Connections

Miakoda and Layford practically ran into the garden chamber carrying the chest between them. It wasn’t that big or heavy but one person carrying it was a little cumbersome. Layford had started doing it alone only to find the narrow paths mixed with urgency to be a bad combination. It didn’t take him long to set the box down and suggest they carry it together to speed up the journey back to the cave.


In their excitement with their discovery, they didn’t notice anything unusual until they were right up on Brenna kneeling on the ground.  It was then they noticed what she was doing. Their mouths fell open in shock.


Brenna looked up at them and grinned. “Are you hungry?” She turned her attention back to the hot meal before her.
