Deity 2.324

Viggo saw the tall elf with white hair and blue eyes crying as he held Diarmuid. The baby was in Kain's hands for a couple of seconds and then started crying. Kain smiled as tears streamed down his cheeks and held out the baby to Sara, the mother. Kain wiped away tears and asked her a few things as Sara answered briefly and respectfully.

Viggo stared at his father and now that he was a father, he could understand his feelings. Viggo wondered how he would act if his children died and suddenly, he learned that they had left decency? It was like a kind of relief, a second chance for a father who wasn't smart enough to protect his children. Of course, Jason and Odysseus were older when they died.

Viggo took a deep breath and thought about his exchange a couple of days ago with the god Poseidon. It is not as if any of them have met in person or declared their enmity. However, Viggo could not allow the rays launched by that god of the sea to reach the daughters of Jason. His attitude was not justified, but neither was he going to give an excuse if they ever met. Poseidon may have declared Viggo his enemy.

Viggo looked up at the sky and saw the tower of Babel heading northeast. The tower stood immensely, as if it could touch the clouds. At the same time, he wondered if from this distance, Poseidon could reach them. If at this moment he were to throw his rays through the clouds, all Orario would declare him his enemy. However, it's not like Poseidon cares. From the beginning he was away from Orario and the challenges of the gods. Instead, he built his own kingdom and kept his distance, even if Zeus, Hera, or other renowned gods invited him to create their family in Orario.

Viggo looked down and saw Eina sitting in his father's chair. The little elf with emerald hair and eyes took grape kernels from a fountain on the table and poured them into her mouth. Viggo looked aside, saw Miriam's wet nurse, a dark-haired brunette woman carrying the two babies. Viggo came to the table, pulled out a chair and presented it to the woman. However, the woman looked at Miriam, who was her owner and waited for Miriam to give her permission.

Miriam looked at Viggo with a frown. Out of courtesy he should have offered the chair to her but considering that her wet nurse was carrying her daughters, she turned it around and nodded.

The wet nurse in a gesture of shyness looked at Viggo and sat down on the chair.

Viggo looked back at his father while the latter chatted with Sara. The latter was smiling as little Diarmuid calmed down and looked at Kain curiously. Viggo smiled in relief. Kain approached Miriam and spoke to her cordially understanding her character. To Viggo's surprise, Miriam smiled superiorly, but it seems Kain didn't care what she thought. He was just trying to make her feel welcome and supported.

Viggo wondered how his father would deal with Poseidon? Would he kill him or spare his life? Viggo had not yet seen his father's full power. The simple fact of fighting on a physical level, without even using Touki, overwhelmed him. Viggo did not dare to fight using magic because knowing his father, it would have been a total humiliation.

While Viggo thought about all these things, Kain moved to the wet nurse and stopped a meter away from her. Then he looked at Miriam and asked —Can I hold your daughters?—

—Of course, sir— said Miriam —but before that I'd like to tell you something—

—Go ahead— Kain said.

—They may have a bond with Jason, but he's not nearly his father or I'm his wife. I know that you were the husband of Lady Hera, but I have no debt to you. So, I don't owe you anything and I'm not obligated to anything—

—Of course, that's understandable. Jason, my boy, was never too serious a man, so I can't blame you. However, I also want you to understand me. These girls are their legacy, and I can help them whatever they set their minds to. As you can see, I'm an elf and I've traveled enough to know one thing or another. Just think about it, after all, I was the one who educated Jason, Odysseus, and Achilles as an adventurer. Finally, I was not Hera's husband. I still am—

Miriam widened her eyes as she understood what it meant —Where is she?— she asked.

—One thing at a time, don't worry, Hera won't be going anywhere, and I won't be either—

Miriam looked at Kain as if she wanted to strangle him and get the whole truth out of him. Kain smiled and instead of continuing to exchange glances, he looked at the babies in the wet nurse's arms. The woman looked at Kain, tall, with delicate features and long elf ears. His gaze was soft and his smile candid. Kain put his arms close to the baby on the right.

The wet nurse looked at Miriam and she nodded with that dignified attitude she possessed. The wet nurse held the baby to Kain, and the latter held it. She was a little blonde girl like her mother, her hair was fine golden threads. She must have been two years old just like Uriel and Bell. Simply put, Miriam must have left Orario without Jason knowing she was pregnant. Kain could speculate, but if Viggo said they were Jason's daughters, there must be a good reason. After all, his boy had something as rare as clairvoyance.

Suddenly, Kain raised his face and looked south. He could see from the side his house and the side door that led to the kitchen. He saw Aina go out into the yard and look in the same direction. It was the elves' high affinity for magic.

Viggo saw his father looking at the sky in a southwesterly direction. He followed the direction of Kain's gaze, but only saw the blue sky. At the same time, he realized that his aunt Aina was also looking in the same direction.

Kain looked at the wet nurse and handed her the baby —I'm sorry, but I think it would be best if they came into my house. Don't worry, it's totally safe—

The wet nurse accepted the girl and stared at him in a state of confusion.

Kain looked at Miriam and Sara and said —Something is coming, and they will most likely stay inside my house. I promise I'll be back right away—

Sara and Miriam looked at Kain just as confused as the wet nurse. Kain smiled, explaining more would be nonsense when people do not understand affinity or magic. Kain went to the table, took Eina in his arms, and carried her to Aina. The latter looked at Kain, received Eina in her arms and then went to find Sara and Miriam.

Kain emitted invisible touki and made a long jump that made him go through the entire courtyard, the street wall and fall on the street. Kain looked at the horizon and started running without paying attention to passers-by at the time.

At the same time, Viggo issued red touki and imitated his father. Then followed him across the street, they advanced at high speed as people and adventurers looked on. Viggo wanted to ask Kain what he was doing? However, before that, he looked at the horizon and slowed down little by little.

In the distance, in a clear blue sky, clouds were forming at a high speed. Viggo frowned, activated his clairvoyance, and investigated the distance. His vision soared like an eagle, he saw the world small and far away. He crossed Orario in just a few seconds, the fields, the great lake in the center of the continent. He reaches the mountainous region and the pass that led to the Kaios desert. The barren land broke through, and there was nothing but sand and heat in the distance. Viggo crossed the desert and in seconds reached the southern coastal region of the Kaios desert. However, this time he couldn't find the source of the magic that was unfolding.

Viggo cut off his divine power and saw the streets of Orario again. He looked at the sky and noticed that the clouds increased disproportionately as if it were a barrage of snow. The sky was covered and the city of Orario was filled with shadows. Viggo looked at the street and could see his father in the distance. The white hair fluttered with speed. Viggo decided to keep running while being filled with curiosity How was his father going to deal with this? Was he just going to stand there and endure the attack?

The clouds turned black, and thunder was heard.

Viggo kept running to the main avenue, looked for his father with his eyes and saw him further away. It looked like a point advancing down the street. Viggo followed, increased his speed, surpassed the horses and carriages. He took a long leap that made him advance thirty meters in a single instant. He caused a crater in the cobblestone but did not worry and continued.

Then Viggo saw the clouds let out powerful flashes. He stood a hundred meters away from his father and looked at him. The tall white-haired elf stopped in the middle of the street and raised his face looking at the sky.

Viggo saw his father raise his hand as if he wanted to reach the cloud and suddenly, from high in the sky under lightning and hit Kain squarely. Viggo covered his eyes with his hands. Everyone who was on the street at the time did so. The flash was blinding. The thunder continued and a few seconds later another lightning strike struck again.

Viggo regained his vision, but he covered his eyes and looked at his father, in the center of the street, a hundred meters away. Kain... He hadn't even been moved. Nothing around him was damaged, not even his clothes. He was standing, with his right hand pointing to the sky and holding a sphere of energy.

Viggo believed that he had improved, that he had grown in power. His father was stronger, but it would never make such a difference. However, he, his father, the elf without divinity, was holding the lightning bolt of a God with one hand.

Again, another lightning bolt struck Kain. This time, Viggo with his hand as a visor was able to avoid most of the brightness and saw how the lightning went to Kain's hand and branched as if it wanted to disperse, but five meters from the ground, the rays rejoined and fell into Kain's hand. The latter didn't even move. It was just there, holding the energy sphere and absorbing the lightning.

Viggo watched as his father received two more beams of energy and the attack stopped. The next instant the clouds began to fade unnaturally and in less than a minute, the sky was blue and clear again. Everyone had fled or was hiding inside buildings or alleys.

Viggo ran in the direction of his father and once he reached him, Kain, the tall white-haired elf, looked at him.

Kain smiled and raised his right hand showing him the sphere of electricity —Do you know anything about this?— ask

Viggo smiled and said —Yes, Father—

—Boy— Kain said with an awkward smile, shook his head and looked up at the sky —maybe what you got yourself into this time— Then he raised his hand, pointed to the sky with the sphere and discharged all the energy into a single lightning bolt as they let out a loud bang. It was a huge pillar of electricity that reached the height of the Tower of Babel and then vanished.

Viggo was shocked. He could feel a little heat over his head, but it was so diminished that it wasn't even uncomfortable. Then he remembered when he used sunlight and how he left everything wrapped in unbearable heat. Was this why his father was the god the gods fear?
