Independence

Because of the sudden event. Philippines remain as the commonwealth of the US after the end of war.

Japanese Imperial surrendered as hundreds of thousands of people died because of the mysterious thunders and lightning.

No one knows the true cause, yet the Imperial gave up all its right from the foreign lands as they retreat back to their homeland.

Thousands of Japanese soldiers marched from China with the invading threat of the Soviet Union. They deem the country as a powerful foe that even the US can't win head on.

Meanwhile, the Commonwealth of the Philippines, led by the second know president; Manuel L. Quezon. It was also because of the mysterious event that he was kept as the leading head of the Commonwealth.

However, because of the growing desire of independence. Manuel L. Quezon, despite the crisis, declared independent. A bold move yet the most powerful one a Filipino can ever dreamt of.

Among those 15 million Filipino that survive the war. Only 100,000 have joined the campaign, yet it is enough to lead the country to the path of its independence.

1945 marks the end of war after the Imperial Japanese signed on the USS Missouri. 1949, four years after the war. Another war was declared.

"On the behalf of my people, my citizen, and my countrymen. I, Manuel L. Quezon, hereby declare independence against the United States of America. We will prove ourselves, That us, the Filipinos, can live, can survive, and can grow even in ourselves.

As of June 12, 1949. The Commonwealth of the Philippines will be abolish, and be replace as the Republic of the Philippines. Not a puppet, not a state, but a single country that will lead to its future and beyond!"

Of course, multiple opinions were raised among other countries. Criticism, Admiration, and Astonishment were those that they received. But the most stern opinion they every receive came from a single country; The United States of America.

The US have brought up the independence of the Philippines among the Senate. With the Imperialist and the anti-Imperialist. They have discussed such matter even at the midst of war in which the Japanese still held the Philippines.

The anti-Imperialist are the ones in favor at that time. However, because of the mysterious event in which they called The Opening Gates occurred, the favor of the majority switch to the other side as curiosity got the better of them.

Although the anti-Imperialist still have many members, the imperialist outnumbered them and soon fall into silence. With this, the imperialist won the battle and thus, the beginning of another war.

However, little did they know. The moment that the Philippines had already prepared themselves with the upcoming war. Not only did they underestimated the country, they also overestimated their capabilities as warmongers.

Because of that. Before they even secretly land at Borongan Province, multiple artillery was fired targeting the US battleship and the cruisers destroying most of their weapons and losing some of their men.

It didn't stop here, as if they were rich from gunpowders and weapons. Multiple artillery kept coming giving no chance for the US and its ally to properly aim and land.

"Artillery Origin! 4 kilometers southwest!"

Shouts were heard as orders kept coming inside the battleship. Despite the losses, they were trained to be disciplined and though they underestimated the enemy, they still need to save face in order to held their country with dignity.

Afterwards, counter attacks were sent by the battleships and its ally to every sector in which most artillery were placed. Killing nearly 1200 troops and destroying four heavy soviet artillery.

Despite the number of deaths, 2000 Filipino men stand up from their grounds and continues to fire and sway the invading country. Unlike before, they have now the ability to secure and protect their country. Even if they die, they know they will achieve the Filipino Dream.

As the battle kept for nearly a month. The US retreated after confirming the lost of almost twenty ships mostly cruisers. The same results also happened in every east sector of the Philippines; Tandag, Catarman, and Daet.

Knowing that the Philippines were fully supported by the Soviet. The US can only do nothing but sit idly and watch what will happen next.

Because of that, the successful proclamation of the second president of the Philippines were officially recognized by major countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, and of course, the Soviet Union. Hence marking the end of war and the first victory of the Philippine history.

Now that all things were done and the independence of the Philippines were claimed. The second president had done its duty and thus, needed to step down from the seat and let the other one in which the people will vote, lead the great country.

May 23, 1950. The third president of the Philippines, Josephine Guevarro sat on the palace as he won fair and square with the vote of 9 million people. Marking the end of the Republic of the Philippines and the rise of the Republic of Maharlika.
