I stared at his relaxed and peaceful expression, rather entranced by the flickering of the warm light against his face which gave his cheeks a warmer tone compared to his usual pale complexion. His white hair now glows with the colours of reddish orange from the fireplace, interchanging from a warm orange to a light yellow as the fireplace crackle.

It wasn't until Darryl sneezed that I broke out of my trance. I hurriedly looked away, busying myself with whatever I can find as he sniffled to himself. It wasn't long until he realised that I had awakened and leaned towards me.
