Crushee

Dawn's POV

I was shocked to hear the story, it sounded so familiar. So, wanting to be sure, I asked him, "Your villa, and the lake, were they around Greenlands?"

He looked at me with a surprised look, "Yes, have you been there before?"

I was happy when I confirmed, " do you remember how the girl looked like, or what about if you see her picture?"

I'm guessing he's wondering where this was heading, " I don't really remember her facial details, but if her face doesn't change, i guess I should be able to remember her."

You better remember

"Get up, Chris. I've something to show you." I stood up and walked into the house, not even waiting to see if he's following me, although I know he is.

I went straight to my room, and went to check my drawer where I kept my pictures. He just stood there, without saying a word.

A smile found its way on my lips, when I saw a picture album of mine, I flipped through the pages, until I got to when I think I was probably 11 or 12 then. I really missed some memories, like really.

"Do you think she's the one?" I removed the picture, and gave it to him, although he's still looking at it, like it's one confusing puzzle.

He collected the picture from me, and his face expression changed from confusion to recognition and shock.

"How do you have her picture?". This guy, like seriously. Do I look that different?

"Seriously, are you telling me that I look that different?, because I don't understand, my face is somewhat the same".

He looked at the picture again, then to me, "Miss, how do you think I'm supposed to remember you as my longtime first crush?, although I knew you looked familiar"

I put the album on my table, and crossed my arms, "so, 'crushee', while I'm grateful that you didn't forget me, did you later on have other crushes?"

He looked at me like I was asking an obvious question, " what do you think i am, a block of ice?, of course I did, many of them, and I even have one presently".

Whatever

"But why didn't you come the next day?, I really felt bad, you know. I felt....which word can I use?...um... yeah dumped, I felt dumped".

When he asked me, I remembered the reason. But I don't want to remember, I don't want to hold onto the past"

It's like he realised the reason, when he suddenly looked at me. But I don't want any sorry look. So ignoring the question, I asked him a question instead and it seemed to hit his bone,

"But hold on Chris, you said it's your family villa, right? Your family owns a villa in Greenlands, and yours was close to the lake. You can't just come near Greenlands, much less own a villa there. One has to be both wealthy and powerful to own a villa there. Which family are you from, really? You're really suspicious, you know?"

Nathaniel's POV

"But why didn't you come the next day?, I really felt bad, you know. I felt....which word can I use?...um... yeah dumped, I felt dumped".

And that was when I remembered that the second day was the day her family experienced the fatal fire accident, that cost her most of her relatives.

I tried to apologize for being so inconsiderate, it's like she knew, she just shrugged it off. And instead of answering my question, she asked me a shocking one that I know she was bound to ask me, because of my stupidity and because of her smartness.

This situation can be really annoying, because it actually caught me off guard. And how on earth, am I going to answer her? She's super smart.

Knock knock

And I was saved by the knock on the door.

She looked at me again, before telling the person to come in.

It was one of the maids, she came to tell us that her aunt was back.

Thank goodness, like seriously. That was a close call.
