Remnants of another Era 1.80

It had been a week since Viggo, and his party arrived on the island of Euboea. In that period, Semiramis and Viggo went around the island to find a buyer for the mansion and the ship. One was the leader of the island that reigned over all of Euboea. Another was a wheat and olive farmer who had connections to the great merchants of Athens. And finally, the owner of the slave market.

The leader of Euboea did not even bother to receive them, for him, Semiramis was a dead woman along with all her belongings. It seems that, in the past, he tried to get close to Semiramis, but she refused any kind of breakthrough. By then Semiramis had the protection of Kiara, so it was impossible for the leader of the island to make any kind of move.

On the other hand, the slave trader was only willing to buy the ship, which Served Semiramis, but was not ideal. So, she decided to see the farmer who had connections in Athens.

Because Greece was an area full of mountains and land unsuitable for cultivation, wheat was a highly prized commodity. So, the great merchants of Athens always tried to be on good terms with the farmer. That's how influential the guy was. The fact is that Semiramis went and offered the farmer his mansion and ship. Like the slaver, the farmer was only interested in the ship. However, Semiramis traded the final amount and the guy agreed to buy it all.

So, on Sunday of that week, Semiramis and Viggo left for the farm, on the outskirts of town. They had left Scheherezade taking care of Sakura, while Ana took care of the surroundings of the mansion. They descended the north side of the hill and reached the northern wall of the city of Chalcis.

Viggo noticed that the day was semi cloudy and somewhat hot. At the same time, the sea breeze relieved the heat of the day and rocked the trees. Semiramis was looking straight ahead, her long dark hair waving at every step she took. Her oval face of beautiful fair skin and her small features made her look beautiful. However, in his yellow-pupil eyes was a flash of worry.

For his part, Viggo was dressed as usual, his torso naked demonstrating his powerful physique with a thick leather belt at his waist, which had a bronze lion's head in its center. Below the belt, he wore a red robe that reached up to his knees, like the one worn by the Spartans.

The trees on the sides of the road had taken on yellow and orange colors as they had begun to drop their leaves and generate circles around them. At the same time, the road was also covered with leaves.

When Viggo and Semiramis were given nine o'clock in the morning, they had toured the entire northern wall of the city and reached the great gates of the city. Viggo kept looking at the road and keeping an eye on Semiramis. She had been very quiet all the way as worry flashed in her eyes.

Once they left the city gates behind, they advanced through a village on the outskirts of the city. All the houses on the sides of the road were made of adobe and painted with light blue stripes.

-Why are you so quiet?- asked Viggo as they advanced along the dirt road. He notices that could see smoke coming out of the chimneys, but couldn't see people in the yards, in the streets or in the houses.

-I'm just thinking, nothing more- Semiramis replied in a calm voice.

-It seems more than just thinking, you seem worried. Tell me, there is something I can do to give peace to your heart-

Semiramis showed a small sly smile and said -in that case, I want you to go get a red flower at Zeus' rest, in Mesara-

-I'll delay, but I'll do it if that's what you want-

-Of course, I don't want that, silly- Semiramis said in a better mood, then she let out a sigh and said quietly -sometimes I really think you love me-

-I also think about it sometimes-

-Hey!- protested Semiramis as if she were angry as she smiled and gave her a push.

Viggo let out a chuckle and looked at Semiramis' beautiful smile. Then, he got a little more serious and continuous -what I say about doing something to give you peace of mind, I mean it-

Semiramis also became serious and kept looking at the road. Seeing how the humble houses passed by on the sides of the road. All belonged to the workers of the wheat and olive plantation. After a while, the silence spread, Viggo kept looking at her, but she just looked forward, watching as the village ended to make way for large orchards of olive trees. Men, women and children could be seen filling baskets with olives from the trees.

-I think I'm taking a big step, but I'm afraid- said Semiramis -I'm selling everything and thinking about starting a new life somewhere else. Don't get me wrong, Viggo, I like you, I've met you over these two years and I can say that you are someone decent. You do your job, you have fun while you do it, but when you must get serious, you are. I have no complaints about it, it's just...-

-Just what?- asked Viggo.

-I don't know who you are- said Semiramis.

-I am Viggo, the misthios who protected your ship and was your friend for two years. We have eaten together, slept together, now we do more than sleep. Only last night...-

-Yes, I know that- Semiramis said, looking up. She stopped, looked at Viggo's eyes, and bit her lower lip. Then she asked in a soft tone of voice -Who are you Viggo? Scheherezade was an intelligent girl and graceful of the harem of one of the princes of Persia. Sakura and Ana are the daughters of a Spartan polemarca and the apprentices of the hetera queen. However, where do you come from?-

Viggo stopped and looked into her eyes. He frowned upon being questioned about all those things, but don't take it personally either. In the end, he was offering Semiramis a life in a place he wasn't even on this planet. Viggo let out a sigh and smiled -let's go on, I'll tell you along the way-

In that way, they traversed the orchard of olive trees, and their entire field of vision was filled with extensive wheat plantations. It looked like a golden sea, somewhat dull from the semi-cloudy sky of the day.

They continued to advance, talking about who Viggo was and where he came from as they advanced north to a rocky hill. At the top of that hill was an aristocratic-style mansion with white walls and a front courtyard with a shed made of criss-cross woods, from which, red-leafed vines fell.

Viggo approached Semiramis until they walked shoulder to shoulder. She took his hand and looked at him seriously as he recounted his life in Orario.

Once Viggo finished with his story, Semiramis asked -Just that?-

-No- said Viggo with a sly smile -the rest is a surprise for when we're there-

-Viggo, I'm very worried-

-Me too- replied Viggo, stopping in front of Semiramis. He looked her in the eye and tried to appear as sincere as possible, which in itself had not been. Well, he told her that his mother was important Orario and that his father was a great warrior, but he never told her that Orario was on another planet. Nor that his mother was a goddess, and his father is the god the gods fear. Of course, Viggo also didn't tell her that he had been such a dumb son that he had to be sent to train outside so that he would learn to value things. That would only ruin Semiramis' image of him -I want you to believe in me- said.

-Are you hiding something from me?- asked Semiramis frowning.

-Sure- Viggo said with a sly smile. He pulled her face closer and gave her a tender kiss on the lips -you'll know in time-

-Viggo!- exclaimed Semiramis angrily.

-Come on, believe in me, it's not a bad thing. It's a surprise, believe me, once you know it, you'll be surprised-

-In a good way?-

Viggo rolled his eyes to the sky with a playful look, then looked at her face and said -yes, I think so-

Semiramis let out a sigh and walked over to rest his forehead on Viggo's shoulder.

-At least tell me something-

-What thing?-

Semiramis raised her face and looked into his eyes. She really seemed worried about the future -do you love me?-

Viggo made a sly smile and gave her a small kiss on the lips -I don't know, maybe, if you accompany me to Orario I will know it-

-¡Viggo!-

-Just kidding, just kidding, of course I love you. I like a lot of things about you- Viggo said, so he brought his mouth to Semiramis' ear and whispered many things that made her blush.

Semiramis looked down and Viggo was waiting for her reaction. What he didn't expect, however, was that she would throw a punch in his face.

-Take it seriously!- replied Semiramis with an angry face.

Viggo moved his face to the side and let the small fist pass, then caught her forearm. Then he let go of her arm without ever losing his sly smile and she retracted it, looking at him full of resentment. Viggo brought his face closer little by little, looking at those yellow pupil eyes filled with anger. He brought his lips closer and gave her a tender kiss, which Semiramis only received, but never answered.

Viggo turned away and said -I take it seriously too, but in a different way- and it was partly true. After all, telling a future wife that your mother was the third richest person in the city where the gods live, was just to attract misunderstandings. He didn't want to get confused into thinking she was an opportunist, or that she would make false expectations. After all, in the Dragonroad house, everyone must earn their place and no matter how much money their father and mother have, neither would fix their lives. Otherwise, he would never have been sent to train outside because he was a messy son.

-In what sense?- asked Semiramis, still angry.

-I do not want to confuse myself or that you make false expectations. I'll just tell you this, my mother is a blacksmith and my father is a great warrior-

Semiramis let out a sigh of tiredness and again approached Viggo to rest her forehead against his shoulder.

-Do you really love me?-

Viggo noticing the weakness in Semiramis' body, carried his hands to his arms and caressed the soft skin with great care. Then he hugs her and whispers in her ear -yes, don't worry, what I said in front of Kiara is true. If you are with me, I will never abandon you-

Semiramis nodded and raised her face with a cute expression of distress. Viggo smiled and kissed the fleshy lips. Semiramis embraced him and they continued kissing, surrounded by wheat fields that, with the morning breeze, swayed from side to side like a golden sea.
