Rome vs Britta- Brinatia

The distance between the nearest central, left and right Minor group was 250 meters

And the distance bet een each minor group was 10 meters.

20 minutes later after moving northwest we finally met a resistance, a weak one

But the moment they saw the formation they immediately stopped running at us with their shields, spears, and immediately ran away west way

I immediately called a west minor leader

"major 23 minor leader 1, blast those fleeing men "

I heard a sigh

"yes sur"

He saud with frustration that he needs to be the one who says it

I immediately noticed some minor groups chasing the fleeing men in the live recording

"get back to your formation!"

2 minutes later lights flickered and a huge explosion occurred, killing 37 legionaries

This might've alerted some legions, and oh boy, yes they did because I immediately saw them behind, in front, and in both sides

Tho the legions behind us would be useless since they can't catch up, but they might if the battle takes too long.

I saw 1 legion behind, 3 legions in front, 4 on the left, and 4 on the right.

I immediately contacted all group leaders

"half of the right group fall back, half of it attack the legions on the right side... Don't engage head on. The group who fell back jist wait.

The left group.... Engage them head on"

I heard mumblings, disagreements, and people telling me I was insane

"left group try to spare as much ad time as possible using barriers"

"center group, also engage head on"

Thus the battle commenced. We are outnumbered 1:1.5

And the only group we are equal is in the center

But we have an advantage, and that is magic. Rome can't afford to spend a lot of its magicians here so the legions we will be fighting would mostly be magic less.

The center group engaged with the 3 legions and we immediately erected barriers and casted some small spells to eliminate some.

And the moment I heard and saw the right group fighting the enemy groups in the right, I immediately told the right group leaders to flank the enemy center's right.

The enemy in front was surprised and shocked, many fled but they will fail because we specialise in mobility.

Minor groups easily bombarded them. And 8 minutes later, more than half of the enemy group in front was injured, and dead because of suffocation and getting stepped on their comrades intending to escape the blasts.

The moment I united the school was the moment they lost.... I only took command to decrease the casualties and make my image better. After all Rome only sent 3000 magicians, and 12 thousand cavalries. Now speaking of cavalries, how can they be of use if they can't flank nor get close? Of course they can be annoying with their mobility; but with magic we can be faster.

Before the enemy behind us got to engage with any of us, we escaped immediately leaving the surviving but cripplied legions we fought alive for now.

They stopped chasing us and just rescued they comrades because they know they can't reach us with their speed.

I heard the casualties on our side. 6 dead, all impaled by javelins and shrapnel caused by explosions. On the injured side, we got 12 injured but can be recovered.... And thats it

3 battles occurred on our way to Carlisle, and in that 3 battles, I had to switch up tactics to confuse the enemy. The only downside is that it also confuses my schoolmates.

In those 3 battles, we sustained 152 casualties and 231 injuries in total

We finally reached Charlisle. There I saw a humongous army. There are 100,000 infantry, 10000 cavalry, and 1 thousand magicians. Again we have the advantage.

The formation I chose was like the 1st battle except much more dense. And the enemy one was a standard line with their magicians at the back and cavalry scouting the area near the magicians. The battle occurred without any diplomacy

Due to being in close contact, I only had 10 percent of the central group to being as reserves incase anyone decides to ambush our behind and 5 percent of the right group to flank them.

"major 17 group leader, order your group mates to leave from the main fight, move a kilometer east wards until you no longer can see a troop."

I sent a command to him and immediately disconnected the link to prevent him from speaking up

"this will have so much casualties on our side"

I heard an heir from a bodyguard of the king said in a worried tone. Of course she would be worried, after all she may have some friends.

"I agree"

But still, we must set up a defensive camp as soon as possible so we won't be strangled by the seas.

So I decided to ramp up the casualties even more because the legion coming for us is the main one filled with supplies and magicians.

Plus their formation is troublesome. Many of my schoolmates here only know some basic spells such as throwing them over the head or blasting them. But the enemy position has their magicians placed behind so they can act as an artillery without much care about casualties.

"be as aggressive as possible, but if your minor group feels loosing, retreat and regroup immediately with another group. And then you may return to the battle once regrouped"

In an hour, we penetrated their defenses by 50 meters. But we are still a hundred meters away from their magicians. Plus this cavalry is really annoying in protecting them.

"Retreat, abandon the wound we caused in their formation."

This is a trap, maybe they will fall for it. We hastily retreated to regroup. And they fell for it by regrouping their force into a pincer attack and charging right towards us.

I ordered some group leaders to let those who know long range spells to run rampage, and it helped in delaying the enemy.

We kept retreating until we finally changed the formation into a pincer attack one like their but more expanded thinner but encompasses more area compared to theirs which is dense.

Then the magicians finally stepped 250 meters from where we were standing before we retreated I gave an order to all major leaders except 17.

"slowly attack head on"

I contacted the 17 major group leader telling him that they are going to join the fight

"attack the enemy's back and focus the enemy magicians... Go really fast"

5 minutes later before we clashed, there was chaos between the enemy and we rained fire upon them. And barely with magicians protecting them, we can easily blast them

The enemy magicians was surrounded infront, left and right. And they were also outnumbered almost 1:1.7. Add those together and you get a disaster.

The enemy magicians were destroyed with major 17 only gaining 649 casualties no injured.... But the only problem is that in the entire battle, we lost 2 thousand students compared to 1 tboudand magicians.... Of course the Romans lost hundreds of thousands of men, but magicians are very valuable. So it was a lost for us.

"major 17, retreat as soon as possible, don't engage"

"kid, you don't have to be so careful"

The major leader replied on a smug tone

I just watched at the live recording of them slaughtering the back row of the enemy until they got surrounded

"h-help! Any orders?"

I just stayed silent. It was foolish of them to underestimate the quality of quantity

The enemy finally retreated eastwards, intending to go to South to meet up with the main fleet on Manchester.

We just let them go to build a defensive fortress from scratch using magic.

Due to magic, building a base was easier so we finished 2 hours later. And then a couple minutes of preparing tents and campfires for the fog, most people finally slept at 1 AM.

I am here sitting on a campfire with all heirs attending the school

"aaaaagh! We have some fortunes in Manchester!"

A girl named Penny from class S shouted in anger and frustration knowing Manchester most likely got ransacked by the Romans.

"all of us have"

A guy from the same class as her replied. I understand her frustration about her house's wealth getting stolen. The only problem is that Manchester has 40 percent of their wealth.

"hmh"

Fedra just muttered.

"YES BUT YOU DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH WEALTH THERE!"

She screamed in anger.

"sit down Penny!"

Someone who is not an heir, but a relative asked- no commander her to calm down

"f-fine..."

She slowly sat down with sweat coming out of her forehead. But- this guy... Is he in love with her? They seem close, but he gives of vibes, and I meant the guy who said that all of us had wealth in Manchester.

"I wonder what would happen if you didn't unite the school... We probably would be killed or sold to slavery by now"

The heir to fasces who was 6 years older than me asked while sipping his hot tea

"to be honest- I haven't done that much. I only united the school to decrease the casualties by a lot. The students will inevitably fight, just more chaotic like cities burning to the ground becsuse of a rogue spell"

I replied to him with my usual tone to prevent him from thinking I was being modest by only telling him in a serious tone

"yes, but what about if the blimp decides to go to London and it gets shut down from the sky?"

"impossible- some school staff would eventually find out about the plan and forcefully turn the blimps around"

It was merely the truth. But I only did it because it was a waste of time waiting for someone to take over.... Well only possibly for Fedra also

"but still... Well whatever" he just sighed as he surrendered "The Everos heir really is a prodigy. But still, what would you do if an heir or 3 surrenders themselves to the Romans?"

"...."

"...."

Silence engulfed the atmosphere until I broke the silence by sighing and sipping my hot tea

"Class C and D"

Fedra answered the question herself who was just laying her head on my shoulder

"huh?"

"there is a reason why I put you in the central group.. The group which would confront a lot of conflicts"

"y-you!"

Penny must've realised it now. After all his father has a lot of information coming from the king himself

"Yes. Class B and C has a lot of members from the Everos house. Members that are fully loyal to the Head, and the Heir."

And some members on the house of Sithe because my mother was, after all was a part of the main family, but was removed from the main family due to marrying my father to prevent inheritance problems.

And of course, most members from the Arthur house.

"I wonder what would happen if you surrender?"

I changed my tone first time in months to a sarcastic one.

"..... Arthur- you are marrying a monster"

She stood up, and left. Of course the guy stood up and left also

"a cute monster"

I heard her whisper really silently that it would be impossible except for me to hear it
