Corpse monster (2)

Time flowed the same in the mirror dimension meaning the supplies that Dean had thrown inside would deteriorate like normal. Even now, as Dean was running towards the bag of guns, outside the corpse monster was rampaging freely.

'Should I get a freezer or something to keep everything longer..I'll need to find a generator as well…though would solar power work from the sun in here?'

Dean was glancing at the supplies he had gathered and couldn't help but think that. He had put the bag of guns and things in a corner of the room away from the food and other consumables in an organised way. A box of his favourite snacks were lined up and he briefly thought of how he could keep them for longer.

'It could also come in handy to keep meat and other foods longer…I should test if solar power works, if not I could try and stock up on gasoline'

Inside the mirror dimension everything was a darker hue besides the room he designated as his storage. Dean wasn't sure if photons acted the same from the sun inside this dimension and if they were capable of powering solar panels.

'This could act like a resting space, I could even bring in other electronics like a computer or tablet if I get the power issue sorted'

Dean couldn't help but be excited when his thoughts reached there. He was an otaku and this was the longest he had gone without playing games or reading. At first he was captivated with gaining strength and learning about the mutations occurring in the real world but he was also interested in having a place where he can relax and destress. He probably wouldn't have the time to spend doing unproductive things but he could make this dimension a place to sleep if he managed to move furniture inside.

'Sigh..if only it was bigger, I could designate areas for storage, furniture and perhaps experiments that needed a quiet area'

A major problem with Dean's powers was that they were heavily restricted. The room was only 10 meters in length and width which was limiting what he was able to do with this space, his portals were also starting to become limited against creatures that were too large.

'I should end this fight and see if I can powerup again'

'I need a move that is destructive and covers my weak point of attacks'

Dean's main attacks consisted of stabbing in unpredictable directions with fury using his portals. His maneuverability was his biggest advantage but Dean was lacking a sure kill attack. Guns would be a reliable substitute for now but mutations were going to over power the current age of weaponry at the current rate of mutations.

"Open"

Dean tightened his grip on the shotgun and assault rifle and exited the rift.

ROAR!

A large tentacle whooshed through the air where Dean had appeared almost immediately. The corpse monster had been waiting for Dean to appear and waited for the opportune moment to strike.

Dean quickly dodged and closed the rift immediately. He didn't want the tentacle to trash about his supplies.

Creating a foothold Dean propelled himself downwards. Gripping the shotgun, Dean aimed and fired at the large tentacle. The corpse monster howled and arms began to shoot out of it's wounds. Dean pointed the rifle and fired accurately at the arms. Blood splattered at every bullet he shot and caused a bloody version of rain below.

Dean looked below towards the main body and fixed his sight on the manhole. The body of the corpse monster had managed to squeeze out. It's lower body was similar to a slug causing Dean to realise what Kang Sora meant that it rolled around. Different limbs of arms and legs dangled on it's lower body and lifted the monstrosity off the ground. The limbs struggled at holding such a massive weight and seemed to almost snap. They constantly moved as the monster positioned it's large body to find an angle it could squeeze it's other arm out.

'It still hasn't gotten it's other arm out. That's a relief'

Boom

As Dean continued to fire everything he had at the tentacle. He didn't have the leisure to worry about ammo, so he intended to weaken it as much as possible.

'Luckily it doesn't seem able to heal itself'

The wounds on the tentacle didn't heal but instead unveiled the numerous limbs beneath. The limbs were dangerous as they had a vicious mouth that could injure him as much as Kang Sora if he wasn't careful. Luckily they were only human arms and didn't have any special qualities such as the tentacle. Only the shotgun was powerful enough to blow away chunks off the tentacle whereas the rifle would only leave small wounds. Dean would have run out of bullets quickly if he could only use the shotgun to inflict damage.

He continued to deal massive damage with his shotgun and take out as many limbs as possible with the rifle. He soon ran out of ammo from his constant shooting and couldn't help but sigh at the damage he caused. He focused his senses at the damage he caused and nodded. Bloody wounds covered the tentacle and huge chunks were missing.

Dean pushed himself off a foothold to dodge a tentacle and was free now falling in the air. Multiple arms flew out of the tentacle intending to grab him. Dean looked at the arms calmly and twisted his body precisely. The arms narrowly missed him and Dean looked at the gross faces looking at him with disdain.

He pulled out fury and decided it was about time to end things. The tentacle had majorly changed from his attacks. It had gaping holes all over and it's once overwhelming amount of limbs it could shoot at him was decreasing.

Tensing his leg muscles Dean shot off like an arrow. He rushed at the tentacle with fury intending to pierce it.

The corpse monster watched as Dean was about to attack and felt danger, its stupor of rage died down and a serene look flashed in its eyes. It recalled all its limbs and focused on stopping Dean. A multitude of arms linked together to form a wall, while other limbs shot off towards Dean bearing their ferocious teeth.

Dean slightly smiled at the monster knowing it was too late.

A portal appeared ahead of him and he threw fury with all his might inside. His muscles bulged once more and body twisted in an irregular way.

Fury disappeared inside the portal and the large monster screeched loudly.

"Huuff..huuff"

Dean had created a portal on the other side of where he was attacking. It allowed him to avoid the wall that the corpse monster had created and other unknown defenses it might have hidden. Dean had aimed for where the flesh of the tentacle was barely hanging from. Dean judged that if he attacked there once more the tentacle would fall off and he was right. Dean had been firing at the tentacle with this in mind, he had also fired at random areas just to trick the corpse monster in case it learnt of his plan.

Ever since his battle with the black widow Dean wasn't complacent to just attack in hoping that his enemy hadn't realized his plan. He would set up his attacks as if his enemy was smart and be wary of his own attacks being blocked. There was no negative other than taking more effort to plan attacks but overall if it meant he could win a battle even slightly more, he would gladly put in more effort.

The tentacle fell off and crashed below.

The corpse monster howled loudly at losing it's arm, almost bursting Dean's eardrums.

"Tch"

Dean had also been injured from his attack. As he needed to keep the portal open he didn't have a way to dodge the arms aiming for him. He twisted his body not caring that he could dislodge his bones in hopes to dodge as many arms as possible.

However he wasn't that lucky and was grabbed by the arms. Their mouths tore easily through his flesh and took large chucks.

Blood dripped from his wounds as Dean stood watching the rampaging creature in the air.

Dean's face twisted in pain as he twisted his body once again.

Pop…pop…pop

Dean's face contorted briefly as he popped his bones into their right place.

"Argh"

Dean slowly moved to the ground with his injuries.

"Pant….huff….just die will you"

Dean watched as the corpse monster screamed and squirmed it's large body in hopes of getting its arm out. Blood flowed from the missing arm creating a heavy smell of iron in the air. Cracks started to appear around the manhole as it continued to violently rampage. Dean frowned and quickly planned to kill it before it managed to get it's other arm out.

He picked up fury and walked towards the body. He ignored the intense emotion of hatred he felt from the faces and examined its body. The smaller tentacles squirmed and tried to pierce Dean but he swung fury unwittingly and easily cut them off. These were far weaker compared to the main tentacle as if they were baby versions. Dean could imagine that these tentacles would grow to be comparable to the main tentacle in the future, if it had the chance though. An eldritch horror that could easily destroy all it's enemies and could easily decimate the current him.

"Since you have blood, that must mean you have a heart, right?"

Dean followed the blood that gushed inside it's body and fixed his eyes on a pulsating stone.

"It's this"

Dean smiled wickedly which would cause viewers to shudder at the sight. All the corpse monster's faces stared daggers at him but flinched at his smile and where his eyes were looking.

"Oh..Do you perhaps understand me?"

One face seemed to nod at his words which Dean felt surprised at. Dean nodded at the head and said.

"Can you talk?...Tell me what that is?...What you are?"

….

…..

...

Silence prevailed the area

"What you can't?"

Dean smiled at the heads and pierced the stone easily with fury. His eyes looked coldly at the face as if he didn't have any regrets for his actions.

The faces screeched between horror and anger.

"Don't think you can distract me just because of this"

Dean said in a cold tone.

Dean quickly pulled out fury and slashed behind him. A sharp tentacle was pierced which had been aiming for his back.

"Sigh..if you didn't intend to sneak attack me I could've been lenient and let you live"

Dean smiled and continued looking at the face which had wide eyes.

"Of course I would only have let 'just' you live and still have taken this stone…though I would've destroyed all your other heads…I was curious to see how your mutation can be helpful though"

The heads gnashed their teeth in unison causing blood to leak out. They tried to attack Dean with what little limbs remained but failed.

Dean lifted fury and cut the stone out of its body. It was warm and pulsated like a heart. The corpse monster screamed furiously when he did that and struggled disparately to regain it.

Dean watched its final struggle and saw the faces slowly crumble to ash. The blood of the creature stopped flowing and grew still. It's body stopped moving and it's struggle to squeeze the rest of itself from the sewer ended.

"This should be similar to the stone inside the black widow"

Dean didn't feel 'it' trying to control him to eat it. Instead it seemed to have entered a slumber during his battle and disappeared from Dean's senses. Dean questioned whether he should gulp it down or not.

'Let's not'

Dean looked at the blackish red stone and felt a tinge of disgust. It had been inside that creature and he wasn't drunk enough to eat whatever came from that disgusting thing. He decided to carefully examine it after cleaning it thoroughly.

"Hm?"

Dean looked at a building and stared at the person looking at him. He slightly smiled at them and slowly started to walk towards them.
