Biologist Elain Mavka is sent to a foreign planet recently named Miea.  A place where she gets free range to explore, document, and report the findings of site 27-43. Otherwise known as the Mushroom Forest. What seems to be beautiful and mysterious turns out to be just that. Where Elain is the first explorer to make contact with humanoid aliens. Though are they really the aliens when she is on their planet?

Her only company on this journey is young Milo Zephyr, who is still in his training wheels, and Selcouth, a companion she encounters soon after their arrival. Well, them and the strange feeling that they are being watched.

On another side of the spectrum, the older sister (Enya) of her infant brother (Kenton) are looking for a way to survive up in the station effectively named Head Quarters. Her with an assistant's job to keep everything in order on the ship. Then, with no explanation, there was a sudden blaring siren and flashing red lights. A guard she knew, who was a few years older than her, marches them straight to an escape pod. Sending them to a planet they've never known before.

The three of them landed on completely unexplored territory of this planet and it didn't take long for Enya to stumble into a nine-foot monster of a creature. Or, rather, it stumbled into her.

A scream broke through the originally peaceful campsite. Enya startled from where she was being taught by Mori to make the paste that he was using on her broken arm and on Kobi’s injured leg. The beastly creature turned over towards the sound and his ears perked up immediately. It sounded an awful lot like the other human woman’s voice. 


She started to stand, giving a glance at her sleeping brother, before she went to investigate the sound. Mori followed close behind her as they made their way across the camp. Kobi was set up in a tent on the other side of the camp from the healer’s tent that they were currently in. So it took a moment before they got to where she was set up. The woman was still screaming, but was pulled away from whatever was causing the over reaction.
