Remnants of another Era 1.77

Viggo was five rungs away from reaching the platform at the top. He could see the wonderful obsidian stone floor with beautiful openwork that formed a kind of circle. However, despite the unusual lighting, the supposed minotaur was nowhere to be seen. Viggo continued ascending until he reached the platform and as soon as he took the first step he felt as if he was passing through a wind barrier. Then he heard the ringing of a glass and the openwork on the floor lit up revealing intricate drawings with a golden glow. At the same time, the joints between the stones of the walls along the entire labyrinth began to illuminate.

Viggo began to retreat until he hit something that felt like a wall. Then he turned around and saw that there was nothing, but if he touched with his hand it felt like there was a kind of semi-transparent wall. Viggo let out a growl and turned to look forward. Then the illuminated floor began to descend and at the same time the roar of a great beast began to be heard. Viggo frowned and began to walk in the direction of the bellows.

On the other hand, as the ground sank, large pillars one meter thick began to stand out. At the same time, at the bottom of the platform, in a kind of hole embedded in a wall, the head of a bull was seen. His huge five-fingered left hand was also seen with which he punched a kind of invisible wall. The huge beast opened its mouth and bellowed as it pounded the wall with all its strength, as if eager to fight as soon as possible. Then his huge torso was seen, like that of a muscular human being, but with the bones of the chest protruding as if they were large thorns. Then his right hand was seen, which he kept low and held a huge battle axe. And finally, its two legs with huge wedges.

Viggo stopped five meters from the hole in the wall that kept the minotaur trapped. At the same time, he watched as the great beast continued to roar and punch the invisible wall. Viggo took his axe with both hands, waiting for the moment when the floor would stop its descent and the beast would be released. That only took a few seconds, where he was left in a kind of coliseum arena surrounded by large pillars three meters high. As Viggo supposed, the invisible wall was deactivated, and the beast noticed that it was now free. Then the minotaur raised his gaze to the sky and launched a roar with all his strength. Then he looked forward, jumped up by lifting his huge battle axe and when he reached two meters away, he unloaded the axe on Viggo. The latter jumped to his right and the axe hit the obsidian stone floor causing sparks.

Viggo immediately rejoined, and the beast more than three meters high turned to look at him. Viggo looked at him too and began to move to the right, as if trying to skirt him by looking for his back. He held his axe with both hands, listening to his breathing, listening to the breath of the beast, listening to his footsteps, and always staring at the great beast. Viggo had a stern expression and sharp look like a sword. It was only him and his opponent at this time. "Prepare yourself" Viggo heard his master in his mind. Then he noticed how the minotaur threw a punch with his left. Viggo also moved his body to the left, dodging the attack narrowly. Then he raised his axe and unloaded it against the minotaur's arm as he let out a beastly scream. The axe hit the forearm and instantly generated a large cut that pierced much of the skin and flesh but did not reach the bone.

The minotaur let out a terrible roar, retreated in a clumsy move while throwing punches with the battle axe in his right hand to prevent Viggo from approaching. Once the minotaur was able to retreat five meters, he crouched down and got on all fours, as if he were a normal bull. He dug with his right leg and threw himself with a great forward momentum. Viggo had to jump in order to dodge it, but the fight was only beginning, and the minotaur continued to launch one onslaught after another.

Viggo continued to evade the minotaur for a long minute, until he got bored, stood firm, and grabbed his axe with both hands to attack. The minotaur was launched once again and Viggo launched a beastly cry while he fanned with his axe and hit him in the head. The minotaur managed to transmit some of the strength of his onslaught to Viggo, sending him flying and colliding with a huge stone pillar. At the same time, the minotaur ended up without a horn and with the axe stuck in his skull.

The minotaur staggered from the wound. Blood flowed from his head and covered half of his left eye. However, dumbed down by the genes, the minotaur only gave a roar full of fury, tore the axe from his head and threw it away.

At the same time, Viggo got up from the ground with great pain in his back and head. However, now he was focused on winning, so the pain didn't matter at all. He moved forward and the minotaur ran to meet him as he dragged his huge axe. However, instead of being dressed, the minotaur raised the battle axe and discharged it vertically. Viggo remained focused despite the pain and rolled to the side. The minotaur rotated on its axis and launched a second horizontal cut. At the same time, Viggo rolled past under the axe and was dodging and making his way to his axe.

The minotaur continued to hurl roars full of fury and forceful blows with all its force. His mouth was filled with foam and the blood flowing from his head continued to go down until it reached the ground and splashed on all sides.

Viggo reached for his axe and took it with his two hands, stood up waiting for an attack and once another axe was thrown at him, he crouched down passing underneath. At the same time, he threw an axe at the minotaur's fingers and cut off two fingers. The minotaur let go of his axe instantly, launched a roar full of fury, and punched his left hand. Viggo again evaded by the slightest margin and threw a scream, while unloading his axe twice on his arm. The first time to cut until reach the bone and the second time to cut as much as you could.

The minotaur backed away giving a distressing roar as his left arm hung from some biceps muscle. At the same time, Viggo let go of his axe, went for the minotaur's, and took it with both hands. Then he dragged the huge axe as the minotaur tried to back up by colliding with the pillars until it fell on his butt. Viggo accelerated his march until he ran with all his strength. At the same time, it dragged the huge battle axe producing a metallic noise. Viggo arrived in front of minotaur, launched a furious cry, and used all his strength to throw a powerful cut into the throat while the minotaur covered himself with his right arm. The battle axe hit his squarely in the forearm and it was halfway to amputating. The minotaur roared in pain, but he made strength and pushed the axe back. Viggo let go of the handle of the axe and ran until he reached one meter of the minotaur. He jumped on top of him, took his head and threw it back. The minotaur began to kick hard, but Viggo held his grip firm until he became enraged and took him by the jaw and horn to try to twist his neck. The minotaur tried to throw punches with his only hand, but Viggo screamed and threw him to the floor face down, making any kind of attack impossible. Then Viggo concentrated his mind and physical strength, screamed with all the fury that was in his heart and turned the minotaur's head until the neck gave way, his bones sounded, and the bellows stopped.

Viggo let go of the minotaur's head and began to back off as he gasped with terrible tiredness. At the same time, the body of the minotaur began to shine just like the body of the cyclope and little by little the particles of light began to dissipate until leaving only a sphere of gold and a corpse of hummed shape more like a mummy. Viggo stopped his retreat, staggered his way, and picked up the sphere from the ground.

-Let's see- said Viggo looking at his axe a few meters from him on the obsidian stone floor. Once he reached for his axe, he lifted it up and brought the golden sphere closer to the axe. With a simple contact, the axe began to glow with beautiful runic engravings, emitted an icy mist, and the leaf was covered with frost. However, the energy of a sphere alone was insufficient. Soon the axe regained its normal shape and the sphere turned to stone.

-Well, how many more are missing?- he asked -Four more?- Viggo denied anything annoying and kept walking to the space where the minotaur was. Once Viggo arrived in front of the space that was a perfect cube embedded in a wall, he looked at the end of the space and saw an obsidian stone pedestal. Then place the stone sphere and it is back to its golden color.

Viggo didn't even bother to try to occupy the energy, since like the previous time, the stone would lose its golden color as soon as he took it off the pedestal.

After completing the task given to him by Kiara, Viggo walked to the other end and looked up and saw that the space he had come through was now almost three meters high. Viggo let out a tired sigh and looked at his axe in his left hand.

-I need a breastplate with a ring on the back like my master's so I can have my hands free- he said.

Then Viggo took his right hand and put it in the middle of the indentations that the obsidian rock had, he grabbed the best he could and then carried his left hand; with two fingers he leaned, while with the other three he held the axe. In this way, Viggo climbed the wall until he reached the top and found the staircase. Viggo stood on the staircase and looked at the expanse of the crete labyrinth. The place was unusually lit with bright indentations in the walls. However, it still retained that ground-level fog that flowed throughout the labyrinth. On the walls there were only three silhouettes, since the fourth, was crawling down the staircase.

Viggo as soon as he noticed the person, he began to jog and when he realized that it was Sakura, he ran with all his strength. In just an instant Viggo got to where she was and looked at her face.

-I'm sorry- Sakura said with tears in her eyes -but I thought you were going to die-

Viggo clenched his fist furiously to the point that his bones thundered, but he let go of the air and nodded with a stern look. Then he passed his axe to Sakura and carried her in his arms. Viggo looked forward with a terrible angry expression as Sakura looked at him from her arms.

-I'm sorry- Sakura said, her eyes covered with tears.

-Don't feel it, believe in me for the next one- Viggo replied with an annoying tone of voice. Sakura hid her face in Viggo's chest and cried. For his part, Viggo continued to advance until he left behind the long staircase and reached the base of the wall, where the rest of the girls at the top of the wall were waiting for him.

Viggo left Sakura leaning against the wall and shouted upwards -Do they still have the rope?-

-Yes- shout Ana back -How is my sister?-

-It seems that he broke a leg, but she is fine for the moment. Don't worry, I will ask Kiara to heal her and if she can't, I will ask my father. Surely my old man has his methods to make the bones look like new-

-What do we do with the rope?-

-Let me think for the while. If you come up with any ideas, you tell me-

-Ok-
