Something Off

Kreznik's guilt didn't end there because the physical affection didn't end there either. He didn't want Lavender to be upset and had basically established he would be living out his life as Nick Coleman anyway so he went along with whatever she wanted.

Human mating rituals weren't terribly different from K'rllian ones but it wasn't like he would know from experience. He didn't exactly have time for romance on the run.

He could only hope that his glaring lack of experience wasn't too obvious to her. At the moment, she didn't seem to care. She made a small, contented noise and snuggled closer before saying, "I love you, Nick."

And there was the guilt again. He wasn't Nick but he had to say "I love you too" so she wouldn't be suspicious.

Kreznik didn't love anyone. All the people he had ever loved were dead.
