Chapter 96: Benji

BENJI SWIPED THE BANDANA over his face, getting the last bits of grass off his skin. He squinted up the hill as his truck chugged closer to home.

Was there a car in the parking lot?

Unless otherwise booked, Mondays were their day off. There shouldn't be an appointment or anyone parked out front of The Love Barn.

He pressed the accelerator a little harder and zoomed the rest of the way to his driveway. It wasn't until he whipped into the driveway to park that he recognized the car from its usual spot in front of the antique shop.

What was Bunny doing making a house call?

Benji parked the truck and got out, leaving the lawnmower in the bed for now. He climbed the porch steps two at a time and darted into the house, more curious than alarmed about the visit.
