Riajuu Realisation

"NOOOooooo! How did that Riajuu get it better than me!" Michael chuckles at Megumin's baleful wale as he waits in his own room.

"Huh, come to think of it... I am a Riajuu now, aren't I?... I'm not sure how to feel about this." he mutters to himself.

Five minutes later, Megumin escapes from the room as Tiffania chases her with some fresh Apprentice robes in her arms, "These help with Destruction magic! Explosions, Megumin!"

"No! I won't wear those boring things!" she exclaims, but for some reason completely goes limp and falls on her face as she's running away.

*Ruuuuumbbbbllleee*

The young girl blushes, "A-no... I'll wear them for food...?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the end, they managed to get Megumin to wear the Apprentice robes and escorted her to the College's kitchens. Despite being a short young girl, she ate more than both Michael and Tiffania combined.

She was introduced to their friends in the College, Borvir, Yisra, Ilas, etc. But Michael was most focussed on having Megumin learn about Tamriel itself. As there weren't any 'worthwhile' lectures any time soon, Michael, Charlotte, Illococoo, Tiffania, and Megumin sat together and conversed.

"So, there isn't a Demon King in this world?" Megumin incredulously asks.

"Demon King?" Tiffania starts, "That sounds..."

"Stupid." Illococoo finishes, "Sounds like something in a fairy tale!"

Megumin shakes her head, "No! He's really evil and lives in a giant castle surrounded by a magical barrier that not even the Crimson Demon clan could break! His Demon General's harass villages and steal maidens and..." she trails off, realising just how 'story-like' the situation sounds. "It's not! Maybe this would is so boring that no one would bother to take it over!"

"I wouldn't say that... We don't have Demon Kings here, Megumin. We have Demon Gods called Daedric Princes. Gods of rape, torture, cannibals, and whatever else you can think of. These gods have invaded this world more than once so, trump that." Michael retorts.

...

"What about the Adventurers Guild? There should be one if 'Demon Gods' exist, right?"

Everyone shakes their heads, "What's an Adventurers Guild?" Illococoo asks, prompting Megumin to pull out her Guild Card, the card that'd been covered in snot during her mini-mental breakdown.

"There must be one! My Guild Card is blank, so I won't be able to level up without a Guild!" she exclaims while frantically tapping her card.

"Level up?" Charlotte parrots, confused at the terminology.

The explosion girl nods, "Level ups! Like, killing monsters gives you experience points that you can use to get stronger... How else would you learn things like spells and combat techniques!?"

...

"So, you can't learn spells unless you do it through the Guild Cards?" Michael asks, having wondered if he and the girls should try and get registered for it. Sure, he had the Book of Heroes already, but gaining free abilities sounded like a massive buff to the group. "Does that mean you can't cast any spells now that your card is blank?"

Megumi pauses for a moment before shaking her head, "I think I can still do it... But learning more things or making my explosions stronger is impossible!"

Michael shrugs, "Well, there's no Guild in this world. You have to learn everything manually, including magic." he holds up his hand and conjures a small fire. "We've actually had you enrolled in a place called Winterhold College, the best place in Skyrim to learn magic..."

Megumin gives an odd look, "But how? I don't understand how you can learn spells without levelling up..."

"Think of it like this, Megumin. Did you need to level up to learn the alphabet? Or to use numbers? Did you need the Guild Cards to learn how to walk when you were younger? It's like that."

"Is... That so... Well then, I suppose I'll have to try it." she leans forwards, "What's the most powerful magic you can learn here?"

"Well... It depends on the person I think. Some say that Conjuration is the best, the magic Tiffania used to summon you, while others say Destruction is the strongest. Personally, I think the Thu'um has the highest potential, but that's just me." Michael shrugs, getting a smug grin from Illococoo.

"Maybe you should try to learn Restoration since you can already use-" Tiffania starts but is interrupted as Megumin raises her hand.

"I want to learn Destruction magic." she firmly states, "But first, can you show me it?"

"Only if you show us your magic as well." Michael decides as he stands, the others following along.

Megumin smiles, "Deal!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The group file out and head to the Arch-Mage's quarters to ask for his permission to use his rooftop. The reason for this was simple, Michael didn't want anyone seeing Megumin using her magic and attracting attention for it. If they had the Arch-Mage with them they could pawn on the trouble onto him, plus, they'd be able to see if they could learn said magic, or if Megumin could improve it without the use of the Guild Cards. Lastly, he wanted to see just how devastating her magic was... In the Anime, it'd looked pretty impressive, but if he ever wanted to have her use it in a practical situation, he'd need to be aware of its limits... Plus, explosions were cool.

The Arch-Mage was all too eager to accept, wishing to sees this form of magic that was 'new' even to Michael and the girls, who'd already shown him magic never seen before in this world. He'd even decided to make it a sort of competition for the group. They gathered atop the roof which overlooked the ocean north which was covered in many thick pieces of flat ice that floated atop the water. There were a few islands around too, but they were going to aim away from those in case someone was on or near them.

Despite seeing this many times before, Michael and the group were continually surprised at the sheer beauty of the place. Megumin's reaction was even more prominent, as there wasn't a place like this back in her original world. It takes a while to calm her down again to be perfectly honest...

"I suppose I'll go first then." Tiffania mutters, stepping forwards and pointing her wand at the ice-covered ocean. The others watch with interest as she begins chanting a spell, the Arch-Mage, in particular, taking notice as chants were rarely used outside of specific rituals.

"Rasengan!" she shouts, using the name that Michael had given to her self-created spell.
