The elders quickly approved Tahnee’s request under the state of emergency they were all in. She wasn’t the least bit nervous. She had done this once before. It could be described as determined. She wanted to connect to someone, hopefully her grandmother, and learn more. The truth was that she was at a loss as to what to do next. They still knew so little, and she was afraid what they didn’t know might just be their undoing.
She sat in the cabin and forced her mind to go blank. It took all her effort to clear her mind. She was used to thinking of so many things and multitasking. This went against everything about her. She breathed in deep and waited to lose herself to the meditation. The earthy incense filled the air and her senses. It wasn’t long before the fog rolled in around her and voices could be heard in the distance. The fog thickened to almost complete darkness until one lone shimmer of light began to form in front of her.
