The doctor released her the next day after watching her closely overnight. She did have a slight concussion which amazed the doctor. He was expecting much worse after her ordeal, but she was recovering extremely fast. He saw no reason to keep her any longer.


Tahnee arrived early with Slaton. She helped Brenna with breakfast and kept her company. Slaton was still reserved as he watched her and his mother talking softly. Rage was still boiling within at how hopeless he had felt with her missing. He had kicked himself all night for not getting back sooner, but one thing after another had come up at the courthouse. It seemed that everyone needed a moment of his time. One moment turned into another and then she was gone. He’d never forgive himself for that.


The doctor released her within the hour with strict orders to rest. He walked out of the room still lecturing her on taking it easy.
