"I am sooo fucked up," Ethan thought to himself, as he started deep down the cave.

he doesn't have a voice either, either do or die. but if he was to face him head-on there's just no fucking way he could beat him.

as his mind was running wild he felt someone grab him by his waist.

he looked at Yaling who was hugging him from the side.

"hmm? what's the matter?" he said as he put his hand on her head.

"I don't know what to say, you neither listen to me nor explain to me anything. but please don't get hurt."

she said sincerely, which made Ethan move a bit. he only smiled and put back a cold look.

Ethan felt like crying but alas he had no choice.

Ethan looked at her with a calm smile. "of course after I use all my strength you have to carry me out of here..." he said cheekily.

"Okay I will rush over as soon as possible after you finish him off," she said with a serious face, then after a pause, she spoke,

she said as she leaped from there landing on Little Xiao's back and flying away.

"Now let's focus on the quest!" he mumbled slowly.

"don't worry Ethan-kun I will protect you if matters get worse," Athena reassured him.

but Ethan had different thoughts.

"If I don't finish him within 2 hours I will be good as dead." he felt like crying.

"what's with that?" Athena frowned.

then they entered to cave and went to the bottom.

the lava pool was boiling while everything else was normal. they looked around but couldn't find anything.

time was ticking, it was already 30 minutes. but they didn't have a trace of him.

Ethan was being anxious inside as time went by.

"system! can you help me locate that bastard?"

He took a few steps back and breathed in.

according to his calculations needed a few seconds to activate the mode. so he decided to play safe.

This was the last thing he heard before his consciousness faded away.

his void-black eyes started to emit a dark blue light. once again he stood up and looked at the portal.

a ball of black energy gathered around his palm, which kept increasing in size.

the portal suddenly opened and the Demon General Wang emerged from there.

he frowned as he noticed, something was wrong.

but that's it!

*Swoop*

with a terrifying speed, the black energy ball was shot at him.

within a millisecond, the energy ball collided with his upper chest, creating a huge hole in his chest.

his eyes became horrified. he didn't know what just happened. with the last bit of his strength, he looked at Ethan with hatred.

before his body fell to the ground.

with this Ethan's body dropped to the ground.

the energy ball released by Ethan was so strong that it went through his body and struck the portal, making it flicker and spark with various energy.

Athena quickly created a barrier over his body and tried to possess his body so that he could escape.

a streak of purple light flashed and a black bolt of lightning struck him, breaking the barrier around him.

"Ahh! shit!" Athena felt helpless.

but as the attack subsided, she quickly possessed his body again, and this time she covered his body with her soul qi and made him float. with that, she flew out of there immediately.

with following noises the mountain started to shake, then exploded with lava.

"No! No No..." she did her best and ran straight towards the waterfall nearby.

She ran as fast as she could, with his body.

Looking ahead at the end of the cliff she ran as fast as she could.

she leaped there and decided to land on the water.

but when she was halfway through from hitting the ground, *squeal*

"I got you!"

Little Xiao caught him on his back.

Athena calmed down and withdrew her control over his body.

Ethan lay flat on Little Xiao's back.

"Ethan!," looking at that Yaling became anxious.

she immediately jumped over its back when it was near the ground and flew away towards the city.

the ordinary people and the cultivators looked at the volcano eruption with surprise.

one has to know that this volcano was very calm over the past few centuries. and it became the best place to grow special herbs with specific attributes.

Yaling didn't look back and flew towards the Sun clan manor.

as soon as they arrived, she took him in her arms and approached the main gate.

the guards from earlier recognized her and allowed her inside.

"what happened?"

Su Zhuang and Sun Zhenya rushed to see her. looking at Ethan unconscious in her arms they led her to a secluded courtyard.

"What happened? is he okay? Zhenya asked with Panic.

"don't worry everything is alright!" Yaling said with a calm voice.

"Okay then, we will talk after he wakes up."

Zhuang said and walked out of the room.

after resting for a few good few hours, Ethan started to gain consciousness back.

he felt something soft on his legs.

he rubbed his eyes and looked below to find two beautiful women resting their heads on his legs.

"what could happen to me?" he smirked.

he looked around the room.

"it's the Sun Clan's courtyard. I thought you could rest here..."

Yaling looked outside of the window.

"and what is this little miss doing here?"

he glanced at Zhenya, with a charming smile.

"I-i..."

"young master, she was worried about you, so I let her in, we accidentally fell asleep while watching over you," Yaling said nervously.

"So Little Miss what did you think about my reward?"

he got up and went closer to her.

"t-that's..." her face became red and she turned her head away.

Ethan stretched his arms and put on his usual cold expression.

"Let's go!"

after that, they went to the main courtyard to meet with Zhuang.

Ethan thanked him out of courtesy and walked out of the room, he didn't bother explaining his situation.

"Let's go Yaling, we have a lot of work to do."

*squeal*

little Xiao landed on the ground.

"Young Master Ethan! y-you're leaving?"

Zhenya looked sad.

Ethan smiled at her and nodded.

"I have a lot of work to do, I will be leaving now, but don't worry we will meet again very soon."

he said and jumped on Little Xiao's back.

"you promise? you won't forget about me right?"

"silly girl, take care and don't go wander around again."
