Chapter 16.

Lee had gotten used to Daisy's offer to drive her whenever she left work. The lady seemed enthusiastic when it came to driving.

All the time she was like,"let me drive you."

After reading through the paperwork she was given and understanding quite a bit,she noted it down in a book for further reference.

When she was done,she got her bag and went to Daisy's office to tell her she was done so they could leave.

Daisy and Lee left the company and Daisy drove to the hospital.

"Sir, what are you doing here!"Mai asked as she stuttered.

Ze was standing outside standing outside Lynn's hospital room.

The bodyguards hadn't let him in yet but he had given them his ID. He had probably introduced himself as her husband.

What scared Mai was Ze Li forcing his way in somehow.

Surprisingly,he just sat aside on a bench near Lynn's room when they didn't let him in. He wasn't even in a rush.

As for Mai's question,he ignored both her and whatever she'd said even though he saw her.

She knew she was in trouble and he already knows she took Lynn away.

Mai wasn't scared of what would happen.

Shortly after, Martin arrived too. It seemed the bodyguards had informed him about Ze Li's arrival.

Immediately he saw his "son in law", he started hitting him.

Ze was unprepared for the hit as he hadn't seen Martin, his nose started bleeding.

His right cheek hurt while his jaw felt like it would snap.

"Long time no see father," he said.

Lee and Daisy had just arrived not too long ago and had witnessed Martin's attack.

What surprised everybody around was Ze Li's nonchalance and thick skin.

Any normal person who had done all this wouldn't even appear here. To top it all off,he was talking to Martin like they were okay.

Like nothing happened.

"How dare you come here?" Martin asked. His voice was loud and harsh, clearly expressing his anger.

"Isn't it obvious, Lynn is my wife."

I'm here as her husband,he replied.

"You don't have the right to say that," Martin retorted.

Lynn was in this condition because of him. Did he not feel even a bit of remorse? If not,a bit of shame so he wouldn't show up here.

"I do, father," Ze Li replied. His voice was too calm as though they were just chatting. Like this was nothing serious.

Martin felt his head hurt talking to Ze Li,he also couldn't take it being called father by this monster.

The relationship between them ended a long time ago. Now,they were only enemies.

"Take him out of the building," he ordered the bodyguards.

Ze wasn't a weak man and he'd be able to defeat these men, Martin just didn't care anymore. He wanted the man gone.

"Sir, I think you should stop," a voice sounded.

It was Lorenzo who had just come to the place where they were.

Lee and Daisy looked at each other while anticipating what happens next while Martin signalled the bodyguards to stop.

"I know you can't accept this but he should be here," he said.

Everybody was shocked by the statement except for Ze Li.

"What are you saying, you know what he did?" Martin asked.

They all wanted to ask this same question.

It didn't make sense that he'd just be let in.

"Mrs. Zang is going to wake up in a few minutes,she will need to see someone she recognizes," Lorenzo explained patiently.

The fact that Lynn was going to wake up made them happy but they weren't as convinced when it came to letting Ze Li in.

"Your daughter lost her memory before,she won't recognize you,it can disrupt her healing process if she was around people she didn't know, didn't trust," Lorenzo added on.

As a father, Martin felt bad that his daughter didn't remember him. It felt even worse that she remembered and trusted Ze Li. The reason behind everything.

He had to choose between Lynn's recovery and displaying his dislike for her husband.

Lee was surprised that Lynn lost her memory and even forgot her family. These things were confusing her.

Why didn't they ever reach out to her then?

In the end, Ze Li was let into Lynn's room. There were cameras inside and a bodyguard too in case of anything.

Martin had decided this with alot of compulsion and pain. Why did the bad people have so many chances?

The cameras only recorded pictures so they couldn't hear what he'd say.

Ze Li was just seen going to Lynn's bed and holding her hand.

In a few minutes,she did wake up just like they were told.

Her gaze was hazy and she looked lost. Like she hadn't yet realized what was going on.

After another short wait,she saw Ze Li who was right beside her. Her expression was of surprise and happiness.

To almost everybody,the outsiders, even the people watching the footage, Ze Li and Lynn were a pair made in heaven. Ze Li was like the life force of his wife.

The day he comes to the hospital, surprisingly is the same day Lynn wakes up. The two also had the same expression in their eyes.

The relief of having seen each other again after being separated.

Nothing Lynn did showed fear, she didn't look like someone who was meeting her abuser. It was more like lovers meeting.

Martin felt angry again. He wanted to do something,to go and hit Ze Li so hard. His fury was just being stored inside thus leading to more and more fury being built up in him.

Lee was also having a hard time understanding things once again while Daisy didn't pay attention to these things anymore.

Mai however, was sad. Ze Li's look showed how much he loved Lynn. How could someone fake nearly everything, including love?

And how can people easily forget what was done to them. How could Lynn forget all the bad things her husband did to her?

She was in this condition because of him.

Mai had risked her all to help Lynn. She wouldn't be allowed into the Zang mansion again if Lynn chose to stay with Ze Li.

They regarded her a betrayer now. She could even be arrested. She just hoped that Lynn chose to be wiser this time.

This prayer was almost impossible because of how much Lynn loved Ze Li.
