Are You Mad At Me?

Lavender noticed that Nick's unusual politeness lasted into the next day as well. He thanked her for breakfast and told her it was delicious before heading out the door.

Confused as she was, she was relieved as well. That was one hurdle down. Now she just had to deal with wrangling Sage all day.

Isolated as she felt being a stay-at-home mom at a house so far from the center of town, she was grateful she could stay with her daughter while she was little. Even her mom had to work and put her kids in daycare.

Lavender wasn't completely alone anyway. There were moms at the playground or Story Time that she talked to…even if it was all about Sage or completely superficial stuff.

Nobody knew what was really going on with her. Not even her hairstylist or eyelash technician. They were the people she talked to for the longest stretches of time since it took a while for things to get dyed.
