Chapter 84: Whys

"Why did I say that to him?" I slammed the cup against the table before leaning my elbows onto it, pressing them against the table.

Artemis shifts in her seat beside me, raising the glasses up her nose to straighten them as I gave her a slight glance. It was probably by the way they glinted in the light which made me feel a little pressured, like I'm being scrutinized under a microscope which was why I quite prefer keeping our meetings up to chance.

"Uh... I mean..." I averted my gaze as a trickle of cold sweat slid down my back as her glasses reflected against the light.

"Why are you so fidgety when you're the one who barged in here?" Artemis frowns as she fixed her bum, although it still seemed rather messy.

"B-but you said it was fine to come over?" I met her sharp gaze as she narrowed her eyes at me, taking off her glasses and pinching her temple.
