Chapter 8. ADPOTED. Back to Mr Arrogant

Meredith walked out of the pent house,  it was her dad, hopefully her Aunt Averly and uncle Mason doesn't know about the pent house. Her dad signed the pent House into her name when she graduated from Harvard 3 years ago. Meredith went to get groceries from a supermarket miles away from her pent house. 

She is in a supermarket. ABBY'S SUPERMARKET.  Andrews said, the driver drove towards the supermarket following the Google navigation map directions. There she is Sanjay said pointing to Meredith with lots of shopping bags with her. Meredith decided to walk since the supermarket was just miles away. Carlos and Sanjay walked behind Meredith, before she knew it her nose was covered with a piece of cloth with a perfume that made her faint instantly.  So sorry but you wouldn't be needing this, Carlos said and gave the shopping bags of groceries to a beggar across the street, Max ignited the engine and drove away. We've got her boss, Andrews said over the phone. Alec smirked dangerously and hanged up.

Meredith woke up after so many hours, the room was tinted black⚫ she couldn't see through the darkness, when Alec sensed she was awake already he simper widely looking do accomplished because he had beat her in her own little game, she was surely gonna pay. 

Someone helped me, Meredith whispered in between her sobs, her hands were tied to the back, it seems as if her hands wanted to pull off her body if it's not untied. How was your little hoilday sweetie? Alec smirked from the dark. Meredith began to sob softly when she found out it was Alec who had her adopted and brought her back to Los Angelos. When were you planning on coming back from your hoilday? Meredith could sense horror and rage in his voice even if she couldn't see his face. How dare you think of running away from Califonia? Alec asked angry, he wanted to know why.

Am sorry Alec  😞 Meredith replied, she was more terrified than she has ever been. Just sorry wouldn't make up for what you did wifey, you made a fool of me, my mom prepared a perfect dinner just to welcome you and what did you do? You ran away. Alec explained, Meredith felt bad for running away in the first place and making a fool of Alec in front of him in front of his family.

Am sorry, I just wanted to get away Meredith pouted sobbing gently. I warned you, but you refused to listen. Like I've promised I we treat you like a mere property and even worst. Alec scowl at Meredith. From now on wards, you life begins and ends in this room, you don't deserve freedom and you wouldn't get it either. You only live this room when I ask you to. Alec growled at Meredith glancing at her with absolute grimace like she was a piece of indiscreet property. That hurt Meredith so much, she felt like melting away. Meredith continued to wail and sob like a hungry 5 years old child. And a reminder, don't make me angry than I already am. With that Alec walked away. Sanjay removed the ropes from bonding her. Meredith regretted her actions, couldn't he understand what she was going through then why must he punish her this way? He warned her so this was the consequences of her actions.

Meredith cried her eyes out until she slept off. Meredith felt like a prisoner, how is she going to cope? She felt so lonely already, only God knew how long she we have to be locked up.

Alec too felt so bad for treating her that way, but he needed to teach her a valuable lesson she we never forget in her life. Meredith sat on the floor, resting her head on the door waiting for a miracle to happen or may be someone to help her. The truth was there was no one to help her from Alec. Alec was still working on his laptop when a call came across his phone, it was his mom. Hello ma' Alec greeted, he just knew his mom wanted to talk to Meredith. Where's your finacee Alexander? Mrs Bells asked concerned. She is uhhh, she is in the bath room, Alec lied, he wasn't good in lying, his mom knew he was lying,  she just didn't want to press on it. Am gonna hung up and make her call you right now. Alec said and hanged up before his mom could say anything. Alec walked over to Meredith's room and suddenly opened the door, the sight before him wasn't pleasing but he still had to do it to teach her a very good lesson. Meredith was sitting on the floor next to her bed, legs covered her chest as if she was afraid of the dark. Meredith didn't flinched when she saw him walk in gracefully. Alec sat on the bed next to her and dragged Meredith up. Clean up, mom wants to talk to you, it's video call. Alec walked her to the bathroom, Meredith washed her face and arranged her head before walking back to the bedroom. 

I want you to fix what you've broken. My mom is growing suspicious of us, clear the doubts. Alec snapped angrily giving her his pad, on the screen was Mrs Bells looking good graceful as well, she is beautiful,  he got his eyes from his mom and hair from his dad. She was the reason why Alec was so handsome. Damn you would think his mom was his girlfriend. 

Hi ma' Meredith suddenly said, it was evident in her voice that she was weak and has been crying 😢.  Oh my God. The pride of our family, Mrs Bells replied staring at her like she was the most adorable thing she has ever saw. It broke my heart thar you left without saying hi to your mother~in~law. Mrs Bells expressed her grief. Am sorry ma' it wouldn't happen again. Meredith assured. Have you been crying? Mrs Bells asked suddenly out of the blues. Meredith was speechless.  She just stared blankly at the scene. Where is that husband of yours? Mrs Bells demanded. Alec wrapped his hands around Meredith lovingly acting in front if his mom. Alec kissed her cheeks when he sensed the tension.

Did you make my baby cry? Mrs Bells asked. Meredith looked at Alec, he too was speechless.  No, mom, I would never make her cry. Alec said as If he meant it. He kissed her cheeks to maybe prove it to his mom. Baby, I know it if someone has been crying,  so you better don't lie to me both of you. She snapped scrutinying the both of them. 

I, I,  was at fault.  Meredith said bowing her heads, her eyes where planning to rain heavily. Alec rubbed her back prepharp to make her stop crying.  She hmmm, lost one of her patients today mom, that's the reason for her tears. Alec lied, he was so bad at telling lies but he seriously had to.

Ohh. Darling,  it's not your fault.  Mrs Bells winged, am so sorry 😞Jade walked into the conversation and found the awkward moment.  Meredith was trying not to cry but her eyes really had a very different plan for her today.  Alec hugged Meredith patting her back like an ideal husband who would do anything for his wife's happiness. What happened,  did someone die or something? Jade asked.  No honey, our baby lost a patient today, she's feeling so bad about it. Mrs Bells explained.  Oh, it's gonna be alright. This wouldn't have happened if you had stopped her from working Alexander,  she should work for you alone not someone else, you've gat all the money to last your generation.  I blame you for this and what you've made her pass through today.  Jade whirled supersubtley. She's stubborn,  it's not entirely my fault,  she's really a pain in my flesh.  Alec pinged, if only they knew why she was crying and to think he was the one his parents blame and also the one Comforting her right now.

How dare you say that about my daughter~in~law? Mrs Bells wailed. I get it, she is your baby now, but you should take my side some times, she's not as innocent as you see her,

SELF STARVED. 

A thought ran across Meredith's mind, she remembered not eating her foods when she was in desperate needs of something but her parents refuse to give it. She was gonna do that too, she we pretend to eat the foods while she throws it away and remain hungry maybe Alec we forgive her then and let her out of the room. Meredith walked to the vanity table searching for a bag or something where she could dispose the food. Her sight caught the black trash can for burning pieces of documents and paper, Meredith arranged paper 📃 into it and kept it beside her bed stand. Her door was opened from outside, Benny, Laura, and Mabel brought her food in a fancy pink tray, they arranged it on her glass table they bowed graciously. Do you need any thing else ma'am Benny asked, she had brown hair large eyes that made her look beautiful, she was standing in the middle.  No, you all can leave. Meredith replied. Benny lead them out of the room. The body guards outside locked the door from outside. As soon as the door was shot, Meredith flew from the bed and uncovered the dishes, oh my, it looks yummy 😋 Meredith whispered to herself,  but she really had to do this if she was serious about leaving this room. Meredith dished all the food into the trash can and covered it up with some piece of paper before covering with with it actual cover. She took her bath and turned on the TV.  After about an hour Benny, Laura and Mabel came to remove the dishes. 

 When it was exactly 7pm Meredith's maids came in with dinner she disposed the food into the trash can again. After 1 hour her maid removed the dishes. Meredith went to have her warm bath before going to bed.

THE NEXT MORNING....

Meredith woke up late, shextook her bath and decided to do some workout before breakfast .  When she was served breakfast she disposed it in the trash can, nobody knew about her little plan, it was between herself and herself alone. This continued for 3 more days. Meredith still refused to eat, she only drank water when she felt it was necessary or when she felt like it.

Meredith walked out of bed exhausted,  tired, she had no strength left in her body. Walking towards the bathroom Meredith suddenly fell and fainted at the spot.  After 1 hour still on the floor the door suddenly opened. Her maids walked in to serve her breakfast as usual. The sight they saw was not amazing at all, Benny mistakenly let the dishes fall out of her hand and she ran to Meredith. Quick, inform Sanjay,  Benny ordered, they were not in any position to go to Alec.

Benny splashed water on Meredith's face she didn't flinched or move. Oh my, we are so in for it, Laura suddenly said, Benny raised Meredith's hand it fell back to its formal position. Benny quickly put her head to feel her heartbeat.  Quick let put her on the bed, she's still breathing Benny mugged, they quickly put her on her bed. Alec banged in slamming the door.

What happened to her? He yelled walking to her on the bed. Meredith's face was so white and pale, her lips lost it colour,  it turned white as if she was put in a refrigerating room. Alec slashed water on her face still she didn't move. His parents we kill him If they find out what has happened to Meredith. Call the doctor.  Alec yelled, this woman was making him crazy, he rolled his hand all over his head.

The doctor came after 30 minutes,  he examined Meredith's condition.  It's not a big deal Mr Alexander,  she is just stressed,  depressed and so so weak. Like she hasn't eaten or something similar to that, self starved maybe. James said packing his stuff. Weak? She does nothing yet she's weak. It felt confusing to Alec. Sanjay walked the doctor to the door and summoned Benny, Laura and Mabel. Can you three explain to me what happened? Alec. Scrowled angrily losing his patience 

We always served her food, and when we return she done eating. Laura replied,  she has always been the fearful one amongst them. We don't know what happened to her,  or why she is so weak. Mabel completed. If you served her in meals regularly then that means she doesn't even touch them but she make it seem as if she ate the food, Alec whispered to himself. Get out, Alec growled they ran out as fast as their legs could carry them.

She refused to eat her food, does she want to kill herself?. Alec hated himself for locking her up and there was a hole in his heart, walking around and pacing in his own speed his leg hit the trash can, the trash can fell revealing the content in it, it was the foods from 4 days ago and it was having a bad odour. Alec took meredith to his room while her maid cleaned her room. Alec was growing so impatient seeing her unconscious on the bed. What do I do with you Meredith? Why are you so stubborn? Alec asked sitting next to her. He knew that if he continues to sit here, he we keep blaming himself for what happened to her. Alec walked out of the room with rage.

Sir, Mr Bill Baker wants to have dinner with you by 8: 30pm tonight at THE KINGS' restaurant. Thomas said over the phone. He was Alec's personal Assistant.  Cancel my schedule Tom, including the dinner with Mr Bill Baker. Alec replied trying to sound calm. But sir,  Mr Bill Baker has given his consent after 3 weeks. To he'll with him and his consent, I don't chase business partners, besides he should be happy to do business with me. Alec hanged up.
