Kronel the Shadow Sprit

The eyelashes of Wein flipped and replied.

"Unfortunately, that is still the case." Wein revealed with a glum look.

Lady Amy sighed heavily. She had to admit she was really useless on this. She was a lady of the cloth who trained directly under the Church in the City of the First Duke—the Port of Koc—yet she had to admit that she had no knowledge to help the poor boy.

Wein was a seven year old boy who had been having weird nightmares lately. It started about three weeks ago.

Sadly, there was none she could do no matter how much she wanted to help.

"I see. They say Doctor An is a good doctor from a big city of the kingdom, so let's see if he can do something about it."

Wein caressed his head, and replied with a worried look. He was really not feeling good about what he had been suffering lately, "I…"

Lady Amy noticed this, and said to soothe, "Don't worry, the others must be preparing for lunch already, we go as soon as we finished eating."

Lady Amy wanted to talk with Wein more, but she had responsibilities. Thus, she left.

---

When Lady Amy left, Wein who was sitting at the bench suddenly felt something strange.

'What…? Is there something?' He thought.

Seeing that there was nothing that could happen with him being so silent, he opened his mouth.

"Who is there? Lucian? Zayn?" However, no one was replying back.

Just then, an ominous wind suddenly swept past him even though he was indoors.

"What is this?" he asked.

But he was too afraid to stay anymore and ran away.

It was at this moment!

After running for just about two to three seconds, something fast accurately aimed at the boy's neck. Immediately after, his pupils shrank in shock, before it slowly closed down. He duly passed out.

Wein's body suddenly limped and dropped to the floor. But he was immediately caught by Kara who was currently invisible, and made him lay down to the floor carefully.

It was at this moment.

Unnoticed, the crimson eyes of Kara staring straight at the boy's unconscious face on the floor shone, indicating the activation of his magic flow.

"Illusion: See Beyond the Soul of Rifts. The countless spirits and I shall see." Kara whispered.

It just took a fraction of a second, right after the change in Kara's surroundings changed!

Now, it has converted to a seemingly differently world which could only be Wein's mind!

Just then, as Kara's pupils darted around the area like a shipwreck survivor swept to an island, Kara noticed something in the corner of his eyes.

"Hoh? Could you be a human?" a voice suddenly asked from behind.

Kara had a calm expression on his face, as he turned around.

For some reason, there was something. No, it was a massive shadow—the size of a truck—leisurely slouched over the surface like a flying cloud.

Just then, the massive shadow started to shrink and moved through space silently.

At the very same time, Wein started make sounds while unconscious and it was getting louder.

For some reason, Kara could hear it too. But that wasn't the problem right now.

The massive shadow soon took the appearance of a human figure and walked towards Kara like an ethereal spirit. Yet, that was the truth!

"This?" Kara could not believe it.

"What is this? I though it is a human, but you're not. A shadow, huh? So they still exist, I had even forgotten about them." The shadow started talking out of nowhere.

Kara still could not believe it. There was no way he could not know about this existence.

It was said that mages all have their own magical powers and they all get it from a certain magic element that defines everything of them. Their fighting style, their advantages, weaknesses, strengths, effectiveness, and so on.

These separates mages to different types, and there actually were those mages who separates themselves in an entirely different category!

Although there were powerful and weak and mediocre, there were those who can probably tap to the potential of their magic element to the best of someone could possibly imagine. There were those who had been chosen by the Elemental Magic Spirits!

Standing and talking right in front of him now was one of those!

The Shadow Element Spirit!

"What is it? Do you have something to do with Wein?" the Shadow spirit asked.

Kara almost laughed at such an interesting discovery! Who could have known that the mage who the Shadow Spirit chose in this generation were here in this town? What were the odds of that?

"The Shadow Spirit?" Kara said.

"That's right. I am that! Do you have any problem?"

"You chose Wein?"

"Isn't it obvious?" The shadow spirit was kind of cocky.

"I see," Kara said, as he still cannot believe it, "Then, those nightmares…?"

"Yeah, those nightmares are sign of my power taking root in his being. Soon, Wein would have the ability to use my powers. This nightmares is a tune-up for that."

Kara's facial expression was as calm as water.

But he did not have too much time. The sound of Wein murmuring in pain while unconscious had already caught everyone's attention and was going their way.

If Wein was to wake up now, Kara would not be able to escape.

'If the boy wakes up, my spell would be broken.' Kara said inwardly.

With his crimson eyes, he then looked at the shadow spirit who seemed kind of actually uninterested at him even under these circumstances.

This made Kara grin and do something.

His crimson eyes shone indicating his activation of flow of magic.

"What are you planning to do? If I see any hostile intentions, you are not going to get out here for the rest of your life, shadow," threatened the shadow spirit.

He was right. Wein's mind was now this Shadow Spirit's home. It was like his domain. No way he could do anything hostile here.

"Well, I won't do anything," Kara said.

"I see, I don't really care what you do. You cannot do it anyway."

Kara opened his palms and poured magic power, but nothing happened. Kara actually wanted to how this world works. If it was the same with his situation with May, but nothing could be felt.

"I said it, right? You could not do anything, shadow." The shadow spirit mockingly said with his eyes.

Kara rolled his eyes inside his head, and was going to get out before the people of the orphanage reach Wein unconscious, but a familiar figure of a beautiful princess suddenly emerged like smoke beside him!

The corners of May's innocent lips smiled, and looked at the shadow spirit!

"Well, how interesting is this?" May said with a smile.

The shadow spirit was stunned. How could this happen? Can someone explain?

"What is this? …May? You are May?" The eyes of the shadow spirit switched its gaze from May to Kara, and soon he seemed to have figured out something, making him broke into laughter.

"Hello, Kronel," May said.

"I see," Kronel said with a wide grin looking at the black haired shadows right in front of him as if they were precious merchandise, "I see. I see. It is true then! It is true. I could have never imagined. I bet it makes sense since I have awakened too.

There was a little pause.

"A new age is coming!"
