. Dust and rocks jumped everywhere leaving a dust. Which helped Viggo crawl to hide behind other stalactites.

In the middle of the dust, the cyclopes advanced making the ground tremble and searching with its golden glow eye. Viggo crawled on all fours and slipped away using other stalactites, moving five meters away from the cyclops. Then he took a second breath and looked at his body. He only had a few scratches on his arms and other bruises on his body, but no care. So, he nodded, came out from behind the stalactites, and took the axe with both hands. Then he joined all his strength and threw it while he launched a beastly cry. The axe flew vertically, making successive turns until it hit the ogre's back and was nailed. Then Viggo started running and the cyclops turned around to face him. The cyclopes let out a beastly roar and Viggo screamed in response. The cyclops threw a punch and Viggo dodged once again and jumped connecting another elbow in the jaw. However, this time the cyclopes struck with less force, so the impact only made him dizzy, and he stepped back a couple of steps as he staggered. However, Viggo when he fell standing on the ground continued with his attack. He jumps to the front with both feet in front and this time hit cyclops on the right leg that had been injured by the axe. The bone creaked like a wood splitting in half and the cyclops fell to its knees. At the same time, Viggo fell on his back against the rocky ground, but far from feeling pain, he was focused on continuing with his next move. So, he got up as fast as he could and took advantage of the fact that the cyclops was kneeling. He jumped leaning on the knee of the cyclops that left him on the forearm. Then he took another leap and climbed until he stood on his shoulders. Then he began to throw punches at the back of the cyclope's neck without rest. Screaming and raising his voice with each blow he gave, until he felt the bone in the back of his neck creak. Then he raised both arms, intertwined his hands, and discharged them as if it were a powerful hammer. The bone creaked and Viggo's fists entered the inside of the skull. At the same time, blood exploded from the cyclope's head, and it let out a faint roar, then collapsed.

Viggo jumped from cyclopes' shoulders and fell to the ground standing, covered in blood. He was panting hard, but more than feeling upset, he felt refreshed. He looked at his right fist and squeezed it, then smiled and felt that he had become stronger.

On the other hand, the girls passed through the crack and entered the cave. They ran towards Viggo, and he raised his face to look at them with tired eyes. They hugged him despite the blood and Viggo returned the gesture. However, what was a moment of peace, was interrupted by the golden light emanating from the cyclops. The huge body was transformed into two things; a parched mummy and the golden sphere that Kiara surely spoke of. Viggo and the girls were amazed.
