Alexia
This could only be a really bad joke, I think the universe is conspiring against me. In addition to my dad leaving nothing for me, I had to work with someone who looked like they stepped out of a poorly staged Western movie that was shown in the afternoon session. The creature still had the same name as my toy. This was a nightmare!
He was wearing a black plaid shirt, with tight jeans that could be clearly seen by the bulky contents between his legs. Fastened by a belt with a large buckle that appeared to be the belt of Maguila the boxer. A hard-toed boot with spurs on the back and a cowboy hat. Light skin, thick beard and you could tell he had shoulder-length hair. What saved him were her beautiful blue eyes.
I almost fainted from coughing so much, my sister had to hit me on the back to get me out, it got very serious, Robson was going to call the ambulance. When I finally recovered, I looked at my sister, who started to laugh.
“This isn't funny,” I said to my annoyed sister.
"What happened to these two?" said the hillbilly, who had no fashion sense.
"I don't even understand!" Robson replied.
After I recovered, I straightened my posture, like a businesswoman.
"What are your skills, Romao?"
It was so strange to say that name out loud, as I only said it between moans with my toy, which for me, so often took me out of frustration.
"I was three times champion in eating chicken wings, without using my hands," said Romão proudly.
"Wow! Awesome!" I was being sarcastic. "It should be in the Guinness book."
"What my sister asked is what do you know how to do?" said Patricia.
"I'm good at accounting, finance and working capital."
It's all part of the same thing, he could have said he's good with finance, in short. I don't believe I depend on this creature to run the company, have my long-awaited independence and fulfill my promise made years ago. Thanks dad!
"Yes, just a minute!"
I got up and pulled Robson and Patricia to a corner of the room, a little away from him. That was one of the advantages of having a big room, I could talk to them without the other, who got up and walked over to the television, listening to me.
"Where did you get this creature?" I asked in disgust.
"He's Francisco's heir," Robson replied.
"Sounds like a bad joke, three times champion for eating chicken wings?" I say indignantly.
"Yes, and without using your hands, because!" Robson said, trying to relax. "He's good with finance and the finance part of the company sucks."
"Nice!" said Romao, calling our attention. "The TV buttons are hidden on the screen."
I looked at Robson as he turned to me.
"Same?" I asked incredulously at what I saw.
"He's not used to these modernities."
"What century is he from? From the age of caves?"
“Calm down, Alexia, let's give him credit, the important thing is that he comes to the company, for you to manage”, said Patrícia.
I took a deep breath and looked at the creature, it seemed to be enjoying the television.
“Robson, I hope he's really good at finance, because if he messes it up, it's your responsibility,” I said seriously.
“But…” Robson tried to say something, but I didn't give him time.
I walked towards the guy, who was deconfigurating my TV. This Smart TV received the command by touching the screen and remote control, which I picked up and turned off the TV.
"I didn't move anything," said Romao, holding up his hands.
"I was the one who hung up," I said, tossing the controller onto the office couch. "You need to know the company and the factory" I said heading towards the door, when I looked back, I saw that the creature didn't move from its place. "What are you waiting for, right?" He ran to join me.
We got into the elevator and went down, I would like to make a surprise visit to the floors to see if the employees were really working. But I had no surprises, Elisa, the girl who was at the reception and my friend from school, was a great professional.
"Hi Elisa!" I greeted Elisa.
"Hi Alexia, good to see you around."
She wasn't used to seeing me working at the company.
"Yeah, I think you'll see me more often now."
"I heard about your father and Francisco. Who will assume the presidency, will you?"
"It will be me, Patricia and him," I said, nodding to Romao. "His name is Romao and I wanted him to provide a card of the presidency, with access to all restricted positions."
"It's for now."
"Romão, this is Elisa, whatever you need, you can ask her."
"Hi Elisa!" he said, taking off his hat like a bow.
"Welcome to FazenTéc, Romão!" Elisa pulled my arm and spoke into my ear. "Then I want to know exactly where you got this creature from."
"Maybe Friday night club!"
"Closed"
I showed Romão the entire lobby and we went back to the elevator. We went through each floor, showing the departments. I explained to him that each floor was a department. We arrived on the twentieth floor, in the marketing department, where the director was Conrado. I knocked on his door three times and he told me to go inside. He was surprised to see me, usually I wouldn't see him despite our relationship.
"What is my handsome president doing here?" He got up from his chair, coming towards me and stopped halfway when Romao entered the room. "Who is this creature?"
Romao did not like the way Conrado spoke.
"I'm Romao, your new boss!"
Romao held out his hand to greet him. Conrado shook his hand looking at me with wide eyes.
"He's Francisco's son," I say.
"Ah!" Conrado greeted him and then straightened his posture, putting his hands in his pockets. "So, will you be the one taking over the presidency?"
“Actually, I'm going to be in charge of the company, he's just going to have to go to meetings and sign documents, and of course he's going to be in the finance department,” I say.
Conrado opened his eyes again.
"Department of Finance? And what about Vinicius?" he asked a little anxiously, I found his concern about the change strange.
"It's more than obvious that there's an embezzlement in the company and as soon as we know who or what department is contributing to it, we'll send those responsible away and call the police."
"Police? Don't you think that's an exaggeration?"
"Conrado, someone is robbing the company and I'm going to find out."
When I put something in my head, there was no one to stop me.
"If you are not involved, there is nothing to fear," said Romao.
Conrado faced Romao approaching him.
"What are you implying?"
I stayed in the middle so as not to complicate things.
"Enough! If you guys have already stopped the testosterone competition, we'd better get back to work," I said, pulling the two of them apart.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" said Conrad.
"Romão, wait for me outside, I'll be right out."
Romao nodded and left the room.
"Are you going to let him run the company?"
"What do you want me to do? I have a year to convince you to transfer the company to my name."
"Until then, are you going to walk around with this guy on your heels?"
"I have no other option, my father left me nothing."
"You have another option, just get married and the company will automatically be ours."
If they call, he said the company will be "ours".
"I'm not getting married just to have the company in my name."
"Is the problem the company or is it me?" The problem is that when we had sex, I had to be satisfied with Romão.
What?! I needed a new toy.
Shit! I needed to find another excuse to deceive Conrado. I made an abandoned dog face.
"Dear!" The lie started there. “Marriage to me is serious business, I don't want it to be rushed, you know I like to organize and plan,” I say, wrapping my arms around his neck. “And with these business problems, I don't have time to think about marriage right now. I need you to have some patience."
"What if your sister gets married first?"
"What is the problem?"
"She is the one who will be in the presidency and not us."
"Do you want to marry me or do you want to control the company?"
He looked surprised by my question.
"N...no love, of course I want to marry you."
"It's not what it looks like," I said, pulling away from him. "You know what? I would be very happy if my sister took over as president of the company, she is as competent as I am."
"That was not what I meant." But that was a good excuse for me to end this relationship by blaming him.
I left Conrado's room without letting him explain himself. If I ever suspected he was with me because of the company, I now had confirmation, I just needed an excuse to dump him and go urgently to buy a new toy. Why was he still thinking about it?
