Still Not Moving

Less than ten feet away from my purple monster and me, Exeggutor was stomping around. The thing did not leave the area, but it has passed by us a couple times and yet to notice us.

The creature in my arms had relaxed now and was starting to curl up on my lap. I gently placed my arms around the creature, and I was able to get more of a look at the Pokémon.

Rattata, but it was much bigger than I had thought, but still a Pokémon. I was almost glad that she was a creature; I already had enough females to deal with at the moment.

"What are you?" The Rattata whispered to me so quietly that I barely heard her.

"A Pokémon, like you," I explained, and the Rattata girl snorted but then clapped two cute paws over her mouth.

Both of us stopped breathing as the Exeggutor turned its fused head to look in our direction. Then it bellowed out its name as green and brown energy started to form in the Dino-Tree's mouth.

"Exeggutor! Bullet Seed!" The monster roared, and the massive softball seed started to hammer into the ground around us.

There was nothing we could do, and I wrapped my arms around the Rattata as the earth from each shot rained down into the bush. Numerous large chunks of dirt hit my arms and back, and I could feel myself start to get weaker.

Then the barrage stopped, and the Exeggutor looked around for another five minutes as the two of us remained perfectly quiet. I felt a slight buzz in my pocket and pulled out the Breedé-Dex, and put it in front of the two of us.

Horseshoe was right, but I could feel the damage that the dirt had caused. Usually, this wouldn't have bothered me with a body like I had. Still, everything in the Pokémon world was decided from levels and rarity.

'That's the way that all Pokémon do it!'

Interesting. That meant that I could keep trying to fight the same person, and I was guaranteed to win at some point.

The Exeggutor was starting to wander away, but I was in no rush to get up and start running again. If Dirty Harry was right, I was only a couple more hits from passing out, and I didn't think that this little basic of all basic Pokémon would be able to help me or would.

That thought brought me back to the mouse in my arms that had seemed to get comfortable now in my lap. My hand was still leaking a little bit of blood, but it hadn't hurt as much as I thought it would have.

< damage is mitigated to the average of the total damage you have received and is something that you should pay attention to. Say, if you were to blast a hole in the side of a creature, but the damage was less than half of its health, it could still function like normal. That is when you only feel sore and tired, instead of your hand aching.>

That made for some interesting food for thought. It basically meant that whatever damage I had the most of was what I would feel. That was a two-sided coin that could be an advantage and disadvantage for me and against other Pokémon.

Dirty Harry opened a map on the screen, and I wasn't too far from Oak's Laboratory, but I was tired. I also needed to figure out what I was going to do with the wild creature sitting on my lap.

"Hey, we can get up now, so you can go," I said softly to the Rattata, and the large purple and white mouse turned her head to look out at me.

"What are you? I mean, I can smell that you are a Pokémon, and even your blood doesn't taste human. If you are a Pokémon, then why do you look like a human?" The Rattata asked me, and I shrugged.

"Don't really know how to answer that, but if you are free to go. I need to get back to professor Oak so I can finish dealing with him," I said, but the mouse didn't move.

"What do you mean, deal with professor Oak?!" She asked.

"I am going to kill him after I get some information out of him. I also need to make sure that he is as bad as the others are making him out to be," I explained, but the creature's eyes went huge, and she still was not moving.

"Umm, can I come with you? I don't think it's safe for me to look for berries in this area, and you don't seem like a bad Pokémon. I also want to know if you are trolling the truth about killing the professor. My name is Aemii, and I guess I will be your Pokémon?" Aemii asked me with a cute look on her little mousy face.
