Fate Of The War God

" Damn it! Damn it!"

Zhou Qingshan yelled looking down from the cliff, his eyes frigid cold and filled with rage and malevolence.

" Marshal, what should we do now? His Majesty wanted us to bring back his corpse...." spoke general Xu with a hint of panic.

He was reminded of the emperor's instruction of bringing Jiang Zemin back to the capital.

Dead or alive he had to be caught and brought back.

Now that the person was gone how were they going to answer His Majesty?

It was a mess!

The more they thought the more they felt that Jiang Zemin was like a curse to them.

When he was alive he suppressed them until they gnashed their teeth and clench their fist until they bled and now even in his death he continued to trouble them.

It was too hateful!

Zhou Qingshan was also thinking about this matter as his grey and bushy brows twisted into a knot.

Meanwhile, the two were busy discussing a solution, General Xia who stood behind them was also looking down the cliff when a red object suddenly caught his eyes.

He squinted his eyes and leaned forward to get a clear view.

In the bushes near the edges of the cliff lay a crimson-coloured token shaped into the form of a Phoenix.

The token looked just like a Phoenix born out of the flaming fire it was flaming red and glowing.

It was a token of the Raging Flame army.

A glint flashed across Xia Fu's eyes when he confirmed that he hadn't seen wrongly.

Taking out his sword still leaning slightly he took out the token hung on the branches of the bushes.

" Grand Marshal, I have a suggestion would you like to hear it?" Xia Fu interrupted the ongoing discussion as he stroked the token in his hand.

Hearing him intervene suddenly Zhou Qingshan and Xu Cai turned their heads simultaneously.

" What? Does General Xia have a solution?.... Then let us hear it..." Said Zhou Qingshan.

" Yes, if general Xia can come up with a solution we would be saved....." Cu Cai also urged.

" Marshal, if I am not wrong His Majesty wanted us to bring the body back because he wanted to make sure Jiang Zemin was dead, right?" as said this he glanced at the two who wore a frown on their faces.

" Yes...that seems to be the case otherwise why would anyone want to bring the traitor's body back to the Capital when he died in such a far-off place? won't it be an unnecessary hassle? And it wasn't like he was planning to hold a mourning ceremony after killing everyone on Jiang Mansion to appease them in the underworld ?" Xu Cai mused.

" Yes, you are right." Zhou Qingshan also nodded to this.

Seeing the two agree to his conjecture Xia Fu continued, " If that's the case then His Majesty's conditions are already met, right? We just need to deliver the body..."

" What are you saying?" Frowned Xu Cai, not understanding the meaning behind this, "....That body is gone! How can we--"

However, before he could finish something he was cut off.

" Yes, that's right...Why didn't I think it? Since that bastard was already severely injured this fall would undoubtedly take his life. So, he is already dead and we just need to provide his body." Zhou Qingshan seemed enlightened.

" But Marshal are you sure we want to do this? His Majesty is too cautious and if he found out that we are lying our end won't be good..." Xu Cai muttered softly showing his hesitance.

Old Marshal heard him and felt that he had a point their emperor was too cautious with his people.

" Then what if we have this."

Seeing that they were hesitating Xia Fu finally showed them the token he had found earlier.

Zhou Qingshan and Xu Cai saw that flaming red token and brightened up. And they were finally relieved, this was finally settled now they could return home with honour and glory, unlike the certain traitor who wouldn't have a burial ground or any memorial holding.

This time they were the heroes and War-gods who people worshipped while Jiang Zemin....

A traitor.

This was the fate of the so-called War God.

...

Jiang Residence,

" Master, how are you going to convince your mother about this?..... Today you got yelled at again tomorrow you might be yelled at again--you know, you should hurry up and think of something.....otherwise, forget about this trip."

" Hey, stop jinxing!... And can't you see I am thinking so you'd better shut up!" Jiang Ying Yue had been listening to his babbling for a while and her head hurt.

Feeling irritated she looked at her limbs that were lying limply to her sides and felt even more miserable.

After coming home Jiang Ying Yue received a good scolding.

Never in her life, did Jiang Ying Yue think that her lady-like mother was so good at scolding.

It was a scolding that lasted nearly half an hour before she could leave.

However, her misery didn't end there and her mother asked her to practice calligraphy page after page as punishment.

And now her hands and fingers hurt so much that it was killing her.

Why was mother so cruel?.....

Abhram finally realized that he had been pressing the wrong button and shrank his neck, however, his little mouth didn't seem to obey his command as it continued after a pause, " Master, ain't I thinking for your good? Master, why don't we just do it like this, let's leave first after we are done with our trip come back and receive our punishment.....copying a few hundred pages of calligraphy won't be much right?"

The little boy's words were so outrageous that Jiang Ying Yue almost puked blood from anger.

She was so enraged that her chest hurt.

This brat was taking her hands for granted!

And what is that 'we' and ' our'?

He was talking as if he would accompany her in punishment when in reality it was only her who would be suffering while that stinky brat would just sit in his courtyard and blabber non-stop while enjoying the show.

Jiang Ying Yue rolled her eyes and retorted back, " You keep saying that you are the mighty one and that world of yours is the greatest one then why don't you help me?... Make my replica or something then we can leave her here and no one would know?"

Hearing her demand Abhram twitched his lips and pouted feeling wronged, " Master, if I could do something like that then wouldn't I have replaced myself long ago? Why would I be stuck here for so long?"

This was reasonable and Jiang Ying Yue nodded, however, she didn't forget to drop a comment, " Useless."

Abhram felt that he had suffered severe damage after being despised by his master and choked but he couldn't find anything to refute that statement.

Jiang Ying Yue saw that the boy was finally left speechless and snorted softly, pleased with the result.

Now it was quiet and peaceful.

She could finally concentrate on coming up with a plan.

However, it didn't take a quarter of an hour when she heard Abhram speak again.

" Master, there's an intruder!" His voice sounded unusually solemn.

" Hmm....I know.." Jiang Ying Yue hummed in response as her hand moved under her pillow.
