After a long day at school, the bell finally rang. And as I was heading back home, I saw a beautiful girl, getting shouted at by a lady outside a store.
After the lady left, she was left there alone in the rain. I approached and I asked her:

“What are you doing out in the rain?”

I asked, but it didn't seem like she would tell me anything. So, I gave up, and was about to leave. But I couldn’t help myself from worrying about her. So, I went back and forced an umbrella into her hands and sprinted back home. I heard her shout, but I just ignored it.

The next day, I got sick. And as I was about to open the door to my house, I see her come to me.
“Did you get sick because of me?”
“No”

She didn’t listen to me and forced herself into my home and tried to take care of me. However, as she was about to cook, I noticed something. She was just looking around, doing nothing, and was panicking. At this point I asked:

“Do you even know how to cook?”
She froze, and after a few seconds of silence, she nervously turned around and said:
“O-Of course…”

Lies.

The Prettiest Girl In Our School Was My Neighbour

It is currently 12 pm, and I just finished eating my lunch. I just ate spaghetti, it was nothing special. Anyway, after finishing my lunch, I thought about what Sakurai said a few hours ago.


She said that she'll be helping me out with my history assignment. Now, don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for this, but I think I really didn't need it.


Even though I said that It was my weakest subject, I still get average grades in it. It wasn't like I'm horrible at history. I'm just uninterested in the subject so I don't study it.


But whatever I guess. Getting better grades isn't really a bad thing, so I'll just accept her help.


After eating my lunch, I then went inside the library where I keep my manga, novels and other otaku related stuff. There are also some educational materials there which I rarely use.


Another thing in that library is one long table used for studying and another table with a computer setup including 3 144hz monitors and my PC. That PC cost me 5000$… And it's about to get outdated… well whatever, I can just swap out the cpu for the next gen one as my chipset supports it.


Anyway, As I was waiting for Sakurai, I just played some games because why not. I had nothing to do anyways, so I just fired up the circle clicking game I always play and went straight at it.


Hearing the doorbell, I went in front of the door and looked at who was ringing. It was Sakurai. I then let her in and got some tea ready. Instead of giving the normal green tea that you would typically get from a normal household, I gave her Milk tea instead.


"Milk tea?" she said as she tilted her head


"It's just black tea with milk and sugar, try it." I told her


"Delicious! …I've never tasted something like this before…"


"Hm? Really? This is quite popular with high schoolers now though?"


"Eh? Really? I've heard no one talking about this before though…"


"Huh… I guess it's more popular overseas then…"


"Nothing, just forget about it." But I just brushed off her question.


"Anyway, shouldn't we start studying soon?" I asked her


"Ah yes. Sorry, I seem to have forgotten the original reason why I am here. So shall we start right now?"


"No, not yet. I don't want to study here in the living room… can we go to our library? The table is larger there…"


"Eh? A library? Why would this house even need a library?"


"…Well… My parents got it built as an office, they say." 


"…Inoue-san… could it be that… your family is very rich?" She asked.


"Ahahaha…" I just laughed her question off as I led her to the library.


I then opened the door to the library, revealing the degenera- I mean otaku related stuff I own. We then went to the table near my PC setup and sat on the chairs.


I then noticed that Sakurai kept looking around the library. After a while, her eyes became stuck on one thing, my PC setup.


"Are you interested in those?" I asked her.


"Are you knowledgeable about computers?"


"Eh? Not really. I was curious because of the pen tablet you have."


"Ahhh that? I actually use that for a certain game. My whole setup costs 10000+ USD."


It seems like Sakurai was surprised on how much I've spent in this setup.


"Yup. The PC itself cost 5000$ and the keyboard costs 1000$."


"Can I?!" It seemed like she was excited…


"Sure here." I then booted up the PC as she stared at it.


She then opened a web browser and started to type on the keyboard.


"Eh?" she said as she clicked on one key


"I didn't know a keyboard could feel this good…"


And at this moment, I suddenly thought of something….


It feels like her ice wall barrier has been melting more and more, showing her real self ….
