Just a bath

I was happy when we moved into our new house. There was 3 rooms so me and my sister didn't have to share, and each one came with its own bathroom. My bedroom had a big closet and enough room to have a full size bed and have a big enough dresser.

I think the bathroom was my favorite part. There was a large bathtub with a shower part, a long counter with silver handles on the sink, and another door that lead to a small room with a toilet.

When I told my parents that I wanted that room, I went out to get all my stuff. Bringing all my stuff in, I started to hang up my clothes and getting out bed sheets.

By the time I got my bed finished, it was already starting to get late so I decided to finish the rest tomorrow. What I needed right now was a bath and some sleep.

I headed to the bathroom to turn on the water and waited a few minutes for the bath to fill up before I got in. This was the first bathtub big enough that I could lay all the way down in.

I closed my eyes and laid there for only short moments before I thought I heard a scratching noise. I opened my eyes and looked around, though there was nothing out of the ordinary.

I closed my eyes once more and tried to relax. It seemed calm for almost 10 minutes before I heard the scratch again, this time it sounded like it was right by me.

I looked around and saw nothing and decided to get out of the bath soon, despite how much I wanted to stay here. I closed my eyes, seeming to be lulled to sleep by the warm water.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my hand and yanked it from the edge of the bathtub. I looked at how red my hand was before my back started to feel it too.

The bathtub was starting to get hotter and burning at the touch. I tried to stand up as quickly as I could without touching the bathtub.

I was about to step my last foot out when some unknown pressure yanked it back and held it to the bottom. I screamed out when I reached for the side of the tub with the same burned hand to steady myself.

I yanked my leg multiple time but it wouldn't budge. It was starting to get so hot that I saw little bubbles in the water. I saw all the way up to my knee, where the water was, began turning red from the heat.

The water was almost completely boiling now and I was running out of options. I grabbed the side of the tub with both hands, and cried out once more from the pain. I used all my weight to pull myself out.

The pressure on my foot seemed to disappear as I launched myself toward the counter. I landed head first into the counter and fell on my stomach, knocking the breath out of me.

I rolled over, my vision half blurry, but I needed to see the bathtub. As I looked I saw a mass of black lowering into the tub with a giant black hand with foot long claws.

I stared in shock, sitting there on the bathroom floor burned and bloody. I looked at my foot and hadnt even realized the deep gashes. I guess I had cut myself on its claws when I struggled, but I never saw any blood until now.

I used my elbows to try to crawl my way to the door, screaming at the top of my lungs for my parents or even my sister. I pushed myself off the floor onto my one good foot and grabbed a towel.

I went for the door knob but just as I was about to touch it, I could feel the heat as I backed away into the counter. There was a piercing shriek of something sharp being moved across glass.

I turned to see gash marks in the giant foggy mirror. I looked near the bottom of the mirror to see something written there. "Bye" was all it said.

I gasped and cried out as there was a horrific pain in my back. I looked at myself in the mirror to see the black thing behind me, 2 claws raked down my back and one pushed straight through into my stomach.

It was the worst pain I ever felt in my life and probably will ever feel. My vision got blurry, spots dotted my eyesight until the spots took over and everything went black. There was only 2 sounds I ever heard again. The water in the bath, and the thud of my body.
