Arabelle had officially become Victor's fiancé. Unfortunately, he had to return to the academy, so their time together was limited. Arabelle had to say, she had gotten quite attached to him during the time they were together.
Victor shared the same interests and had similar visions for the future. They planned what they were going to do when they get married and what they were going to do while they were apart.
Letters had been constantly sent and received.
She was still wary of the fact that Victor was a villain, but honestly, no matter what decision she made, she would be throwing a shot in the dark. Rather it was better to be in at least a vaguely recognizable position.
Other than that, she had become quite fond of Victor.
She'll just get rid of the obstacles.
It could be dangerous, but in all honesty, she wouldn't really know either way. Arabelle wasn't one to believe in destiny, but well, she did reincarnate.
Maybe she should roll with what she has.
After all, she never had a lover in her previous life, she had died when she was 19, young but she had been with the agency since she was 10. You could say she was a child soldier.
And she always wanted to call someone her own, and she had chosen Victor.
Arabelle decided to go to Sheryl Academia which was one of the rivals of the Academy. There were five major institutes or academies in the continent which were always in fierce competition. Sheryl Academia was an all-girls academy, it had a long line of great alumni who were well versed in all fields. It was a great place for Arabelle to get new connections. She had had a long discussion with Victor on the topic and they both decided it was the best option. Arabelle was a little disappointed she couldn't go to the Academy with Victor, but she knew it was for the best. As a young couple, they needed all the connections they could get.
Victor had come back from the academy for a break and they would get married this month. Arabelle had just barely turned 18, which, although the perfect age in this world, still seemed a little abrupt to her.
None the less she was happy it was to a very agreeable Victor who, although mischievous and loved to make fun of her, respected her views and valued her inputs.
Maybe she wasn't worried enough about the whole situation, but it was better to marry into a powerful house if she wanted to protect herself. What if the book had a war or some fantasy shit like the demon king? Or a plague?
She knew of the existence of monsters that roamed the continent, but she was quite certain that magic wasn't well known. The only thing close to magic she could find was some petty witchcraft or spells and curses. Which all the same weren't very powerful and questionable as they weren't known to work. The high priests at the temple could bless but that was pretty much it.
She even looked at the geopolitical happenings of the continent. There was a rivalry that the empire had with its neighbor Garnia, but they had formed an alliance 5 years ago.
Even with all of these worries, there was the matter of planning their wedding. There was so much to do.
Arrabelle sighed, anyway they had made plans to go to the café in the capital.
Currently, she was sitting in the coach there talking with her friend Marrie, who was the daughter of Count Rosten, a small noble family. Marrie had been her playmate since she was young and they had a close bond. She was going shopping for a new dress so she tagged along.
"Ellie! Are you excited?" she asked.
Arabelle nodded," I am," she answered perfunctorily.
"I heard the young duke is the person that all the young ladies are falling head over heels for, is he really as handsome as the rumors say?"
Arabelle thought about it, Victor was undoubtedly handsome, quite the looker. But there was this sort of subtle sexual charm about him, he'll probably be devilishly handsome when he's older. He was only a year older than Arabelle.
"I suppose so," she answered modestly.
Marrie stopped talking about it thinking she was embarrassed.
"Well, you have to tell me everything after it's over, alright?"
"Alright, alright," Arabelle conceded.
