Chapter 88: A heartbreaking news.

~Stefan's pov~

I'm so angry that my mate has to go through a lot. All I wanted now was to take away her pain even if it meant killing the only person that traumatized her.

Standing in front of the royal princess's office, I opened the door and walked in. Here, she stood quite a distance away from me.

"I know you would come." She said,

I started walking further but stopped in the middle of the large office. "You know everything, why don't you start by telling me what really happened to my mate?." I asked.

She scoffed at first and then it turned to a real long laugh. She turned to look at me.

"Why do you think that I always disagree with you?." I shrugged…

"Because you're my mother who didn't take me as your son." I replied.

She nodded, "Accurate. I gave birth to you but I had no hand in making you evil."

"If you had been there, you could have stopped him from making us killers. Just an if could have made me a better man." There was silence.

"Why don't we stick to why you're here?. I found the dead girls in the forest, one of which I knew was the chosen one. They were strong enough to keep breathing after being shot with a silver bullet."

"What?. No one could survive such an attack , let alone humans." I said.

"But they did. Those girls ain't ordinary humans. They were created for a purpose, so they couldn't be killed just like that, they were powerful."

"Who shot them?." I asked and she turned away and started walking to sit on her office chair. I teleported to the table and hit my hand on the table. It left with a loud bang.

"I asked again, who shot them?."

She looked right into my eyes."You don't wish to know…"

I hit my hand harder on the table, and that created a hole. "Who fucking shot them?." I yelled.

"You…" The black veins crawling up my neck disappeared quickly and the rage on my eyes turned to shock. "I did.." My hands began shaking, I staggered backwards..

"Eight eyes old, your evil father took you to hunt, you were so young, very innocent. You watched him kill their mother and put their house on fire. You saw it all, and then when he got to know that those children were alive, he asked you to go after them. Poor Stefan, you couldn't stop the urge to kill, to make your father proud, to show him that you're strong enough to be a hunter."

Memories came flooding, Aaron was sick, dad took me for hunting, I had trained with the kids, won them but dad said it wasn't enough, he wanted to see more.

I could remember running after the two girls, they were my hunts. I thought they would get away and dad would punish me forever, luck was on me when one of them lost balance and fell. I thought if I killed one of them, my dad's punishment wouldn't be severe but then I saw the other one standing and urging her to continue, but I wouldn't let them go. I fired, got her and then shot the other girl.

"Do you see why I resent you now?. You're never good for her, and you can never be."

~Wendy Ursula's pov ~

They left me alone in the clan. No one to talk to, everyone left me. I've made up my mind to leave. Go where?.

To anywhere.

I am just like a lost sheep, having nowhere to go, lost everything, my home, family and friends because of my greed. I've lost hope.

Standing on a small bridge with my luggage, I looked across the lake. Feeling the beauty of nature and the winter cold sweeping pass me, I could also watch the snow fall onto my hand.

I remembered them, my friends, mate and I skating in the snow. My eyes welled up and I sniffed in the tears building at the corner of my eyes.

A black jeep stopped in front of me and I turned. I rolled my eyes, seeing the vampire prince climbing down from the car. I turned. I've been avoiding anything that has to do with him.

"Ignoring my calls?." He asked.

"Hm mm." I responded.

"You know you've lost, huh." I looked at him. He was in his casual wear, just pale. The cold weather is not affecting him in any way.

"It is better that I lost with dignity." I said and he scoffed, "Who's talking about dignity?."

"Me. You know, you've fallen woefully, all the time. You kept trying.."

"It is better than completely being a loser."

"You would never have her. Never." I added..

"I want to make it work, you and me, work together." He said.

Using me to get what he wants..interesting.

"I do not care about it anymore. Good luck…" I carried my luggage and started walking away.

"You know you're a bitch, huh" I heard him ask. "I know..dickhead.." I replied not turning back to look at him.

I pushed the door to the restaurant open and walked in. Sitting in a booth, I ordered baked salmon with grapefruit salad. I looked around the room, admiring the Christmas decorations displayed in the room. I could also notice that each booth had a spouse with them.

"Hey, cutie." A voice made me look up, a man was standing and smiling down at me. I rolled my eyes..

"Ladies like you are lonely. They get into trouble a lot, like their lovers sending them packing on christmas eve." I sent him a glare.

"It's a harmless joke." He mused.

"Leave me alone." I threatened, trying to scare him away.

"Calm down, There's nothing a witch can do to me, let alone a female one."

What?. "Don't be surprised, we all have secrets to keep, " He leaned forward, "I'm a dragon and you're my mate." He whispered.

"What the heck are you talking about?." I asked. He pointed at my shoulder, looking over my shoulder, my cardigan was hanging loosely at my arm and I could see a dragon head popping into view. A second phase mate?.
