A regular day in my life 15.1

A week later.

I was absorbing the Life Force of some unfortunate soul in the back alley of a restaurant. The saint had to leave me for a while because the Temple was in an uproar due to the death of one of the cardinals.

(Even though his death is just a decoy to elect another cardinal... That guy is not even human, but so what? They are running low in power these days... Because of a certain elf... with black hair and purple eyes~.)

When I finish drying the Life of the body, I envelop myself in the invisibility spell I've learned from Phoebe. The streets in the morning were empty. I walk slowly on the streets, with nothing to do.

From time to time I would cast a spell to train myself. Something I've learned after countless weeks of training is that, although I can't control elements, I can influence their mana.

To make a comparison, it is the same as eating soup with a fork. (It is stupid, I know.) You will get almost none of the soup into your mouth, but you'll eat at least.

In the past month, I trained hard and changed the fork to a spoon with a hole. The biggest issue is that since I can't control elements, I can't create the element. And for me to control it, it needs to carry mana, something extremely rare to natural elements.

But that also means that I can take control of any elemental spells. The saint helped me in this. She got a little uneasy, but when she found out that regular-high grade and above spells aren't that easy to be controlled by me, she calmed down.

(I feel like she just travels together with me to make sure that I won't destroy a town. No, wait, she actually said that. I think I'm getting old...) The city entrance was in front of me. I pass through it without any complications.

I was in the Argonian Empire, on the west. Why I'm here? I want to absorb the White Apostle Life Force, but unfortunately, she lives in one of the beast islands. And to make it even worst, she lives on the island of the north.

To get to the island of the north, you need to travel to the island of the south, then to the middle-west island, and then to the north island.

I heard that the next ship would sail at noon. I won't buy a passage, because I can just use spells to get into the ship for free.

I get out of the city surroundings and sit on the top of a tree, with a view of the city and sea. The sun was slowly rising behind me. I close my eyes and listen to the wind blowing the leaves. For the first time in years, I was alone, enjoying what true mortal life is like.

(But there is always someone to ruin these moments...) I open my eyes and turn my head to the left. "Hey, Bella. Want your report?" A little girl with black witch clothes and white skin hair and eyes was expectantly staring at me, with a crow on her shoulder.

"You won't be my slave ever again, even if I beg you?" She pouts. "Not even in your dreams. You're lucky that you're alive." She smiles and pats the crow. "Am I~" (It freaks me out that this little girl is actually that insane woman...)
