A Different Kind Of Messed Up

Cora's efforts to be a good friend didn't end when summer did. It was weird not seeing Ace anyway now that she was sort of used to it so she kept coming up with reasons to see him. They were hanging out like normal friends would.

She still struggled with this because he happened to be her soulmate but she tried not to think about that part and treat him as if he was any other friend. It was the only way she could handle it.

Difficult as separating 'Ace' from 'soulmate' was, she enjoyed the time they spent together. He had always been easy to talk to and they were able to quietly do their own thing in the same room too. She felt comfortable around him in a way she hadn't with anyone in years but there was still a wall there.

She couldn't tell him about the rest of her secrets. He already knew too much so it was shocking he was still here.
