Chapter 90: The war.

"We're losing, the vampires have taken over the coast. I also heard the dark witches are helping them." The messengers reported..

"Keep your eyes on the vampires. While I talk to your father." Mom said darkly, looking at the twins as if they were their father and disappeared out of the room.

We had been standing around the table, the war already broke out and the vampires had accommodated other species against us. I had wished to leave the castle but none of them wanted me to move an inch. I am the chosen one, people look up to me for protection but the white witches guarded me down like their life depended on them.

Jake was worse than I thought. He would fight against the other clans and make them his cohorts by force or you die. I heard he wiped off the Wendigo. Wendigos are very powerful creatures with the same strength level as an Alpha Werewolf. Something that makes Wendigos weak is their hunger for human flesh. For vampires with the highest population to wipe off such powerful creatures, they were really strong and waxing daily.

I and Stefan had been at loggerheads since the war began. I had made an attempt to escape multiple times but he caught me down and asked the others to keep watch over me. I wouldn't talk to him nor to any of them supporting him. And now, he is planning to wage war against the vampires, and do what again, kill the men forced into battle.

"We're not supposed to fight them, waging war now is killing the people I have to protect." I said.

"You're meant to protect humans and not creatures like this. We fight who fights us, we kill who kills us and we save who saves us." Stefan yelled. He was against me again.

I faced him, looking directly at his eyes with anger.

"No. I am supposed to stop the war, I am given responsibilities to protect these people, sitting in this goddamn place, and watching the people I'm supposed to protect killed in battle is a crime. It means I'm not who they think I am."

"You think you can do it, huh." He shakes his head,

"I challenge you into a fight." I smirked..

"This is not necessary Stefan, you are taking things far and Elena…" Cali started and I cut her off. "Challenge accepted." I replied, he narrowed his eyes at me, looking surprised that I was able to accept his demands.

I had trained hard in the field, I could count how many days I had trained for the war and they think I'm not strong enough. The sun had gone down and mom hadn't arrived since morning. The white witches were starting to get scared since she left. She was our only hope of winning.

This time, I was standing in front of Stefan, as we glared at each other, no one had spoken to each other since morning and Stefan was too proud to cut off the challenge. People had gathered around the field, and a hand touched my shoulder.

"Stefan has gone cray cray. And you still have a chance to back out." Cali muttered.

"I got this.."

I went over and chose my weapon, the field was quiet as a graveYard.

"Don't take it easy on me." I whispered and he smirked, "So much confidence, huh." He turned me around and kicked me, and I fell with a thud on the sand. "You're weak." He spat. I slowly got up, then attacked him, I kicked his tummy and he shifted back as if trying to show me that the kick was nothing.

I teleported to his side, gave him blows on his limbs and kicked his groin. An owwwll escape from everyone's lips. Stefan was shocked, his knees hit the ground as he groaned.

I shook my head at him and turned, started walking away and then my instinct told me that a blow was coming behind me, I dodged the blow, turned around and kicked him off the ground, then sent him flying to the far end of the field.

It was as if my world stopped when I heard that crack, the pain hit my body and seized me on the floor, I was violently shaking and as my knees hit the floor, I screamed his name. "Stefan!!!.."

Stefan was stubborn. He shouldn't have used the instinct move, something done unknown can cause death to a normal witch. But he is lucky to be a royal witch.

"I'm sorry." I muttered and kissed his hand.

"No, I underestimated you. Who taught you that move?." He asked and I chuckled, "Noami.." I responded, He smiled but nodded, "I'm proud of you,"

"Don't look down on me again. Or I kick your ass.." I joked and he laughed. "Don't you ever kick my dick again."

"It was the right place to teach you a lesson." I said...he cocked his brows, "That was a terrible move." He said and I rolled my eyes at him.

Forty eight hours after my mom left, we had given up that she might have been kidnapped by Stefan's dad. I looked at the sad faces of others around,

"We train more today, Aaron. I need you to pick out some men now, everyone get ready to save the princess." I gave orders and dismissed them.

I stood beside Stefan and kissed his cheek. I had put him into a deep sleep so that he could heal faster. I turned to Cali.

'I and Aaron will find a way to save my mother while you and Stefan run things over here. I'm counting on you."

"Please be careful.." She told me. I hugged her and walked out to address the men which Aaron had picked.

"The war has started, it is either life or death but we must do all we can to save our lives and families. I am going to divide you, each 10 of you shall be grouped in roles. The Alpha role must consist of very strong men. You must follow me to save my mother and also to save the sirens. The other twenty will be notified soon.." I finished..

"Elena.." I turned to see Madam Maggret standing behind me. "I want to talk to you two." She said to me and julia. We moved away from earshot.

"The building at Alaska has been completed. Your mother had built an empire, a place for refuge, capable of accommodating supernatural creatures and humans. "
