Grey felt the fear hit him as he moved around a large outcropping of rocks and trees. He paused and looked around for the source. The fear was strong enough to be from one of the men nearby, but it was also stronger on a personal level. There was no doubt it was from Tahnee. It was constricting his heart too much for it to be anyone else. Without missing a beat, he turned and began running home. In mid-stride, his human body exploded into a mass of fur that streaked through the woods at lightning speed.
“Grey!”
“Tahnee, I’m on my way.”
“You won’t make it.”
“Yes, I will. Hold on.”
“I love you!”
“No!”
Grey increased his speed and pushed himself harder than he had ever pushed himself in wolf form. The fear was increasing with every second. Terror was slamming into him both from himself and his wife. Leaves moved only after he had passed by them.
