Chapter 4

The Elder arrives Chidinma's kingdom

"who are you and where are you coming from?" A guard said at the gate.

"I want to speak to the Elders of this kingdom about the war that king Abu has wagged over all the kingdom of our great nations. I am Elder odoh from the sixth kingdom that was attacked recently please let me speak to them" the elder begged.

"Come " the guard said with his sword at his back "just in case you try any funny business".

Elder odoh is taken to the Elders.

"Greetings This man here said he is from the sixth region that was recently attacked

" and you let him in what if he is a spy from the Trijans" an elder said.

"Speak, what brings you here" another said.

"My name is Elder odoh from the sixth region called the Ogene tribe we where recently attacked but we surrendered I spoke about your tribe on how you can't be defeated but they wanted to kill me for speaking the truth about your mighty God. so I escaped and knew that this is the only place I can find safety. Please let me join your tribe and know your God as you will never be defeated" Odoh said

"Hmm you may stay but you must tell us more about the Trijans " the Elder said.

The Elders immediately gather to have meeting on the latest development on the impending danger of war from King Abu. Some of the elders expressed their misgivings on letting the Elder from Ogene stay with them.

"But you know that this people are pagans, how can we allow him stay amongst us. He will defile our laws and tradition." said one of the Elders.

"Well spoken my brother, but remember that our God does not discriminate. His word is that every human being come to know Him for who He is. The love He has for us as His people is the same love He has and is willing to share with anyone who call on him." said the leader of the Elder's council.

"Back to the matter on ground, our priest needs to seek the face of God concerning this matter. Should we go to war against King Abu and his Army or should we hold our peace". continue the leader of the Elder council.

"We can not surrender ourselves to that Coward king, ..mba"(never) one of the Elders says.

" we have to do something soon they will come and attack us we can't risk our lives our women and children let's think about them" another said

" If we surrender they will become slaves to King Abu we cannot, not when we serve a living God" another elder said

"We will protect ourselves we have God on our side. We will not fall we will not fight either but we will make sure that they do not enter this kingdom. No one will be allowed to leave the walls of this kingdom the guards will guide the gate day and night we will not fall prey to them".

The Trijans move to the next region. In this kingdom a wedding is going on between a young woman and the most fearless soldier.

" you look beautiful Nnne " a woman who is dressing the bride said

"You think so?" Nnne said

"I know so.. your husband won't be able to resist you" the woman said chuckling

"Thank you" Nnne said blushing.

"It is time the groom is here" another lady said

the other women danced towards where the husband and the guest where with Nnne behind them. Soon Nnne stands beside her husband in her beautiful attire her husband smiled at her as she smiled back.

The wedding ceremony was about to start when suddenly three guards run towards the groom which interrupts the ceremony.

"We are so sorry for intruding but the Trijans have arrived they are killing the soldiers and capturing the women and children " one said huffing.

"I must go no one will take my bride I will protect you at all cost everyone take cover hide somewhere" the groom said

"No please Uzo no I beg of you I can't risk losing you let's surrender" Nnne begged her husband

"No we will not become slaves to them I will not let anyone hurt you I would rather die fighting to protect you than run away. Please my love, run and hide " Uzo the groom said as he picks up his weapon and runs towards the battle field.

"Nooo Uzo....please don't leave me...don't go!" Nnne cried as she runs after him

"Stop running towards the danger Nnne, everyone is running to the hiding place. You will be captured " a woman said as she runs with her children to the hiding place.

Nnne ignored and ran towards the battle field, there she saw her husband fighting with the Trijans with other soldiers then Awal came from behind Uzo and slit his throat.

Nnne couldd not breath she fell on her knees screaming she just saw her husband die in front of her eyes on her wedding day.

The Trijans soon killed all the soldiers and they capture the women even the ones who hid.

The captured Nnne grabbing her by her hand

"How tragic on your wedding day you loose your beloved. well, you would have still been with your husband if he had obeyed and surrendered " Awal said

"Never will we surrender to such cowards who attack the innocent. you and king Abu will rot in hell" she said as she weeps inconsolably.

"Woman watch your mouth" Awal's aid retorted

"I love a woman who is beautiful and brave at the same time" said Awal as he touches her face. "Keep her away from the rest, she looks special and can be of use to me" he continues.

"Not on my life and honour of my beloved husband whom you murdered". Nnne said, picking out a knife from her wrapper and slitting her throat. She lets out a loud shrill as she fell straight on the ground with blood gushing from her throat.

" How tragic indeed..she would have had a good life but she chose to die with her worthless groom. Pick her put her with the other corpse and burn them" Awal said

"Yes chief " the Trijan said.

"Seven down one to go but first we must report to king Abu about what is going on regarding this people and their so called God" Awal said.
