The Fates

The rest of the year has been interesting all of the staff and students other than Percy and I seem to have forgotten about Mrs Dodds either that or they were playing a prank on us though now Percy, Grover and I are on our way home for the holidays when the bus breaks down and we are required to get out. "Hey, Grover those old ladies over there think I could ask them for some advice on knitting?" I pose this question to Grover while pointing at a group of three old ladies who didn't quite look right to me, as he and Percy look at them the old ladies pull out a pair of scissors while moving to cut a blue thread they were sewing with. As Grover sees this he goes pale before rushing Percy onto the bus not really caring about me though after the conversation I overheard between him and Mr Brunner I couldn't really blame him the Fates can be scary sometimes I am probably the only one they can't determine when will die and that is purely becuase my death is in the hands of the councle of gods and from what I understand most of them are not all that fond of Lily and myself. Seeing Percy be pushed onto the bus by Grover I decide to head over to the Fates and as I walk up to them the look at me with some confusion on their faces "hello, I noticed you knitting and was wondering if you had any advice you were willing to impart onto a novice knitter?" I ask the Fates this and their expressions change kind of rapidly before they turn calm. "Sure love we would be happy to pass on some of the older generations knowledge to the younger generation, but we were wondering if you would be willing to trade this information for an answer to our question?" as the Fates say this they pull out a package and offer it to me.

"I would be more than happy to answer any question you have though I don't know if I have the answer to your question." my response to their question seems to puzzle them before.

"Well there is only one way to find out we were wondering if you were able to tell us why we can't access your string of fate?"

Hearing their question I understand what they were asking and give them my response "well as far as I know the only thing that makes me different to others is that I have a curse that was placed upon me by a group who called themselves the council of gods." at my response they look supprised before giving me the package and smiling "thank you for being truthful with us we look forward to your assistance in events in the future."

Nodding to them and thanking them for the package which I had opened to find a book titled knitting and other crafts, then I hear the bus reve back into life nodding to them "thank you for the advice I will treasure the advice of the older generation as they have often made mistakes and by learning from them I can avoid making those same mistakes."

At this the Fates smile and nodd before shooing me on my way "go or you will miss your bus young one."

---after the bus trip---

Getting off the bus I hear Grover asking Percy to wait for him while he goes to the toilet and Percy being who he is nodds before dashing off not long after Grover had gone to the bathroom ignoring me completely as he calls a taxi to take him home.

After a couple of minutes Grover comes out of the bathroom and sees me leaning against the wall reading the book the Fates gave me and runs up to me "where did he go, don't tell me he ran off on his own please, please."

I look at Grover who looks about to go into a panic attack and bring my book down "yeah he got a cab and I think he went home he and mum were going to go to the beach house today and I was going to join them later tonight. Why?" my calm response seems to catch Grover off gard and forces him to calm down.

"Right the beach house look Night we need to get to Percy he is in great danger and he and Sally need to be warned I need to get Percy to camp." Grover seems to have calmed down slightly enough to understand where to go.

"Cool mum gave me some money to get a cab there let's go." with that I put my book in the pocket of my duster and turn while hailing a cab to get us to the beach house.

Grover looks at me in surprise as if he expected me to ask him more questions "you coming or not goat boy?" I call over my shoulder knowing that would get him to come with me if for no other reason than to ask how I knew.

---after a drive to the beach house---

"Let us out here it's just down this path" Grover calls to the driver who pulls over and as Grover gets out of the cab I pay the driver then get out looking behind me and I manage to catch a glimps of the Minotaur who is coming towards us and the beach house.

"Grover run we have a tail!" I shout at Grover while dragging him down the path towards the house.

Arriving at the house out of breath Grover almost pulling me allong after seeing what was behind us. Knock, knock, knock. "Mum let us in it's important!" I shout waiting for Sally to oppen the door I look towards the hill and see the Minotaur coming towards us.

"Night, Grover so good of you to join us though I thought you were coming later?" as Sally oppens the door she looks at us slightly confused.

"Sally no time we need to get Percy to camp they are following us" Grover manages to get out through pants as Sally looks behind us and sees the Minotaur in the distance.

"Right get in the car I'll just grab the keys." Sally tells us directing Percy, Grover and I towards the car.
