A regular day in my life 15.2

I get down from the tree with a simple jump, landing with just one foot. She follows me, but she got down by floating. "You got stronger again~" She lands in front of me. (Her white eyes always give me the chills.)

I sit cross-legged and narrow my eyes. We stare at each other for some time, her eyes filled with fascination. "There will be a day when this crow is not with you. On that day... Not even one of them will be able to save you from me." She smiles from ear to ear and pokes my forehead with her right little finger.

"Unlike you, Ahato is a loyal slave." The crow puffs its chest. I sigh and jump in her direction. She immediately cast a mana barrier that is white in color and is as thick as my arm. I grasp my spear with my left hand out of thin air and point it to her chest.

Using all my might and momentum, I prepare to launch my spear. "Wild as always! That's the stuff, little beast!" (I hate this voice! I hate, hate, hate!) I transfer all my mana to my left shoulder, arm and hand. "Why can't you just die already!?"

*WHOOSH*

The dark lance speed is astonishing. Her playful and calm face starts to show a faint trace of fear. I prepare myself again. As expected her mana barrier broke, but the spear lost its momentum. Using the meantime to my favor, I clench my fists.

Her face finally show what I wanted to see. Tears. Ruby red tears. (Your curse is consuming you from inside out... How does it feel, little demon?) She coughs blood and wipes her tears with her sleeve. She stares at me, in panic.

"Come on, Ahato! Show me your true face!" Even with my attack, he was still sitting tight on Bella's shoulder. "You're not as strong as you think. I don't need it." He jumps from her shoulder in my direction.

In Mid-air, the little crow changes its appearance. Black hair, green eyes, and white skin. He wears the same brown jacket, black shirt, and trousers from the first we met, way back then on The House.

But one thing was different from back then, and it isn't new for me. His hands were giant black claws. "You can control it better now? So what?" From his back, a pair of black wings, big enough to cover my field of view.

*BOOM*

My fist and his claws collide, generating a sound wave strong enough that blow away Bella, along with some trees. But then, Ahato's face twisted in pain. I smile and laugh. "You have a big flaw, my old friend." He tries to retract his claw, but I had already grabbed his wrist.

He prepares to attack my hand with his other arm, but before that, I push him towards me and use my elbow to hit his jaw. His eyes were red from anger, and he spits purple blood.

"You are indeed powerful, probably one of the strongest beings alive. However, you think you're invincible. If you use that form, I won't hold a chance. But your human form... Is weak. Just like me, back then."

I throw a punch at his chest. He coughs, but his eyes didn't show me pain. "As you wish." I smile and release his wrist. Back on the ground, I pick up my spear. I look up, to see his wings flapping calmly.

He closes his eyes and takes a fetal position. (Here it comes, The King of the Sky.) His entire body starts to grow razor-sharp black feathers, and in no time he is completely covered by them. A giant feathered tail come from his waist on his back. His claws become even sharper, and his feet turn into claws too.

Besides his face, nothing more is humanlike. He stops flapping his wings, and takes a normal position, with his back straightened. Floating in the air above me, was Ahato, the last descendant of the raven tribe.

Our eyes meet. I smile and shiver. "Let's see who is stronger now!" Suppressing my fear, I leap. It was for just a moment, but I saw something I really missed. Ahato smile, but not his fake smile that he shows to Bella, the true smile that he shows when he's excited to fight.

"Don't disappoint me, dear friend." With the sound of the metal of my spear and his claws, the battle started. Later on, this battle will be well known, as the first battle that The King of the Sky lost. To who, however, no one knows, until today.
