Kethra's payback

The princess led her guests into the palace ignoring the little fight as though it never happened. While walking ahead she failed to notice Kethra pulling Draxan along with her as the soldiers followed to put her on house arrest.

Draxan looked back at Ariadne's figure disappearing away and hoped whatever Kethra had to say was quick. Unnoticed by him was the look of vengeance of Kethra's eyes.

Ariadne had embarrassed her by pitting her on house arrest and she was going to get her back. She was the princess of Acceradia, she might not have been the heir to the throne but that didn't give Ariadne the right to treat as she did.

And she knew just how to get back at her. 'I will get you off your high road if it is the last thing I do,' she thought pissed off.

Her mind kept flashing the words the princess spoke as she punished her. It aided to fuel her anger against her arrogant sister. She was going to show her who was in charge so she doesn't forget.

She rushed to her room with Draxan and locked the door behind them. She wasn't allowed to leave her room but that didn't mean that she couldn't do any damage to the high and mighty crown princess of Acceradia.

"Why did you bring me here?" Draxan asked his friend calmly. He could see that she was upset and didn't want to rush her.

"I see what you are trying to do and sadly it's never going to work," she let out casually. She spoke calmly and sweetly like a friend would, cooking her meal before she served it cold to her damaged halfsister.

"What do you mean?" Draxan was confused. Frankly all the women in the palace confused him. It was either that or women spoke a different language from men as he always found it hard to understand them.

"Your attempts to win over Ariadne's heart. It is never going to work," she spoke confidently.

"You shouldn't worry about that," he let out. Ge knew how to win her over. She reacted to his little advances which meant that he wasn't so far away from sweeping her off her feet.

"I do worry, you are my friend and she is my sister. I only want the two of you to be happy," she let out with a fake happy smile. "But if you want to melt the candy cold heart of the crown princess, you will need my help," she added.

Draxan thought about her offer and felt the need to refuse her. She didn't like the princess and the princess felt the same about her. Accepting her help didn't seem like the best option for him in that moment.

"Look at the queen and take her for example," Kethra started to say. "She has so many lovers, I am one of the outcomes of her many affairs. Look at her husband, they put on a show of a happy marriage but it has been long since the queen visited her husband's chambers," she explained.

Draxan listened to her and was somehow starting to get her point. The princess was a woman and the future queen at that, she could have as many lovers as she wanted and even forget him and no one will question her.

But he as a man was not allowed to look at any other woman than his wife. If a time ever came that she didn't want his company anymore then she could easily find a replacement for him and he will be helpless to help it.

He felt immense pain in his heart thinking of such a future happening to him. To have to live with her and watch her be with someone else right in front of him was a life he didn't want to live.

He wanted for her to love only him.

"Now you realise what I am trying to say. When she becomes queen, will you remain her king forever?" Kethra asked creating doubt in his mind.

Draxan felt his hopes of being the only one for the princess shatter right before his very eyes.

"That is why I saying that you need my help," she added inching close to him. She wrapped her hands around his neck, the distance between them reducing greatly. "Make her feel like she is not the only fish I'm the sea and she will cling to you forever. Her desire to be the only one for you would push her to fight for you," she added.

'Her heart will be shattered when you do that, she might even go insane,' she thought happily.
