As Dune opened his eyes he was bombarded with the vibrant colours of 'Hell's Gate Online'. He sucked in a breath and exclaimed "it doesn't matter how many time this has happened, it's still the most amazing experience ever".
The area where Dune appeared was in the spot he last logged off from the game, which was a tent site around 100 metres for the nearest city. The reason that he was set up in a tent was because the ins in the city's around here were to expensive for dune to sleep, and the furthest away you can set up a ten from a city is 100 metres.
The first thing Dune did, as he always did, was become accustomed to 'Hell's Gate Online' world again. It wasn't to hard since the equipment used was top notch resulting in him not feeling to out of place. He then checked his stats just to see if maybe something hade miraculously changed.

Dune sighed as nothing had changed, not that he really expected it. This was beginning to look like another day where he cursed his choice of a class. The reason he even stayed with this class was because it was know as a trash class. This wasn't due to the bonuses you get but due to the extremely hard skill that you were stick with to use.
The way to use skills in 'Hells Gate Online' was to activate the skill then attack with it. You can only use that skill once before having to activate it again. The bad part about a magic weapons user was that you had to activate two skills to be able to use the attack. you couldn't do either the magic skill or the weapon skill, thet just wouldn't do anything. This resulted in the player have to take twice as long as any other skill.
When choosing the magic weapons user class Dune had to then pick a sub class of it to start of with. He naturally picked the magic Swordsman class as that was what he was most drawn to. When researching the class he has found out that everytime he reaches gains 50 levels he will be able to unlock a new sub skill. This was one of the biggest perks of the magic weapons user class, being able to use multiple weapons and infuse them with magic sounded amazing. The next biggest perks was the bonus 10 points in magic and strength, which only happened in two classes, the magic weapons class and the Mage class.
Back when Dune first started playing he found out pretty fast that it was too good to be true. The first time he tried to use his skill he was confused as to why nothing happened. Dune eventually had to ask a passing player and was ridiculed for picking the magic weapons user class.
Dune came back from remembering the past and decided to head to Boar city so he could check the guild board for any good quests.
---------------------
As Dune entered the guild building he could hear the usual ruckus made by the many players on the games. Due to the super high VR equipment people could actually feel and experience everything this world had to offer. This included food and alcohol, and as some of the players were children the could experience alcohol without becoming drunk if they disabled that setting. The game is actually permitted to let children drink it but the setting will not Bea able to come off untill you are 21.
"Oi bar lady hit us wif anoter round" said the man sitting at the table of 5 party members.
"Hey Arnold you better treat the lady's here better, you remember what happened last time" said the guild leader, Kent, before he returned upstairs to finish up what ever he was doing
"Oi, Oi I ain't mean nothin bout it boss" Arnold replied locking scared. This isn't to surprising as Arnold is the only A rank adventurer in this city.
As Dune walked up to the counter he could hear people starting to laugh behind him. "Well if it isn't 'The Worst Swordsman' back again to try and get a quest. How has it been trying to find a party" squeaked out one of the other 5 at the table.
"Ha ya got em gud rat, yes ya did" said Arnold said. Rat looked proud of himself as if that actually was an insult that Dune hadn't heard thousands of times. Arnold then turned to one other the other people in his group and said, " Ya new to the town aint ya Quagmire. Well that there is the "weakest swordsman" as he is known. He's quite famous around the parts so I don know if ya have heard of em".
"ahh so that is him, I have heard a bit about the guy though I thought he would look a bit stronger seeing as what he did to that guide master in Mustgrove " replied Quagmire, in a condescending voice.
The impression Dune has gotten from this newcomer was not so good. "Yep that's me, the names Dune" Dune replied. He was hoping that maybe he just misunderstood this Quagmire guy.
"humpf, who said you could talk me peasent" Quagmire stated. " I'll let you know my father is a very important man and I don't get talked to unless I say you can. Begone out of my site".
Dune was stunned, did this man really talk like we were in the middle ages, wtf. He was stunned just staring at him. Then Dune just shook his head and walked up to the board. As he got there he saw a lot of quest for high level people, like one for a dragon that had gotten lose needing at least a level 50. A magical plant that had taken over a town and was sucking people of their life force. A legendary sword stuck in a rock that will grant anyone who can take it out the crown of that city.
And then there were quests that Dune can actually complete like killing slimes, finding lost pets, helping rebuild houses that were delayed in the last disaster. These were quest ment for a D rank adventure like Dune. He wasn't embarrassed by his rank, because it did take a lot of effort to get from E rank to D.
The ranking system in 'Hells Gate Online' was super simple. the ranks went from E, as the lowest, to SS as the highest rank. Most players would reach rank C within two months at least, but Dune has only been able to reach to D due to how long it took for him to become accustomed to his skills.
As Dune looked through the quest he couldn't help but sigh wishing he could pick one of the cooler quest like the dragon slaying, or pulling the sword out of the stone. But in the end he took the slime quest as usual and walked up to the reception desk to request the slime quest.
"I'll take this one Mary" Dune said to the beautiful receptionist.
"Ok but be careful I've heard that the crazed Swordsman has been sighted around the area" Mary said worriedly.
"What, you mean he's actually come to this remote town, but why" Dune wondered stunned.
"I heard that some adventures have found a labyrinth in the forrest to the east, it just appeared out of no where they were saying" Mary whispered. Dune didn't know why she whispered as the guild was loud due to all the rowdy adventures basking in their new money from quest well done
"Well thank you for the warning, I'll be sure to stay away from the forest" Dune replied. "I should be back before sun down to hand in the quest".
"Ok good luck" Mary replied happily, knowing that he would stay safe.
Dune left the loud guild and stepped out side. He was finally gonna have some good this time he felt. Hopefully he could actually use his skill first try for once.
