Chapter 19: Something is wrong!

"Pop's! where are we going? " the cat in the lap of Neji spoke.

Mahi silently observed the whole situation before screaming inside.

"So why did you insist on going to my uncle's place?"

"Can't I? I just want to see how forest rangers work." Neji said rubbing Kurai's(Neji's Cat) belly.

"Oh, we'll be arriving there shortly. " A cat woman wearing a maid dress spoke from the front seat, who was also driving the car.

"Thanks for driving us today sister Kimi"

Mahi, Neji, and Kimi reached the headquarters of the forest ranger.

"Wow~! It's so refreshing here. Don't you think it too Neji? "

"Yes…..very refreshing. " Neji said looking at thin air.

Seeing the car stopped, Some people from the front gate approached them.

"Y-young master Mahi?... " One of them recognized Mahi and escorted them inside.

"Look who has come. Mahi! Welcome home." Shadow claw, the head of the forest ranger and current leader of the Wolf clan approached Mahi.

"The pleasure is mine, uncle. Sorry to come without notice."

"Don't be sorry, it's your home. You can come anytime."

"Where's brother? Still, sleeping? I wanted to go to the Shiketsu sports festival, but couldn't "

"Umm…yes. He's sleeping…" He said with hesitation.

"Something wrong?" Mahi asked.

"Well something is, but it's ok, your a family." He sniffed a bit into the air.

"Yesterday your brother went throw his rut and he kinda mated. Everything is ok now. "

"Rut? Mated? My gosh! It's ok for me to go?"

"Yes, but Neji?" He suddenly called Neji. "It's better for you not to go."

"Ummm…" Mahi turned to Neji.

"It's okay Mahi, you can go. I'll hang out with Kurai."

Mahi headed to Neko's room. There he saw Neko sitting on the bed.

"Mahi?...oh, you have come."

"You don't need to get up."

"It's just Rut, not like I'm sick or something."

Mahi kept staring at Neko's wolf ear and tail moving.

"Rut? But I don't see anything unusual."

"You dummy! We're brothers, you can't get affected by my Rut." Neko said laughingly.

"You have gone throw your Rut, so you're an Alpha beast." Mahi made a thinking pose. "Who did you mate with?"

Neko's face turned red. "Hey!!..."

After Mahi went to Neko's room, Neji was on his own. As he walked into the depth of the jungle, his silver hair is no longer visible from the forest ranger's building.

He stopped in front of a destroyed temple. The black cat on his shoulder jumped to the ground double its size.

"..Wolf clan is so interesting, they say wolf has to cultivate hundreds of years to gain human form." A hologram appeared in front of Neji.

"But how can a wolf stay alive for so long? Mahi's ancestors have evolved from normal wolves?... there's only one way to know…"

Neji looked at the entrance of the temple, a purple light came from it.

"Kurai, let's go! …" they flashed toward the temple and disappeared into nowhere.
