Chapter 35

"Do you really think this is a good idea?" Amari asked Sam. 

"I'm starting to think that it's not, though it was initially my plan." Sam sighed, looking at Lorelei and Jace, bickering at the cafe's counter. "Well, at least the dinner thing. But this is totally your idea."

Amari shrugged as an answer. "It would be rude not to invite him, you know. And besides, I don't think the two are even close to reconciling despite us finally bringing them together."

Amari and Sam were sitting side by side at the cafe's couch, silently watching Lorelei and Jace squabble about what should and what should not the other order for their dessert. They have been at it for almost ten minutes already, excluding the time they spent scanning the menu.

"Why did you bring Jace anyway? I mean I get it that he told you about their little fiasco but I know you rarely get involved with others' business," Amari followed up.
