Chapter 4

Besides the demons he killed, especially the first one was way too strong to be an ordinary demon or one that would had been dwelling in the city for long without him, or the sector security noticing his present, regardless of if the divine eye was working properly, or otherwise, even though, compared to him, they were nothing more, but ants. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off if an uprising was all they were after.

"It seems there might be two sides to the plan of the orchestrator, since an invasion doesn't seem like the end game, or the sole goal… Either way, the value of the girl is what will likely determine the side with the advantage… Is this luck or something else…? Hmm… I just hope the sector security are ready for what is coming" the grey hair boy thought figuring out, the possible plot to the uprising of the demons activities. While hoping the sector security had figured out as much, as he continued his talk with his brother on their way to school.

"I can picture that… But I did tell you not to report in when they call, you can aid them in assistance with the purge, but you going to the tower is just you crossing the line… I have told you this several times, but you always choose to ignore my words… when it's not like you need them to purge the city of demons… just focus more on improving your sensing capability and awareness instead"

"Yeah-Yeah, I know, but the captain and everyone else are okay with me going to the tower, we've become so close that he even asked me to assist in the training program of the last recruitment program… And has appointed me as the regional scout for the western region, leaving now, will just be hurtful… Besides, the way I see it, the only person that has issues with me there is the vice- captain… since the captain is not around his just being an even bigger jerk than usual... and I haven't done anything to him at all"

"He doesn't have issues with you, he just doesn't trust you because… Of me for justified reasons, I guess… either way I'll advise you to stay away from the tower" the grey hair boy and his brother continued, their discussion after he had concluded his thoughts, as regards to the girl and demons. While trying to advise his brother to stay away from the sector security base, to avoid harsh treatment at the hands of the vice-captain, stating the reason behind the harsh reception he receives, to be because of him.

"Okay-Okay, I'll do as you say, but you really don't have to cover up for him, you know… A jerk is a jerk, regardless of if you did something to him or not, just saying … Besides him letting his personal feelings mix, with his work only shows how immature he is… What a jerk" his brother said acknowledging his advice, while sharing his thought of things as he pouts.

"Hmm… I guess you do have a point, but things are more complicated than you think, Tobi… Just try not to hold any grudge against him… he is quite nice, when his feelings is not getting in the way"

"I'll believe that when I see it, Mutiu, either way we should make haste if we want to make it before the bell is rung"

"What do you mean? It's not even an hour to the time yet, and since when did you care about making it to school early? You don't even like going"

"That's not true, I-I do like going, and care a-a lot about making it to school early"

"Hmm-mm"

"Can we just get going?"

"Okay… Lover boy, I guess it'll be wise not to keep her waiting... Huh?"

"I-I don't know what you're talking about, Mutiu" Tobi said stuttering as he blushed, while pushing Mutiu to make haste, in order for them to make it to school early, concluding their talk.

It was a bit sunny that morning, the brightness of what eyes could see, shined bright and alluring. The temperature was just right, it wasn't too hot or cold, and it was just perfect. The cloud was all funny shape like, as both boys make their way to school, earlier than the expected time, while Tobi rushed to his class, leaving Mutiu at the front gate after they both entered, Mutiu on the other hand went to his class after visiting some of his subject teachers, before the bell was rung for the assembly.

Later that morning, at the northern part of the city, close to a rundown building in the ghetto not too far from the woods. A few demons in human form who managed to escape from the southern region of the city during the purge from the hunters yester night, gathered on the run, avoiding hunters, as they blend with the busy crowd rushing to work. Crossing the eastern region, while in haste to meet with the other demons residing in the Northern region.

With hope the demons in the Northern regions would help them, they matched, as the thought of the reception they received, at the hands of the sector security last night, in the Southern region of the city, kept playing in their heads. When they thought it wise to go wild on the city folk openly in the ghetto, butchering and killing a significant numbers of humans that crossed their path or lived there, which led to the defeat of most of them, even their lord.

Since they had a habit of playing with their prey, and also because they underestimated the ordinary members of the sector security; the lowest ranking members of the sector security, which compose of new members or weak level hunters from the soul sector. They didn't think the ordinary members would be strong enough to take them on, or purge them.

"Do you really think the lord will help us? Especially with our wounds, and how we look? Going as we are now, will only make it obvious that we deserted"

"I know, but if we run into hiding right now it will only make our case worse"

"So, do you want us to die, at the hands of the lord instead…?"

"No! Not in the least… I have a plan… The event we just witness is our key… we'll just have to make use of the information, and with a little exaggeration and luck, we'll be able to gain the favor of the lord… all I ask is for you to just follow my lead… Okay"

"So long as I get to live nothing else matter… I'll follow"

"Same here" the remnant demons discussed coming to a conclusion, whether, or not going to the northern region would be worth risking their lives for, as they move on.

After coming to a conclusion. The survivors pressed on to meet up with the leader of the party in the Northern region. He was a bit cautious than the regular demon, and calculative, he was a look before you leap kind of person, the opposite of lord Yu, but like lord Yu he has his own obsession, which was information and curiosity.

With such trait they hope he might help plan their next course of action to address the situation on ground, since most of them were wiped out, they came in a group, with over 30 members but was easily subdued, trimmed to just 5.

The lord they came to meet has not made any move, since he has been in the city. At first they thought he was a wuss, since he was here months before them, but now, they were starting to think maybe he was the smart one, and maybe comparing, and analyzing the information given to them by the general was wise.

The remnant had made their way to the view sight of the lord, after passing various residence, to a rundown building in the forest, deep in the northern region, they came across few residing demons outside the rundown building at the entrance.

Looking at them, all the lord saw was a beaten dog, they've lost every shred of demon pride. They were pathetic and an eyesore for him to look at, he wanted to kill them on sight, but his curiosity got the best of him, pinning him to aid them first. He thought killing them before they got to say what they think was worth the trouble of putting their lives on the line would be a waste, but the thought of them wasting his time hung at the back of his mind.

"If you don't have any useful information, just end your life before you take any step forward, or else a horror worse than death awaits you" the lord yelled, sighting them at the entrance, while on the roof of the rundown building.

Although the remnant demons anticipated such action, since they knew if it were any other lord. Even their previous lord would had killed them on sight, especially with the way they look, but his response shows that he'll be willing to give them a chance, at the cost of the worth of the information they had.

Upon hearing his words they quaked not totally sure anymore, if the information they had could be of value to him, but the thought of dying at the hands of a hunter didn't sit well with them. They pressed forward, taking a step, while knowing their lives was on the line.

The lord who was on the roof came down, then went to the living room soon after the remnant demons were directed by the lord's party members to the living room. The lord was sitting by the middle end of the living room, which seemed like a hall, due to the free space and size.

There were some party members in line from the entrance of the living room, to both shoulder sides of the lord, and the others were outside the building. His party seemed to compose of both members of the demon sector, and rogue demons: these were demons who live in hiding in the human world, not constrained by the rules of the demon king.

Their numbers were intimidating, a total of 37 demons was what they could count, and the air around seemed thick with malice as their energy was intense.

The remnant demons were still in fear of how things might end, but one thing they knew, was that dying here was as good, as any, if it comes down to that.

"Start talking, worms… I don't have all day" the lord said eager to know what brought them to him as they appeared to be in a battered state.

Their injuries doesn't seem like one from a demon, so, it was safe to say their lord was not the one that inflicted it on them, which concluded his guess. That something must had happened to their party members, and lord, during their stay in the city, but when the remnant demons started talking. Giving a detailed summary of what went down yester night in the southern region of the city, confirmed it for him.

They explained how the other party members were all killed, and how strong the hunters were for an ordinary member, as that of one that stood above all others. His strength was overwhelming, and how the information they were given by the general was all sweet talk, and a farce compared to what they faced.

The horror in the gaps of the power margin between them, and the hunters, stating in frustration how they manage to escape, and how strong the sector security ordinary members were, as that of how easily their lord was killed. After, they recite the message the general gave their lord.

"Lord Oka, as you can see we are all that remains of the party of lord Omiha, which was assign to search and capture Alice, and the relic she took, as that of any powerful hunter we encounter, since they'll be short of manpower, and will have weak defenses, human slaughter should be in mass to cause chaos, those were the orders of general Deathomen…"
