Chapter 137: Garth

THE RAWNESS THAT HAD kept Garth up most of the night wasn't bothering him anymore. Not with Noemi nearby.

He'd known better than to show up expecting a warm welcome. She hadn't kicked him out or anything, so he'd take that as a good sign.

She unlocked the front door to a cute little guest house that was on the opposite corner of the property. The old house probably sat on two acres, a sizeable lot for a house this far into the city.

He stepped inside the house. Instead of the front room being a comfortable living area, she had an L-shaped glass desk and guest chairs in the center. A love seat sat under the front windows. The kitchen was spotless and gleaming, all white with granite countertops.

She set her big bag on the desk then turned toward him, gesturing at the space. "This is my studio."

"You live here, too?"

"Yes." She crossed her arms over her chest, clearly not indulging his curiosity.
