002- Work

They both nodded at each other before getting into their cars, Eli took his towel wiping the sweat from his forehead before starting up his car. Turning on some Lofi beats he took off to his favorite coffee shop, they made the best smoothies and coffees so of course he was going there.

It didn't take him long to reach the coffee shop, getting out and walking into the shop he was happy the line wasn't long. There were only two others and him, at the moment he was behind a blonde woman who was on the phone with someone though he didn't pay attention to her conversation.

Instead he was thinking about how this was going to be his first day being a lawyer, well as in him being in this body, for the body though this is his sixtieth case. He would have more but he did spend a year working as an associate under someone else so he could learn the ropes.

"I'm so sorry, this never happens. I know it is in here somewhere." The blonde who was in front of him said while looking through her purse for what he assumed was her wallet.

"No trouble ma'am take your time." The cashier said with a friendly smile it was a young man who looked to be entranced by her looks.

She turned around shooting Eli a apologetic look, Eli raised a brow he seemed to have known her from somewhere but he couldn't place the name to the face. "Let me get a peach and melon smoothie please, and just include her drink on me." Eli said while giving the woman a smile, he didn't have the time to wait.

"Thank you so much." The woman said while giving him a smile.

"No thanks needed." He said shooting her a smile back while grabbing his smoothie that was handed to him, it was an extra large, he was glad to see that his taste buds were the same.

After paying Eli went to walk out as he did he heard the woman call out to him, "Wait! I just wanted to say I can pay you back for this, I just couldn't find my wallet. I think I left it on my desk at work I only came out to get a drink but didn't think that I left it there."

Eli raised a brow but nodded, "It is fine. You should always do one good deed a day right? Plus I spend so much time defending bad people it makes me feel better to actually do something nice for someone."

"Oh you are a lawyer too?!" She said with some surprise in her voice, "Where do you work?"

"Berman, Rautbort & Associates, got a corner office and everything." He said with a smile while checking his emails.

"What! Really, I work there too! I am on the twenty-first floor." She said with a smile on her face.

Eli was shocked and looked at her closely, he knew that a lot of Hexenbeist worked on that floor since he was also on that floor, "Hold on, blonde and really good looking? Your Adalind Schade, right?" he said while looking at her with a raised brow.

"Yeah that's me." She said with a smile.

He knew her she was one of the top dogs in the office, she had a 100% win rate, which was something that not everyone could get even with their powers. He never got the chance to meet her though since he was on defense while she specialized in the other side basically a prosecutor but more like suing or shutting down companies.

"Well nice to meet you. Now I need to get to the office since I have a meeting in twenty and still need to shower after my run today." Eli said while moving to his car to get ready to leave.

She looked nervous for a moment before speaking, "Since we are going to the same place do you mind give me a ride?"

Eli raised a brow at her but really didn't mind, "Sure why not come on in." he then went around to the driver side while getting in the car, it was push to start so he only need the remote with the key.

She smiled happily while getting in with him, "Looks like I owe you two favors now, one for the coffee and the other for the ride then."

Eli just chuckled, he mainly knew about her other then from her cases because Scott had a huge crush on the girl but apparently she was seeing someone. Not dating but they had a fling or something is what Scott heard from one of her friends, shortly after finding out that Adalind found him repulsive.

"So what do you do in the firm?" She asked as they got on to the road.

"Defensive work. I help the bad guys and some guys good guys get out of trouble. Though I have been thinking of doing some pro-bono lately." Eli answered while taking a slurp of his drink.

She nodded while answering a message on her phone, "That is cool. You must be one of the super rookies I heard about from Berman."

"Me super? Coming from the woman the woman who has a 100% success rate on her cases that is saying something." Eli said while shaking his head.

They finally reached the office listening to soft music, most of the time Adalind was on her phone and he could tell it wasn't from clients but from maybe whoever her fling was. He only thought that because she tended to smile a lot when the messages came in, now unless she was a a weirdo who got off on suing people he guess should be right then.

He didn't say anything to her as they both got out of the car, taking his messenger bag along with a duffle that held a change of clothes he locked the door while heading inside. The elevators in the office required an access card if they entered from the parking structure so he took his out while swiping it.

Looking back he shook his head at Adalind who took to holding on to his shirt as they walked, she was still typing away on her phone at the moment as they made their was inside. He didn't really mind leading her though since they were on the same office floor then he just let her do as she pleased.

When the elevator reached their floor she was still typing away so he led her to her office, it was one of the bigger ones on the twenty-first floor. His was decent size but with the abjuring bathroom in it then it took up a lot of space, "We are here." he said while reading the name plate next to her office.

"Well the favors just keep racking up huh?" she smiled at him while moving towards her door taking out her key to unlock the door. They all had sensitive material in their offices so they were each aloud to lock their doors at night when they left or if they went out for lunch.

"See you later, and nice meeting you Adalind." Eli said not responding to the favors comment and heading to his office on the other side of the floor.

Along the way he nodded to some people who called out to him, really he only had three friends here though, Scott, Don, and his assistant Jess other then them he didn't really talk to many people. Getting near his office he saw Jess was already at her desk working on something, "Morning Jess." He said as he passed by.

"Morning Eli, your seven thirty just called saying they might be held up for twenty minutes. Also you got two new cases assigned to you this morning I already put them on your desk." Jess said with a happy smile while following him into the office, she was a Musai, luckily she didn't effect him.

"Thank you Jess, as always it is great to have you by my side." Eli smiled at her while settling his messenger bag down on his chair before moving towards the bathroom, "I need a shower and will be ready in ten to twenty minutes, hold all my calls and take messages."

After handing her his cell phone too he went into the bathroom, it wasn't a full on all that was inside was a standing shower and a sink. It use to have a toilet but Scott came and used it once going number two which caused his office to reek, so since then he had someone come over and take it out for him.

Stripping out of his clothes he turned the shower on stepping inside, he already had everything he needed inside to shower with so he wasn't worried about needing to call for help. Letting the water wash over his body he sighed hearing the door open up knowing already that it was Jess, "What are you doing?" Eli asked.

"Come on. Let me join, since you have started here I have been trying to get you to sleep with me, I have no effect on you so let see if we have natural chemistry." She said with flirty smile while messing with her blouse.

"And as I have told you many times before, I won't sleep with someone who works for me. So cut it out and go ahead and get back out there." Eli sighed while turning to look at her, he was not at all bothered by her seeing him naked. Although he wouldn't sleep with her they did tease each other a lot, but he wouldn't go far enough to sleep with her.

"One of these days Eli I am going to be able to convince you to sleep with me." she said with a sigh whole giving him a once over before she walked out of the bathroom.

He shook his head while rubbing the half crescent moon his chest, it was a blue and pink tattoo. If someone had good enough vision they would be able to see little rune letters on it, it was helping him make sure he didn't get caught in Jess allure while also keeping his anger in somewhat check.

The worst thing for being a Zauberbiest and Hexenbeist was their anger, if they let it control them then they were more then likely to not be able to keep a straight mind. His mother made this rune which helped him though, along with the many others it was doing at the moment he didn't have much to worry about.

After his shower Eli went back into his office while drying his hair with a towel, standing at his desk already was Jess who was holding a blow dryer while smiling at him. Smiling himself he walked over to his seat and let her get to work, "Anything?"

"Nope you didn't get any calls or anything while in there. Your seven thirty just called saying he was five minutes away." Jess said as she ran her fingers through his hair while drying it.

"Alright." While waiting for his client and letting Jess dry his hair Eli went to the new files that he got. Two were for people who were being charged with murder while the last was about some copyright stuff, someone suing his client over an idea that was stolen.

Ten minutes later there was a call from his new client who was on his way up, Jess was already back at her desk while sorting out the rest of his day. It looked like he would be leaving the office late tonight since he needed to do work for all of the new cases that were handed to him plus all the meetings.

"Timothy Green." The man said coming into the office shaking Eli's hand as the two of them took a seat on the couches that were in the room.

"Nice to meet you Timothy. Now let's get into it, this claim isn't going to be something easy to dispute now." Eli said looking over the file but really there was cold fury in his veins at the moment. Even his eyes seemed to flash orange for a moment before going back to normal, not all of the clients they took on were Wesen some were normal humans, like Timothy here.

"Look, I know you are just getting started but you came highly recommended by a friend of mine, I just need you to get the charges drop and make her claims seem like they are fake. You can do it right?" Timothy said with a sneer in his voice when he brought up his soon to be ex-wife who was divorcing him while also trying to get as much money as she could.

Eli looked over the file and there was nothing wrong with her claim either, sure he could fight it getting Timothy here off, but why should he? The one thing he hated was wife beaters or anyone who beat women, sure there are times where men and women fight but if you are beating a woman just cause you can then you are scum.

Ellie Green, 5 foot 1 weighing 100 pounds, she has been to the hospital for multiple broken bones from 'falling' along with head trauma that is caused by obvious signs of multiple bashings. Timothy Green, 6 foot 5 weighing 190 pounds, professional UFC fighter who has held the belt for Middle Weight Champion of the world.

Timothy Green known for his anger issues, inside and outside the ring.

"Sure can do. I just need to look over some more files and I will be ready for court in three days. I will call you though if I need any more information." Eli smiled looking up at Timothy, inside though he already had a full plan of how to tank the case without him finding out.

Timothy smiled while standing to shake Eli's hand, "That is great man. I will be waiting for your call if needed, if not then I will see you on our day of victory."

"Jess will validate your parking." Eli said while leading him out the office, when his back was turn he glared at the man. Jess saw the glare and immediately put on a neutral expression, she was even more repulsed when the man tried to flirt with her, even if it was in her nature.

Eli went back into the office, he threw Timothy's case on his table to the side and went to look at another case, he wasn't even going to try to hard to find something new. He could see the real man beneath the skin and knew that he was nothing more then a ball of anger that actually did what was on those papers.

"That bad huh?" Jess said walking into the room while cleaning his trash from his desk, which was just the rest of his smoothie from earlier.

"Look for yourself." He said while gesturing towards the files, she wasn't allowed to read them unless he said since she didn't have to keep the information to herself. She wasn't the lawyer of the two.

"Wow. This is open and shut for the woman, if it wasn't for you being the guys lawyer but now she doesn't even have a chance, even if it is clear as day." Jess looked up seeing a small smirk on his face, "Or not, it seems he will be screwed out of your high prices along with his wife getting half his stuff."

Eli just smirked more not denying or confirming what she said was true, "Well let's see the next case shall we." Jess took the hint and walked out while laughing to herself already knowing how he was going to be.
