Deity 2.325

The city of Orario was on alert thanks to the sudden attack of the god Poseidon. Only the gods knew who it had been and because of that, Uranus called an emergency meeting.

The gods gathered in the pantheon, sitting around a long table while the main gods were seated on white marble thrones.

Above the thrones from left to right were Demeter, goddess of the earth, with beautiful honey hair and a pastel pink dress. Then came the red-haired goddess Hepahestus. She was dressed in a white blouse and dark pants. Then came the god Uranus, leader of all the gods. An old man in a white robe with a serious look. Finally, the goddess Freya, with beautiful silver hair, white robe, and a golden laurel wreath.

The rest of the gods looked at them with grumpy faces from the table. Most eyes were directed at Hephaestus for being Kain's wife and Viggo's mother. The people who had allegedly caused this situation.

Uranus looked at the gods and said to them —today we have gathered to talk about the attack of the god Poseidon—

—The answer to Viggo's attack on the god Poseidon— said Apollo.

—No one has given you the word, we are gods, let's speak with respect and in order— said Uranus.

Apollo stared at the old god as he thought about the words Poseidon communicated to him.

—My son just put that animal in its place— Hephaestus said in a strong tone of voice as she looked into his eyes —to begin with, Poseidon cannot be considered a god associated with Orario. He has been away from us from the beginning, he didn't even deign to start a family, let alone help in the challenges of the gods. He is our enemy—

—Hephaestus— said Uranus.

Hephaestus looked into his eyes, then crossed her arms and legs and looked in another direction.

Many gods were unaware of the situation and the few who understood the whole story, did not dare to place themselves for or against the gods.

The goddess Athena, sitting next to the goddess Bishamon, raised her hand. The gods stared at her. She had straight, purple hair while wearing a white toga.

The god Uranus frowned, let out a sigh, and looked at the goddess's bulging belly —What do you mean, Athena?— he asked.

—Yes, regarding this meeting of gods, I would like to know why my husband is not with us?—

—Your husband is the one who caused all this trouble— said the god Apollo.

Athena looked at him and saw him sitting three stalls away from her. He had blond hair and a red cloak over his shoulders —Excuse me?— she asked and stared into his eyes.

The god Apollo looked into her eyes and pointed his index finger at her —it was your husband who first attacked Poseidon and got into a matter that has nothing to do with it— he said.

Athena stared at him, she kept silent, but at no time did she look away. The god Apollo pursed his nose as if he was furious, but at the silence and gaze he became nervous. It was as if he wanted to scream in fury, but he had the words stuck in his throat.

Athena smiled and said —I'm going to think it's the arrogance of being a god, so I'm going to explain it to you. Everyone should already know—

—It's just a rumor— Apollo roared, sensing what she was going to say.

—You're God, you came long before me, so I'm going to guess you forgot. However, the existence of the king of the gods is our goal—

Everyone was silent, because even though many were hundreds of years, they could not produce an adventurer who could occupy such a place. On the other hand, the king of the gods had been born naturally, from one of the gods and not created through the blessing of the falna. That meant that all the gods had failed.

Athena looked at the rest and said —Viggo has already seen it, he just needs to throw a ray of sunlight into the sky and his divinity will be complete. The first God to be born and grow naturally. So, I will ask again why my husband was not invited to this meeting?—

—Because as you say— replied Uranus —he is not yet a god—

Athena looked at Uranus and said —And that's why you let them accuse him unjustly?—

—As gods we must remain calm. I feel disappointed— said Uranus and looked at Apollo —Apollo shouted out an act of injustice— then looked at Hepahestus and continued —Hephaestus declared self-defense— finally, he looked at Athena and continued —and you claim the invitation of the future king of the gods—

Athena opened her lips as if she wanted to respond, but she notices her state of alteration. Was it a product of her pregnancy or because Viggo cared? —I'm sorry— she said —I've disrespected you— then she looked at the rest of the gods and continued —also at you, I've acted rashly— then she looked at the god Uranus and said —please continue, I won't interrupt you again—

Uranus nodded and looked at the rest of the gods —I am Uranus, leader of the gods, I see what each of you does. Viggo and Poseidon are not the difference. Poseidon was stolen by his family and in a fit of rage attacked the city Shalzard. Viggo was at that time inside the city and with his divine power, he attacked the god Poseidon so that he would not continue attacking the city—

—Uranus— said Apollo —that does not justify his intervention. He just had to step aside and not interfere—

Uranus looked at Apollo as if he were a fool and said —I know you are in communication with Poseidon, but when was the last time you saw him?—

Apollo remained silent, for as much as Opera Meilstora was a luxurious place, he was not willing to travel that far and instead, tried very hard to improve his adventurers. So, he hadn't seen it for over a hundred years.

—he's no longer part of us— said Uranus.

—That's ridiculous, Uranus. He belongs to the gods of my pantheon— said Apollo.

Uranus looked him in the eye and responded —he received an embrace from outside—

—Blasphemy— said Apollo —it can't be, he... It must be a lie—

—There's no need to lie— said a thick, firm voice. Apollo looked at the side door, to the left of the thrones of the main gods. The double door opened, and a tall, red-haired man walked in. He had golden eyes and a serious look. In this meeting room he was the highest of all the gods.

—Viggo, this is not your time— said Uranus —this is something we should discuss among us, the gods—

—Nothing is missing, I could launch right now the last ray of sunlight and finish germinating my divinity. Don't waste my time— said Viggo, he kept walking and stood at the head of the table where most of the gods were while turning his back on Demeter, Hepahestus, Uranus and Freya.

Viggo looked at all the gods, including his wives, Athena, and Bishamon. Viggo raised his right hand and took out a leather bag from his ring. Once the bag appeared in the hand, he put it down on the table and opened the bag. From inside he began to take out glass jars and a large metal box. As a reflex effect, the black substance solidified like a stone inside the containers, became viscous and stuck to the glass as if they wanted to reach the gods.

The gods were alarmed, and some rose from their chairs, widening the distance between them and the jars.

At the same time, the metal box began to move as if a creature were inside hitting the wall to free itself.

Viggo rested both hands on the table, looked back and saw Demeter, Hephaestus, Uranus, and Freya —you too, come— he said.

—Excuse me?— asked Hephaestus with a frown as she heard her son speaking to her in that tone.

—Mother, if you want, then you scold me, now I have something important to say— said Viggo, losing some of his seriousness and showing a small smile.

Hephaestus nodded seriously and rose from her throne. She was the first to walk towards Viggo. She was followed by Uranus, Demeter and last, Freya. The four major gods surrounded Viggo and looked at the jars on the table.

Viggo looked at the gods and said —these things are parasites that live inside the monsters that inhabit the desert of Kaios. After analyzing it, I discovered that they feed on the internal mana. This in turn revitalizes the host's body and makes it stronger, to the point that it could be called evolution. This is an assumption, but this may be spreading through the desert and will soon reach the central part of the continent. Moreover, it is the reason why a god who comes down from heaven can occupy his divine power—

—Is this the influence of an outside?— asked Uranus.

Viggo looked at him to the left, the old God was next to Hephaestus and Demeter. Viggo nodded and said —Yes, through my travels I have surrounded myself with technology and knowledge of other planets. A dwarf named Ivaldi was in contact with an outsider and thanks to his advice, he was able to create a type of technology that allows him to identify others—

—What happened to him?— asked Apollo.

Viggo looked at the god who was arguing so much about his attack and replied —the king of the gods of that world kill him—

—Was that because of the influence?—

—No, it was only the choice of that god— said Viggo —the fact is— he raised his face and looked at everyone —that we faced a threat— Viggo carried his right hand over the jars and continued — this will enable you to use your divine power, he will eat the seal of restraint that you all have, but in return, once they die, they will cease to be gods and their souls will be lost forever. I don't know what forced Poseidon to make such a drastic decision but now that he was corrupted by dark matter, he is lost and will die—

—Can't you forgive him? Besides, is he a god in full swing? How do you intend to defeat him?— asked Apollo on the edge of his wits. He did not want Viggo to start killing gods, which would generate a dangerous precedent that in the future would be an excuse to kill other gods.

—I don't forgive or condemn. I only defend myself from what represents a danger. In thirty years, you will leave the earth and I will have to deal with what you did not want to solve. I won't take risks for a lost god. Apollo, it's just you are believing that Poseidon is still the god you once knew—Viggo took a breath and said in a firm tone of voice —their inactivity gave them freedom to enjoy this world and they never cared about what other gods were doing. They never questioned Poseidon's estrangement or Zeus' behavior. Now, it's time to take the initiative, to prepare humanity. I am your avatar, the representative of all of you. I will stay in this world and protect mankind, but you must know that I cannot do this by myself. I need your cooperation and determination. The games are over. No one is telling them to change their way of life, I just ask them to look at the big picture from now on. More than one must have known a human being they loved as a real family, someone they admired, someone they remember fondly. Please work out of love for those people—
