S-familiars

Three days have passed.

The room of Kara was now by no means empty.

'This is amazing,' Kara said calmly. His three black pearl earrings were shining faintly like stardust.

Right now, he was sitting at his desk in the executive room all alone. Playing right before his eyes were the perception of the three S-familiar wolves which were currently running in rounds around the town.

'I never thought this would be so convenient. I can just imagine the envy of the shadow elders when they see this, hehe,' he thought.

The S-familiars he acquired from putting the three black pearl earrings were quite admiring.

May was unaware of it. But at the same time she was awakened and had connected to his body which was like her host now, he had also acquired something in return.

That was not those emotions she had that he now shares with her.

Instead, it was this power that could kept reminding him and notifying him when some essential situation was to occur.

Not only that, it could also tell him what was currently happening.

'When I first saw words suddenly popped up in the air and hear a voice in my consciousness, I could sill remember how bizarre I felt.'

As he was thinking, the videos of the three S-familiar wolves which was jumping, running, and walking around the vicinity of the town continued to play.

'This is really amazing. It's like I have eyes that can let me see anywhere now as long as my wolves is there.'

After a moment though, Kara started making the wolves go into different opposite directions from each other, but all three of them were doing something similar. They were all running away from the town specifically away from the house of Kara which he was currently in position.

There was one thing that Kara was intending to understand about this power for now.

'I now understand their power. Even when they are now turned to S-familiars, these wolves' powers are still similar. From what I observed, it has even lessened. I guess that's the side effect of this power. I guess I just need to find out if I can let these wolves get stronger in the future.'

Dusts kept flying as soon as the wolves which were transparent went outside the gates of the town. If anyone could have seen it, they would have thought there were some fast little rabbits running.

Nevertheless, that wasn't the case.

That wasn't the thing he wanted to do.

'Let's see how far I could command these S-familiars…'

After three minutes, Kara found that he still could see the vision of the three wolves. They were now very far from each other, they were even in places Kara had still yet to check out personally. But there was something strange.

'What is this?' He asked, 'For some reason, I still could feel them, and nothing is even strange.'

Kara felt and saw that the S-Familiar wolves were already very far. They were fast to begin with so that was expected. Thus, Kara decided to make them come back.

'Could I control this wolves even when they are at the other end of the world?' he asked in wonder calmly.

During the past three days, Kara had been trying to learn more about the S-Familiars.

Based on his observations, he found that these S-Familiars do not have the appetite and the need to eat. S-Familiars find the urge to devour when they see other kind of their species, but that was not going to fill their stomachs nonetheless. There was no benefit on that.

He did not if it was fortunate or unfortunate, but all of the dark wolves around this territory were gone. It must be because rogue Cannon kept testing and creating S-Familiars that they ended up eating each other until they went territorially extinct around here.

Nevertheless, now that the normal dark wolves were gone, there was no way the current S-Familiars Kara have would be going berserk.

'I could not allow that,' Kara was no sicko and feels no pleasure from animals fighting each other thus, he would not go the same path as rogue mage Cannon.

'If I had to get them out, I might only use them as scouts in this town. If I summon them somewhere in the future and they go berserk, that wouldn't be good. I had to choose the place and time to summon them in the future.'

Kara stood up from his chair, and his crimson eyes stopped shining, hinting he had stopped using magic power.

Kara had another thing to do this time.

It was also about the S-Familiars.

'Surely by now, it would be stupid to believe that Doctor Angelo don't know I have this magic item,' Doctor Angelo was probably the most familiar individual about the magic item Kara currently wears. Although it was now earing, and not a necklace, it was fair to believe Doctor Angelo know he has it.

Thus, he decided to ask him about it.

Now that he ascertained there was really no bad effects of him wearing it…yet. Maybe there was.

'Is there a catch? It's so smooth for some reason,' Kara thought.

After a while, Kara arrived in the clinic of the town.

There was no hospital in this broken-down town, but it at least had a clinic.

As an expert in medicine, Doctor Angelo naturally volunteered to stay in this clinic.

There were only a few patients of the clinic. Most of them not even sick. If one had to describe it, it was mostly children, and workers who were wounded.

The children were those who were playing, maybe with swords, and archers. While the workers were those who had to deal with carpentry and hunting.

Kara walked inside the clinic and headed straight to the small room where Doctor Angelo was. As soon as Kara entered, Doctor Angelo who was dressed with a lab coat were taking care of a boy who had hurt his wrists.

Doctor Angelo wrapped a bandage around the twisted right wrists, and tightened it.

The boy was scared, but he was silent and brave. Just then, the blue eyes of Doctor Angelo shone—unnoticed by the child—and then he poured a little bit of magic power on the wound, helping it heal.

After that, the boy was quick to notice of the change and he was always curious.

He opened and unopened his palms twice and then looked at the wound.

"Is it because Doctor Angelo is a doctor from the city? It's like I'm healing faster!" The child said in wonder, making the old man smile.

"Lucian, didn't I tell you my name is not Doctor Angelo, it's Doctor An." The old man said.

That was right. Doctor Angelo had decided to change his name. He believed that the name Doctor Angelo might attract curiousity at a later date especially during the Summer Competition. Thus, even though they were in a dukedom which was a different sovereign territory than that of the territory the King rules, he decided to change his name.

Starting in this town, he would make that happen.

But Lucian unfortunately always called him Doctor Angelo. It seemed like unlike the other children, he had heard and remembered more the adventurers, and the knights calling Doctor An Doctor Angelo.

But that wasn't exactly right.

To put it more precisely, he could remember how Doctor An healed the young knight Gary's arm with his phoenix fire.

"Ne? Why don't you use your mage powers anymore just like how you healed the arm of the blonde knight with a bored face? It was so beautiful!" Lucian explained.

A small smile blossomed on the face of the old man, as he put his soft hands atop the brown-haired boy.

"That is because I can't use too much magic power at my age. I'm already old, you know."

"Really?"

"Of course, how old are you?" Doctor An asked.

"Umm…five? No, I think I'm six!" Lucian declared.

At this moment, Doctor An noticed Kara and bowed. It was time to end the conversation with the boy.

"Lucian, don't get yourself hurt again, will you? If you do, I tell your mother about the girl you like. From what I hear, is it Claire?" Doctor An whispered mischievously.

Lucian instantly brightened like a hot tomato, and almost bit his tongue.

"No, please don't do that! I'll be going!" Lucian then went outside the room like the storm.

After watching the brown-haired boy ran away, Kara then stepped forward, and asked.

"Is he one of the boys which you say can awaken magic?" Kara asked.

"Yes, My Lord." Doctor An said.

'I see." Kara replied.

Setting that aside, Kara asked.

"Doctor Angelo, I'm sure you've had already noticed, but I have the magic item that Cannon stole. Seeing your silence all this time, is it okay for you for me to use it?"

Doctor An took this calmly.

"There are no problems, My Lord. But I've been wanting to ask you too, do you not feel anything? From what I see, you seem to be completely calm as usual."

"Ho? Tell me."

"If you may, but that magic item we created was cursed. The reason Cannon went insane was how he tried to use it. He stole it without knowing how dangerous it could be."

"Dangerous?" Kara touched the black earrings.
