Being thwarted

Alexia

"Who does he think he is?" I walked into my office, furious.

"I could see that the tour of the company didn't work out very well," my sister said, stepping inside.

"That idiot redneck didn't challenge me in front of the employees."

"Oh damn! He shouldn't have done that."

"Exactly, if he thinks that bumbling girl is still going to be with me, he's sadly mistaken."

"I wasn't talking about her, I was talking about him."

"Thus?" I asked confused.

"I didn't want to be in his shoes right now, you angry are a danger." I remember when we were teenagers, after you came home. I broke a boy's arm for bullying my sister. "You look like that Alexia."

"He made me furious."

I came close to committing murder today.

"How long have you been seeing the psychologist?"

I spent time seeing myself regularly with a psychologist after I ran away from home for six months.

"Since I finished college, but I don't need a psychologist, I just need him out of my way."

"This is going to be difficult as we need him."

"Romão? What the fuck is that name?"

"You put the same name on your toy and even said the name was cute."

"I'll have to think of another name or buy a new toy."

"You can call it Romão Junior, or Romãozinho, or masturbate with the mustached dolphin."

I made a disgusted face, imagining a beard, mustache on my vibrator. My sister started to laugh.

"I hate men with bushy, bushy beards."

"You say that because you've never felt a man shave your neck."

I shivered just thinking about it.

"And I don't even want to."

Suddenly my office door opened and the idiot redneck walked in.

"Is that what you call running a company, humiliating an employee like that?"

"I can't work with incompetent people."

No offense to those present. I thought.

"Do you think you are superior to them?"

"I think so!" Live for Loki.

"Then your place is not in the presidency."

Damn! He also watched the avengers.

"I went through things you can't even imagine, I had to grow up early, Francisco's son." I could see that Loki is my favorite villain. "I am the only person who can put this company on the right path, in fact, no one can do what I do"

I thought about everything I went through in my teenage years, all the choices I had to make, to be here today, listening to a sermon from some idiot hillbilly.

"That doesn't give you the right to humiliate people."

"What do you understand about management?"

"I may not understand management, but I understand that you cannot use your social position to belittle others." Hearing those words really hurt my ego, because I know he was right. "I don't like people like you who care more about their navel than other people."

“What do you think I do here? Do you know how many people are employed in this building alone? They depend on a leader to support their families.

"That doesn't make you someone who cares, you would fire someone who needs the job to survive. Maybe your father realized how selfish you are and that's why he didn't leave the company in your hands."

Hearing that was like a punch to the stomach and I hate him for it.

"You don't know anything about me, if you're not satisfied, the door is right there."

He gave a sarcastic smile, wanted so badly to make him swallow that smile. Romao approached me, getting so close that I could even feel his warm breath on my face.

"Unfortunately, you depend more on me than I do on you." Worse than true. "You're mine for a year." Did he say I'm his? "You're stuck with me and there's nothing you can do." I huffed in anger, I wanted to punch him. "And as long as I'm working with you, no one will be humiliated or let alone fired unless I approve."

"You can not do that."

"I can and you will obey my orders."

I laughed nervously.

"What if I don't obey?"

I will never bow my head to him, ever!

“So you're going to have to convince the directors to put you on the presidency, something I'm sure they won't want. I think you need me more than I need you." Was there still time to punch him? "I don't want to have this conversation again, I hope I made it clear."

"Crystal like water," I scoffed.

Without saying anything else, he turned and walked out of my room, leaving me with a fire in my nostrils. He doesn't know who he was dealing with, he'll still know who I really am.

“Wow! I'm excited right now,” my sister said, fanning herself.

"Want for you? You can take him for you and get him out of my company," I growled.

"No kidding, if it wasn't for my cousin I would be in my bed for sure." I rolled my eyes. "If he didn't like you, of course."

"You must have fallen out of bed and hit your head, he's not into me."

"I don't know, he said you were his for a year. If that's not a statement, I don't know anything else. That's how romances start."

"It was a way of saying, surely he must be enjoying having me in his hands."

"I don't think it's just in his hands that he wants you."

She made an obscene gesture with her hand.

"You don't have any computers to hack, do you?"

"Oh I see. Want to be alone to relieve yourself with the mustached dolphin you're carrying in your bag?"

"Did you go through my bag?" She started to laugh.

"Not really!"

Damn! I surrendered.

"Go search something to do."

She walked towards the door laughing, I know I'm going to be the target of an uproar because of my toy's name. She opened the door and turned to me.

"Send my regards to the mustached dolphin."

I grabbed an ornament from my desk and threw it in her direction, but she closed the door before she was hit. I heard her laugh outside.

I packed my things to go out, but before going home, I passed the Marcio Andrade school and saw the elementary school students leaving. Suddenly, Hector appeared, talking to his friend. I parked the car in front of the square and walked to the school entrance. I watched him, as I do every week.

But this time, I approached him slowly. Hector was showing his friend a drawing.

"Look, Vitor, the teacher gave me a ten for the drawing," said Hector.

"I never got ten from the teacher, you're her darling," said the boy with a pang of jealousy.

"Your drawing is really beautiful."

The boys looked at me at the same time.

"My mother told me not to talk to strangers," Hector said.

"And she's right! Where's your mother?"

"She must be arriving, she's always late."

If she went with me, she would never slow me down.

"Aunt, what do you think of my drawing?" asked the other boy, taking the drawing out of his backpack.

The design wasn't ugly, but it was painted in one color, it looked a little lifeless.

"I liked the drawing, but I understand why your teacher doesn't give you a ten."

"Why?" the boy asked curiously.

"Try adding more colors and not just one color, adding brighter colors like yellow, orange, light green."

"Fine! What's your name, aunt?"

Now I was in doubt whether I would mention my name, I don't know if Hector's parents mentioned me to him, but whatever God wants.

"My name is Alexia."

"My name is Vitor."

"My name is Hector."

"Aunt, you are beautiful!" said Victor.

"Oh...!" So small and so conquering. "You are handsome too."

"If I were older, I would date you."

Can I do something like this?

"Everyone knows you're going to marry Gab," said Hector

"And you're going to be a priest, because Naty keeps kissing your cheek, telling you she's going to marry you, and you've been crossing yourself."

Where do these boys learn these things from?

"Does your chain have a pendant?"

"Like?" Hector pointed to the chain around my neck. "Ah yes!"

I took the chain off my blouse and opened the Mini frame. I was lucky that the pendant didn't go bad with the coffee.

"Whose picture is this?"

“This photo is mine,” I said, pointing to my photo. “And this is the most important person to me.” I pointed to another photo.

"What's his name?

Damn! What should I answer?

"Alexia?" Marcos, Hector's father, comes towards us, saving me at the last moment. "How much time?" He looked at me worriedly.

I put the chain with the pendant back on my shirt and greeted him.

"Hi Dr. Marcos"

"Call me Mark."

He looked at Hector and then at me.

"Don't worry, I didn't say anything."

He let out a sigh of relief.

"I'm busy right now and in a bit of a hurry, but drop by my office so we can talk."

"I'll."

He handed me the card with the office number and address.

"It was good seeing you."

"Equally."

He walked to the car hand in hand with his son, the boy looked back and said goodbye to me, blowing a kiss. My heart melted all over. I said goodbye to the other boy with a kiss on the cheek and went to my car, my heart racing, this week I made an appointment with you, Dr. Marcos.
