Our story begins with Elric's birth and the siege of his homeland and follows his escape to an unknown land in his mother's arms. Were he is given into the care of a kind old man an quickly grows into a budding hero.

After more than a year of dealing with King Wodon Ironskin's lack of interest in anything other than his dolls and small amount of food, Queen Jade Thorn Rose barely managed to hold onto her sanity while ruling over the Shadow Mist Kingdom on her own for the most part. Wodon had sank even deep into his now miles deep pit of depression, not even preforming half of his duties as King. His duties as a husband were left attended by him as well. 


The worst kept secret in the shadow mist kingdom was the "special" relationship between Queen Jade Thorn Rose and The Imperial Concubine Moon Shadow. Her frequent visits with her newborn daughter Shadow Night Flower Vellen in her arms, as well known by the castle maids, so it did not take long for rumors to spread beyond the castle walls. Most thought that King Woden was aware of the existence of the relationship. Some people even said that Moon Shadow tried to visit him, only to be turned way before she could even get the door half way open.
