Chapter 30

AS promised, Rio really didn't go to the office today. Last night he had called Rizal to handle all his schedules for today, Rizal was one of his confidants in the office as well as his personal secretary. And of course Rizal took orders from Rio, even though Rio didn't tell him the reason for the day off.

Laras had been ready since eight in the morning because she needed to prepare breakfast for Reza and Rafi. Laras wore a large black jacket and a scarf wrapped around her long neck to cover the cuts and bruises that had not yet disappeared from her tan skin. Don't forget to wear a white mask to cover part of her still red face.

"Why do you look like that?" asked Rio who had just changed into his more casual clothes.

"Rio? That. I don't want people to see my appearance, what will people say later. What's more, I don't want people to know that Rio Thomas is with a stranger today." She answered slowly, she straightened her scarf which was a little loose.

"Are you sure?"

Laras nodded confidently. Though they could have gone to a quiet place right?

"Then wait for me a moment."

Rio walked back to his wardrobe, he took his jeans jacket , black hat and a mask to cover half of his face. Just like how Laras looks now.

"Let's go." Rio said with the footsteps he carried towards the bedroom door.

"Does You need to do that too? It's enough for me to cover my face."

"No, don't worry. Now let's go." he said again.

Rio and Laras finally walked out down the stairs to go to the first floor to the trunk of the car. In the living room the two of them met Rafi who was busy watching television with a box of snacks on his lap. Incidentally today the school did not carry out teaching and learning activities.

"Gosh!!" Rafi jumped in surprise when he saw two apparitions not far from his current position. "Yeah! What are you two doing?! Gosh, brother. Why do you two look like that? Are you two a celebrity couple?" he asked angrily to his Brother and Sister.

"Shut up you brat__you don't know anything. You'd better continue watching your cartoons." Rio took off the mask he was wearing and was now glaring at Rafi.

"Where's Reza?" asked Laras.

"Reza? He hasn't left the room since. Maybe he's still sleeping."

Laras nodded.

"I already made breakfast. Call Reza too, eh___!!" Before Laras's sentence was finished, Rio's hand grabbed her hand first.

"We are leaving." Said Rio as he kept pulling Laras to go with him.

Side of Reza.

Reza parted the curtains in his room, staring at the front yard of his house. He looked at Rio's car which was now out of their house area.

Reza took his cell phone which he put on the table and typed something there.

The journey takes almost an hour and a half to go to the City Park. They both went to the tulip garden which was there, Rio wanted to go to see the tulips. Rio and Laras got off at the same time as they arrived at the park's parking area. The air there is quite cool, enough to give Laras and the baby he's carrying a refreshment for now, Rio thought. This is also a sign of his apology. Actually he got a recommendation from Rafi.

Laras slowly lowered the pet hat she was wearing. Because now the people who were visiting were staring at Her, it was more precisely at the two of them because of their quite closed appearance.

"Never mind those people." Said Rio who glanced at Laras.

"Yes" she answered slowly.

"This." Rio raised his hand slightly in the air signaling for Laras to take his hand. Laras stared at the hand for a moment before Laras grabbed the hem of Rio's jacket. Not his hands.

Rio stopped.

His seagull-like eyes stared intently at the hem of his jacket which Laras was holding.

"why?"

"Not like that"

"Then?"

"Stupid." Rio stomped his hand slowly making Laras's grip off. "I should have known you were an idiot." Rio slowly hooked his index finger to Laras's little finger. He pulled slowly until now Rio's fingers were holding Laras's fingers.

"It's better, people won't stare at us anymore." Rio pulled Laras slowly to continue their journey.

There was no conversation going on between the two of them, until they saw a park bench there.

"Want to rest for a bit?" Rio asked Laras.

"Sure"

Rio who was still holding Laras's hand took Laras with him. He let go of the grip when they both arrived in front of the long bench.

Laras was the first to sit Herself on the bench. Looking at the tulip flower beds which are partly not fully bloomed because now it is not yet spring.

"About what happened that night."

Laras clenched his fists.

"I don't want to talk about it Rio." Laras answered while still looking straight ahead. "I don't want to remember it, just when you made me carry my baby. Don't say anything more. I don't want to remember those times."

Rio was silent, he saw Laras's hands tightened their grip on each other.

"Okay I won't go into that, but remember, it's our baby, not just yours, one more thing. I want to ask you one thing."

"What?"

"Why do you want to keep the baby so much? Most people would abort it."

Laras smiled a little.

"How could I not have the heart not to defend it, I'm not that bad. This baby is innocent, he just came at the wrong time. But it's not because I don't want it, you must understand."

Rio glanced at Laras who was now stroking her stomach before looking straight ahead. They were both silent for a long time, suddenly Rio felt his cell phone vibrate in his pocket.

"wait a minute here"

Rio stood up and walked a little away from Laras's position to pick up his phone. He was talking to someone on the other side while occasionally glancing at Laras. About two minutes of talking Rio turned off his phone.

"Laras." Called him when he returned to Laras's place.

"Hmmm..."

"Can I leave you? I can call the driver for you now."

Laras looked up.

"No need, I can go home later. I can use a taxi. If you have an urgent need, just go Rio."

"Good, then I'll go"

Rio turned and jogged leaving Laras who was now staring at the departure.

Laras turned to stare at her stomach.

"Be patient, Mama will get out of the house. Mama is no longer in pain. In fact you have made Mama aware of all the lies that happened."

After speaking, Laras took out her cell phone to call someone.

"Hello Reza? Can you pick me up? Looks like Rio has an urgent need."

Laras smiled softly.

"Thank you"

Side of Reza.

Davis turned off his phone with Laras. He stared at the dead phone screen with a blank stare.

"I won't let you leave my side, Laras."

Rio of side

Not far from the park area Rio is now coming to someone who is doing work here.

"Dinda." He waved at Dinda who had just finished her photoshoot.

"Rio?" she asked surprised when she saw Rio's very secretive appearance. And she was very surprised when she saw the bruises on her lover's face. "Are you fighting?"

Rio touched Dinda's palm which touched His cheek.

"When I get mad at you, I take it out on someone else. We fight and it's like this."

"shh Rio, why are you like that. I'm sorry, just calm down. I've already canceled the contract. I'm really sorry."

Rio shook his head.

"It's okay, want some lunch? I'm hungry."

Dinda nodded.

She quickly wrapped her arms around Rio's arm and walked away after asking the manager's permission.

"I'm sorry Dinda, looks like I have to stop here."
