The Senior Brother Has Returned

Tang Zixin frowned, his good-looking face usually gave off a tender and comforting feeling to those around him.

But, presently, no one in the room even dared to breathe too loudly.

Their usually calm young master was giving off such a frightening aura right now…

"I've returned? I cannot believe it really worked." Tang Zixin muttered under his breath, which did not go unheard to the five odd people in the room.

"Eldest Young Master, is everything okay?" A nervous middle-aged man with a confused expression quietly asked.

The elders in the room met his cold, mellow eyes.

Finally, Tang Zixin took the time to assess the situation after hearing the familiar voice, who continued speaking.

"This humble servant will use his life to plead for the Old Master to reconsider his decision." The nervous middle-aged man who went by Butler Lu quickly regained his composure as he knelt down.

There was no one in the room who did not know of the old master's recent announcement. Everyone believed the announcement to be the reason for Tang Zixin's frightening displeasure.

"Old Lu." Tang Zixin looked at the middle-aged man up and down, surprising the latter.

"Yes, Eldest Young Master?" Inexplicably, Butler Lu had a feeling that the famed Twelve-Suns Manor would undergo a great change from henceforth.

"Don't do this kind of stuff from now on." Tang Zixin smiled as he helped Butler Lu up. "You've watched me grow up since I was a kid. You're like family to me."

The kind smile brought tears to the old butler's trembling eyes. This was the same smile that had made him swear to protect the Eldest Young Master for the rest of his life many years ago.

"The Eldest Young Master has truly grown up…" The naivety in that smile from his childish years had disappeared long ago and turned into understanding maturity.

Butler Lu swore once again that in this lifetime, his old life would belong to the Eldest Young Master.

Flicking his sleeves, Tang Zixin turned to the door after familiarizing himself with the situation, "I have something to do. I will depart now, take care."

It was after he had left for a long time that the servants in the room finally sighed with astonishment and pity.

"The Eldest Young Master is indeed a dragon amongst men. No other genius in his generation can compare to his noble temperament!"

"It is such a shame that he was engaged to that uncouth girl off the Old Master's whim."

The servants did not dare to talk any further in case they were overheard, quickly all of them returned to their respective duties.

. . .

Boundless Xia World.

Great Lin Dynasty, Year 3X03.

The Lin Kingdom, the flowers and petals of the autumn blossoms fell.

The dynasty was a prosperous one, allowing the Lin Family, who ruled over the number-one kingdom in the region, to enjoy many benefits and much respect from its citizens.

For the past half century, no enemy kingdoms had dared to challenge them. It was a world where the strong ruled over the weak, and the Lin Family patriarch was a mysterious and unfathomable expert who had risen to glory with unparalleled momentum.

His noble name alone was a great deterrence to any enemy kingdoms bearing malicious thoughts.

Located within the capital of the Lin Kingdom, a luxurious and grand manor could be seen atop a lush green hill.

The rivers at the bottom of the hill flowed endlessly as the tides and winds swayed along with the manor that sat beneath the clouds.

It was a grand residence where a thousand people could be seen on the outside labouring about, the largest manor of its kind. From this group, some were slaves and servants, while the others ranged from cultivation practitioners to varying specialists.

Atop the peak of this hill was the residence's grandest spot. No ordinary person could ever set foot at the lower-middle levels, much less the peak.

Two faint shadows could be seen beneath the shade at the edge of the peak, overlooking the capital's prosperous buildings.

The wind was fierce and it could sweep mortals off their feet with ease. If an ordinary person fell from this height, they would die in an instant.

"Xin-er." An ordinary-looking old man with a long white beard and closed eyes mumbled. "You rarely come looking for me. I had almost even forgotten I still had a son."

"You must be unhappy with Father's arrangement." The old man was the esteemed figure who was worshipped as the Twelve-Suns Manor Old Master.

It was rumored that not even the ruling Lin Family dared to behave rampantly in the Twelve-Suns Manor, always bringing gifts upon each visit.

The white-robed Tang Zixin looked at his cross-legged father whose beard blew fiercely with the wind, the Old Master's appearance had not changed at all with the river of time.

"Father." Tang Zixin did not sit down beside his father, rather he opted to remain standing. The two had never openly expressed their familial love to one another.

"Xin-er, this old man knows that you probably blame Father, but promises are worth their weight in gold." The old man suddenly opened his calm eyes that were as deep as the sea. "Especially those who sit in positions like ours."

The gardens and rivers fluctuated along with the Old Master before he quickly retrieved his thoughts and closed his eyes once again.

The manor returned to its usual serenity.

The Old Master shook his head with a low sigh, "She is a good girl, Xin-er."

How could the Old Master not understand his son? The latter was a generational talent that would rarely ever be seen within a dynasty's long history.

Therefore, how could he possibly accept having his fate dictated by others?

Especially something as important as marriage.

"Father, I don't blame you." In the past, Tang Zixin had truly blamed and hated his father. He could not understand why his father had done such a thing.

But that was no longer the case.

Instead, he was rather grateful for his father's stubborn decisions.

"Xin-er will accept Father's engagement." Tang Zixin declared as he knelt on one knee, not understanding the waves and storms his words now would have on the entire capital.

The broken hearts of many commoner girls and noble young maidens were not simple to quell.

"You are no longer young, Father." Tang Zixin took one last look at his father who was shocked speechless before departing. "Don't stay out in the cold for too long."

"Xin-er…"

Though his son's voice was as calm as ever, the Old Master inwardly knew that the boy was emotional, and he even seemed rather happy?

. . .

In the residence of the Lunar Moon clan, a petite figure fidgeted with her fingers, clearly nervous. The young maiden gave others a comfortable feeling, similar to that of the beautiful girl next door vibe.

Seated in front of the young maiden were many elderly figures.

"Still not kneeling?!" The Lunar First Elder roared.

"What a great, filial child." The Lunar First Elder's beard rose as his chest heaved in anger. "Demon spawn, you will be the death of me."

"I have not done anything wrong, Father." The young maiden clenched her little fists.

"Han Ying, you still dare to say you have not done anything wrong?" The Lunar First Elder shook in anger. "Do you have to wait until after the destruction of our clan before realising your wrongdoings?!"

"First Elder, please calm down." Rising from his chair, a handsome old man with a thoughtful expression stroked his stubbled chin. "If we play our cards right, this matter will turn into an unprecedented blessing."

"Esteemed Patriarch, do you think that I don't understand that? But it is far out of her league and an impossible task." The Lunar First Elder denied the thought in an instant.

"Is loving someone so wrong?" Han Ying, the young maiden, bit her lips.

The sight was very pitiful. Usually, she was heavily doted upon by everyone in the clan, never had she been reprimanded like this.

"Daughter, you must first look at yourself before daring to declare your love to the world." Finally, the Lunar First Elder sighed and relented in the face of his daughter's tearful eyes.

"To force a marriage upon the Twelve-Suns Eldest Young Master, Han Ying, you truly are far too daring." The Lunar First Elder felt like he did not recognize his daughter for the first time.

"Father…" Han Ying was too scared to lift her head.

She was clearly such a meek little girl. In the face of the Twelve-Suns Old Master and the Eldest Young Master's fierce reputation, where had she mustered the courage to ask for such an outrageous request?

The Twelve-Suns Eldest Young Master had a renowned reputation, whose true strength was still a mystery. There was no one in the capital who was not aware of his unrelenting personality.

Many clans much more glorious than theirs had quickly fallen under his hands.

This noble young master would not even let the Lin Family's most cherished princess near him. The haughty princess had once tried to threaten him with her status but ended up in a very miserable state right after.

Of course, the haughty princess could not take this lying down, and she had quickly complained to her parents in the most pitiful way.

Nevertheless, no action had been taken on the Twelve-Suns Eldest Young Master. Instead, the princess even had to make a public apology to him! After this, everyone in the capital understood that this noble son of heaven could not be trifled with.

He could be looked at from a distance but never desecrated. No one could force him into anything.

"Moreover… let's not even get started with his ridiculous crazed fans." The Lunar First Elder sighed, just those crazy people alone were enough to give him a headache.
